In this double exposure tutorial i will show you how you can transform any regular photo into double exposure using photoshop.
i have already one double exposure effect tutorial and it is more advanced and longer then this so if you want to watch that video wait till the end of the video or you can click on this link bit.ly/1KWh5Dp
Now about this video, this is kind of a really simple version of what you can do with this effect, first of all i have given some tips for the people who are doing this effect for the first time that will make it even more simple for you to create this effect. And also links to all of the images that i used in this video are down below, they free so feel free to use them.
Then i will show you how to blend this two images properly and remove the unnecessary parts of the background so that your images look more professional and beautiful, after that there is a part where we will need to get read of the trunk of the tree, i will show a method with the use of the brush so that it every thing looks smooth.
After that i will show you how you can bring back lost details in the image and create a color effect so that it looks a little different then other double exposure effect. Then like every time we will do some color corrections and adjustment to give it some finishing touches.
So, I hope you learned something from this photoshop tutorial and as always if you have any questions feel free to ask me in the comments, and have some fun with photoshop :)

"Try using a red or black head. I mean you can still make blondes in double exposure, but *they're just a little difficult.* "

Yeeessss!! I've watched two dozen videos this week on how to do double exposures in Photoshop--and this is by far the best one. So many of the other videos showed how to delete the texture around the subject's outline via the clipping mask, but never showed any way to bring it back where you wanted it for a flowy effect. Thank you for showing me how to paint BOTH layers in and out for more control.

I've already posted on this but I'm currently doing a qualification and we are looking at learning content at the moment and have to choose 3 freely available pieces and explain why we like them / they are good. One of mine is this video (or any by this guy) and I've pasted my entry below.
I love You Tube videos but there are lots out there that are rubbish. This guys videos are really good and I have learnt so much from them. I normally try to stay away from videos where the person presenting has a strong accent as it makes it harder to follow along but the content and style of this is so good that its worth me taking the extra effort
Some of the key points about why I like this video as a learning aid.
    • The You Tube video description is actually useful to read and helps determine whether the video is what you need - I've watched so many videos where I've let it play for a couple of minutes and its then obvious its not what I needed. The way this guy does this massively minimises the risk of this.
    • Gives links to the images etc he is using so makes it easier to follow yourself
    • He explains what he is doing and why as he goes
    • Can easily pause and rewind?revisit if get lost and need to backup a bit
    • some might say 8.5 minutes is a bit long but he actually covers a vast amount of content in that period and what he is doing isn't simple so it really needs to be that long
    • He talks at a good speed (not too slow) and is focused on what he is talking about (no unnecessary waffle etc). As its You Tube, you can also manually speed up or slow down playback speed so gives greater learner control.
    • Good use of closed captions / subtitles
    • Recorded in good quality
    • Its a very practical aid that I can easily revisit when I need
    • The only improvement I could think of would be if he added bookmarks at specific changes in topic during the video as this could make it easier to jump to a particular point when needed.

i thank you very much for taking your time and describing your opinions about my videos. YOU ARE THE BEST!! thank you so much for explaining so thoroughly -- you saved my day today. I'm a beginner at Ps, and all the tutorials I watched (except for one other that was excellent), were too fast; the tutors talk and talk, and speed up their videos and it's impossible to see all the shortcuts they use! Thank you once again!

I've seen a few tutorials on double exposure, but this explains it the best. So good, I've done two! Also, thanks for the link to the models.
My first "go", I copied yours, just to get used to it. Second time, I used a different model with a different background.

its comment mistake while learning :).. you are painting on your image, not on your mask, thus black color..... see you have two thumbnails one for mask and one for image. paint on mask with black and it will work just fine :)
