i always thought of the celestials as more of an in universe explanation for why a change a writer is making to a story, rather than actual characters.

Marvel really needs to have someone to over see the cosmic landscape so we don’t have everyone making contradicting origins all the time for different things that already have origins. Or at least have someone to do an ultimates approach and consolidate everything into one.
That role used to belong to Mark Gruenwald(RIP). He was basically the guy you went to in order to make sure you stayed canon. The character of Mobius(Marvel's Loki)is based on him. No one since has picked up that mantle.

The celestials are indeed one of the very untapped potentials of the Marvel Universe other than the points in which you have pointed out they have been there or otherwise been plot points there's no real character to them beyond what you've described

I not gonna lie marvel has really interesting lore than just superheroes doing superhero things. Marvel should really tap into all this lore and flesh it out to its fullest like how star trek or star wars or warhammer 40k and SCP foundation or even something as simple as a dectective story or a horror story. It doesn't have to be superheroes. Image comics does this where they use the multiverse mechanic and have different stories that aren't always superheroes as well as other indie comic publishers. Infinite universes can equal infinite possibilities when handles properly since a multiverse is a plot mechanism.
I mean... duh. They literally created the Eternals. That's obviously the most interesting thing about them, it's essential to understanding how they fit in the universe. Also, pretty sus to have a known human trafficker and child abuser as your name and avatar.

FYI, the "heat death" of the Universe is when the Universe expands and everything eventually fizzles out because no more sources of creating energy (aka stars) are made and it just exists in a cold dark state. The "Big Crunch" is another possible state where there is enough matter/energy in it to halt and reverse the expansion. Lastly the "Big Rip" is where there's too much dark energy and it expands to the point where everything is quite literally ripped apart even down to the nuclear level of atoms.
As far as I know, neither the big crunch or rip is believed to be possible these days. Too much dark energy for the crunch, but not enough for the rip.
@@sgtstull Crunch probably not, rip is kind of on the edge, based on our current understanding (which absolutely is infancy level) then no. However if we find out dark energy grows over time, or the expansion accelerates then possibly so. That said, just wanted to correct what was said in the video, although I could have sworn I heard him say this before.
@@Mike__B from what I understand, dark energy does accelerate in proportion to empty space but within a certain range gravity is still stronger. So, galaxies clusters will forever get farther apart but the clusters themselves will stay together.

The way you describe the Infinity Gauntlet in this video and Avengers/New Avengers makes me think that the MCU didn't really do it justice. Makes me think of what Ultron says about Vibranium, how it's potential was wasted.

I want to see the Celestials as well but don't expect too much. They're most likely to make a very brief appearence as the movie is mainly on the Eternals not the Celestials.
I mean. Its honestly the opposite. Eternals had a crazy amount of impact on stories, music, technology and culture. Celestials are cool but to say Eternals had no impact defeats the purpose of the film.
Celestials, Knull, basically all the cosmic entities have the same background "At the beginning there was nothing, only (insert cosmic entity), he/she/it created the multiverse, created someone to protect/observe the multiverse, he/she/it created humans,etc....". 😁✌🏼
Essentially there is the one above all who created the first firmament in the void which constisted of the original eternity and infinity and it created the cosmic entities who spread life such as the aspirants, the builders and the gardners but the first firmament had become arrogant and thought itself supreme and so the one above all created his avatar in the form of the vulkrum and he tought aspirants who would join him the meaning of existance was to have a finnallity. This sparked a civil war among the the aspirants which ended in the creation of the multiverse and the formation of the celestials and the flight of the first firmament which most likely became Perpetua. These new universes would be blessed with meaning for they would know death and nothingness and rebirth in the form lady death, the inbetweener and oblivion and their aspects like the phoenix force, the black winter, Abraxas, galactus, knull, the chaos king, the void and the individual gods of death like Hela these together create a delicate balance in keeping the multiverse existing and reincarnating while being overseen by the living tribunal who speaks in the judgement of the one above all. All of it orchistrated by the one above all and his own reflection the one below all.

There was a Silver Surfer comic where the Living Tribunal gave someone a tour through the dreaming celestial. And explain some stuff to whoever they were talking to. I don't remember who it was. It was like just a bit of extra story at the end of the comic
It kinda saddens me that the eternals are given so much hate. I personally believe this will be another avengers age of Ultron situation, where the fruits of the movie itself will shine through in later media, with the lore and foreshadowing it produces.
I dont know if you played it yet but the guardian of the Galaxy game would be cool to see a video done on since it seems to follow the comic instead if the movies . Also it introduces someone in the second half that most people who only watched the movies won't know
The dweller in darkness is in Shang chi I assume it's a lesser version itself and the rings pulsing is most likely calling the greater version of itself and the celestials will have to battle it or Galactus who is also said to arrive in mcu
I thought that each time the multiverse is destroyed then, out of the void a new multiverse comes into being. And that the black winter, the void (sentry), knull the dweller in the darkness and 3 more (don’t know who) originate from those “rebirth” voids. Possibly a small independent aspect of oblivion.
You should wedge the origin of the sky fathers earlier into the celestial story. By the time we get to the 3rd host I had to look up like “Who are *these* guys?” Lol

I loved how the Earth X explanation is now canon more or less. I used that concept in my DC/Marvel video.
