About A Christmas Story:
It's the final days before Christmas in early 1940s Cleveland, and 9-year-old Ralphie wants one thing from Santa Clause more than anything else: a Red Ryder Carbine Action Air Rifle. As he trudges through the snow to school, faces the neighborhood bully and visits a malevolent department store Santa Clause, Ralphie connives, conspires and campaigns for the most fabulous Christmas present ever in this heartwarming, hysterical and sweetly nostalgic holiday film.

I still say "frageeeleee" anytime I see *Fragile* 🤣
Same here haha
As we all should!!🤣🤣🤣
Me too🤣
I still say “fudge”
My family is all about this movie. Frageeeeeeleeeee is a common retort when ever a package arrives. 😘🥰😂🤣
4:55, I’m Italian, and I love that line…. FRAGILEE ‘
Hard to believe the 40th anniversary of this movie is coming next year (1983-2023). I still watch it at least once every Christmas season.
The original movie's schedule starts December 1st. Just check your local theaters schedule. They don't appear to have done anything to it. Running time is identical.
That's how you know you made a great story, when even the bully of the story is beloved
Of all the characters, I loved Ralph's teacher, she was the wisest of them all....she was onto them kids in her class!
Such a great cast of actors. Love Darren McGavin. RIP.
I love how the actors all speak so positively about their experience on the film. They could be bitter that people know them from those roles but they seem to really embrace being a part of this movie
I recently saw the actor that played Randy and he's kind of "bitter". Mainly because he didnt really have many speaking parts
I grew up watching this movie thinking it was filmed in the time that it takes place. It wasn't until the early 2000's that I realized that I'm near the same age as the characters! What a wonderful movie
Maybe you're 95 years old & you just don't know it.
Awe Ralphie is still adorable. Classic movie.
he grew up looking like Ryan Gosling.
I'm still adorable, too.
Ever since they have started the 24 hrs of A Christmas Story it has played on my tv for 24 hrs straight.
I have high hopes for this. I watched it as a kid and still put it on repeat around thanksgiving. I go to sleep with it playing at night. There’s something peaceful about it.
I just saw a trailer for it.
Same here, Christmas eve its on all night
Can't wait for it!
It's Christmas day and I'm literally watching it again, like every Christmas day, right now!!! Love this movie. It's one of the All Time classics.
I consider this one of my top 10 favorite films of all time. Peter Billingsley gives a perfect performance, as does Darren McGavin, and Jean Shepherd's narration is priceless.
Ralphie grew up to be gorgeous!
And to think the film critics labeled it a flop. But it’s become a national icon for Christmas and is more popular today than when it was first released.
Zack Ward is awesome. Met him in person and he's a chill, real down to earth person.
He seems like a wholesome dude. Isn't he Canadian? Lol
@@stairwaygoddess I heard him say in an interview that he said he’s from Toronto
Such innocent times! Jean shepherd was the centuries greatest story teller. I’m glad “A Christmas Story” become a Christmas classic. I hope the new movie lives up to and surpasses this. 😊🎉
Such a great classic movie. Watched it every year growing up as a kid in the 90s.. now I watch it every year with my two kids
& I watched it with my grandkids, - now they're Grown!! I still watch it now!!
I saw it in the theater in 1983....wonderful movie...brings back the fondest memories....I even watch it in the summer....it’s up there with its a wonderful life
My husband and I always laugh and say “let’s have a Christmas Story Christmas dinner!”. We always go to a Chinese restaurant wherever we are and eat duck! 😂😂😂
Ayo, every Christmas for 24 hours, this movie shall not be turned off unless you want your fingers chopped
I'm 46 years old still watch it every year favorite Christmas movie of all time
HIGBEES was a real store chain in Cleveland when this was filmed, and they used the old downtown store location to film (the parade scene made the local news for shutting down Public Square).... The REAL Jean Shepard made a cameo appearance as the guy who told Ralphie where the line for Santa started...
The line ends here. It’s begins there!
I was working in tower city at the time
That's so cool. I knew he narrated it but I had no idea.
An actual insightful informative comment...Thank you.
How cool!
What a treat this video is. A Christmas Story has been a solid generational Christmas tradition every year. With quotes from the movie saturating Christmas celebration almost all the month of December. A Christmas Story is a part of the history of Christmas now.
One of my favorites! My father-in -law loved this movie, I loved to hear him talk about it and relate it to his own childhood in Michigan. My daughter's HS drama dept put on the play and, and she played the teacher, it was pretty fun.
Christmas Story was, and still is by far a gem to watch.
A few Christmases ago, I got the Christmas Story Lamp, not the large size...it is a medium size leg lamp.
My desire is to tour the Christmas story house, seeing as though I'm from the general Cleveland area.
Thank you for this memory
I love this movie so much my brother bought me a red rider bee bee gun for Christmas and as I’m unwrapping the gift my family yells don’t shoot your eye out. Best Christmas ever!! Christmas story for life ❤
Christmas Story is a classic great movie!
The bully in this looked so much like the bully in my 4th grade class. He even cried like him. 🤭 The narrator's voice is so soothing. I almost named my female cat Ralphie cuz she likes to sleep under the sink.
This movie is an absolute classic, an icon! I have watched it every year since it came out. It reminds me of Christmas when I was a kid in the late '40s.
💚🎄A Christmas Story
Thank you!! for Our family tradition
at my house every year on repeat #AChristmasStory entire Christmas Day.
I watched this every Christmas day. It's fun to watch this on Christmas day. A great movie.
R. I.P Bob Clark.
A CHRISTMAS STORY! Classic! LOVE IT!!
I saw this in theater as a kid and that was great. Even more amazing was decades later as an English teacher in China renting a theater and watching this with Chinese students and some European teachers that had never seen it before. Just like that a movie I had seen dozens of time was new again. I laughed along with the theater full of people like it was the first time. And of course the Chinese thought that the singing at the Chinese restaurant was hilarious.
It's funny how Peter's voice almost sounds like the Narrators (Ralphie as Adult) voice now.
I agree, which will make the newest movie great.
If I remember correctly, the narrator was the author, Jean Shepherd.
Every Christmas Eve my mom puts this on at her house and my grandparents and every year it’s the exact same moment. At my grandparents on Christmas Eve night it’s right in time for the Santa scene at Higbees, and the next morning we’re always up just in time to see Ralphie get the Bunny Pajamas. Lol.
A wonderful movie, fabulous narration, and the child actors were all awesome! Looking forward to the reboot coming out on 11/17/2022...
Rip. Darren Mcgavin, the father
Who else can't wait till the sequel airs on HBO MAX this winter ❤️
no
I wish I could afford it!
We don't get HBO It should be at theatres. They would be sold out.
Yet another sequel/reboot nobody asked for. Just let the original stand on its own. Come up with something original.
@@karenleemallonee684 you could probably get it for a trial and cancel
I love this movie been Watching every year around Christmas time for the past 20 or so years, I play it all day long and never tire of it. It really brought my family together even if only for a day. I'll never forget the memories this movie gave me.
It's our family tradition for the last 22 years to watch A Christmas Story while we put up the Christmas tree 🎄THANK YOU💓p.s. I have the leg lamp ornament on my tree😁
TO the entire cast and crew...THANK YOU AND JOB WELL DONE!
Love, love, love this movie. The cast is fantastic. The script is great. There’s no a Christmas without this movie. I look forward to it ever Christmas and I never get tired of it, never! It always brightens up my Holiday. 😊
Lest we forget, the guy in the Santa Claus line who says, “Hey, kid! Where do you think you’re goin’?” is the AUTHOR, Jean Shepherd. (He’s also the film’s narrator.)
Every year i always try and make sure that i watch A Christmas Story National lampoon's Christmas vacation and The Polar Express
And Elf, too.
And Home Alone😍
@@ImaJiveTurkey yep and Home Alone 2
One of my go to holiday DVD. A must watch. Brings back fond memories 🤣🤣👍👍
Kids are still young guys. Twenty years is only the beginning 🤩loved Darren McGavin
I love that movie. I remember all those things growing up. ❤️🤗
Ralphie is ageless !!😍
This movie brings me such joy and tears to my eyes. I love it so much
Ralphie and the bully grew up to be hot!
I saw this in the theater when it was first released! Classic gem! Long love Ralphie!!!
Christmas tradition at our home is as follows: breakfast...Church...home to open gifts...call friends and family who don't live nearby...visit friends and family who do...dinner...watch "A Christmas Story" followed by "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim. It never gets old, only we do.🙂🎄
I remember watching them film the original Christmas story! The Christmas story house is up the street from where I grew up
OH Thank you! my son and his wife have a replica of the Lamp they put out in the window every year at christmas!I bought my mom the DVD when it came out. Great times and GREAT lines we use to this day!
It was released in 1983. They're talking in this documentary that it's the 20th anniversary, so it must have been released in 2003.
Next year will be its FORTIETH Anniversary.
In 1983 it was looking back to 1940s America, now it's 40 years later still...
Both eyes intact. Lol. Love this film.🎄
FRA-GEE-LEE!
I watch this every year after thanksgiving , it kicks off the holiday season for me, i can’t wait for the new movie
That would be fantastic to have 20 yrs. later Christmas Story.
I believe there is a sequel coming out on Nov 17th on HBO max.
A Christmas Story Christmas. Be prepared though. "I never bawled!"
My kids loved this movie! We watched it every Christmas 🎄 all day. Can’t wait to see the 2nd one.😊
Yup, this is part of my Christmas lineup, every single year. 🙂
This is Christmas gold!!!
Peter Billingsley still has that little tiny lisp, which is adorable. It's sad that a kid wanting a gun for Christmas, even though a BB gun, resonates differently today. 😩
I got one when I was 8. Just like his old man did. I still got one eye.
@@ksavage681 Please try to not shoot out the other one. Early Christmas wishes to you🎄🙂
Love this classic movie n can’t wait to see the sequel 🎄
Two Great movies to run back to back. Have the tree and decorations already up. My home is brand new, snow outside. Was a perfect time to watch.
I honestly can’t believe it’s been this long since I’ve actually watched this film all the way through and I still remember the funniest parts from it.
Great "Extra Feature"... RIP, Darren McGavin...
Ralphie got hoooooooooot
I just watched it with my family and we Loved it ❤! I would love to see more older style classic type films make a comeback ❤
This movie became a tradition for myself my kids and my MOM! From the first year it showed we were hooked! The kids are all grown and MOM passed away two yrs ago😞 now every time I see it I just break down and cry! But I still HAVE to see it every year! We bought the ten yr commemorative CD coplete with little Ralphie bobble head! I cherish it as one of the fondest memories that I will have as long as I live!
We turn it on when it starts on tbs and don't turn it off til its over.. we probably sit down and watch it from beginning to end at least once :) I actually watched it during Christmas in July lol
Great look at the actors and the back story. I can't wait to see the new sequel this year.
Scott Farkus was the best bully classic
I thought everyone looked a bit young. This is about 20 years old as director Bob Clarke died in 2007.
Love the movie. Love to watch it 24 hours on Christmas day when I can....Never get tired of watching it and reciting the
lines in the movie. Best Christmas move EVER! Hey now if you don't like the movie, I'll shoot your eye out kid.
R.D. Robb is a trip even as he got older lol.
This one’s a Holiday Favourite in our house. We’ve even been on vacations with A Christmas Story theme. Went to the house and town square in Cleveland as well as the school in St Catherine’s and other filming locations in Toronto
I can't wait for the brand new Christmas Story sequel. And yes, some originals are returning.
Ralphie!!! I looove him. He does look the same.
FRAAH_JEEE_LEH. LOL. This movie is glorious indeed.
Hard to believe this was filmed 20 years ago for the 20th anniversary! 40 years!?!where does the time go? This "behind the scenes " is as funny as the movie!
The comparison to the enduring legacy of "It's a Wonderful Life" is apt. We raised our children and grandchildren on "A Christmas Story" and I expect the tradition will continue with their children.
I'd love to see another one of these now, 40 years later!
part 2 is coming this year. in a few weeks actually on HBO max
@@drinkingpoolwater
What I meant to say is, this video. What the actors themselves are doing, like, "Peter" and the other boys. Here we are 40 years later, what are they all up to now?
Thanks you, for your help! ☺️
It will be very hard to duplicate this masterpiece 😉
I miss Christmas like this.
I LOVED RALPHIE!! Such a crush🥰
this movie is my absolute favorite movie EVER! i watch it at least 3 times a year. last year, i got a projector for xmas, i i set it up right away and played this movie on it as the first movie i played on it, forced my family to watch it with me, and my mom has had enough of it, lol i dont care. i have it on vhs, i no longer own a vcr, i have it on dvd i no longer own a dvd player, i own it on youtube as well. LOVE IT FOREVER! in regards to the leg lamp, i played secondlife for years, and i had one in the game. was my favorite lamp lol
Best old time movie !!!!! ❤️🎁😘 I watch it every every year makes me so happy again .
Love this! These candid interviews make this movie all the more worth its weight in gold!!
grew up in the town that was based on Hammond in. went to harding school
Peter Billingsley ("Ralphie") was in "Iron Man" as the scientist who tells Jeff Bridges that they aren't able to duplicate Tony Stark's work, and gets chewed out... He's a producer now...
And was in the last spider-man movie far from home.
PETER BILLINGSLEY WAS ABLE TO ACT THIS SCENE OUT IN IRON MAN! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!
I have a full size Pac-Man game in my office and I love that thing.
I'm from Michigan this was so much included in the Christmas Season we could identify with the snow the tongue stuck to the pole 😆 lol the dinner This movie will always be a classic👍❄🎄🎅🎁
The guy who played the bully looks like one of the back street boys
Next year, A Christmas Story will be 40 years old, so this clip was probably produced in 2003.
This is my childhood. I watch it several times every single holiday
Wow, even Halloween and Thanksgiving? That is dedication.
My grandkids love this movie!!!!!😍
I do not say fragile the normal way
I say like the father and im proud to do it
Oh and i have a leg lamp
LOVE this movie! watch it every year!
My brothers and I thought we were in heaven one year. We had a stomach bug early in the day and my mom wouldn’t take us to my aunts for Christmas dinner but she hadn’t prepared for dinner so we ordered Chinese from the local store! It was almost just like the movie!
Not one single mention of the great Jean Shepherd, without whos genius this movie wouldnt be possible!
