Even after all that fatal injuries from Akaza, he fought muzan. Lost an arm , got more injuries and still standing on hes feet after the battle is over. Hes durability on whole another level

Just because he didn't survive through the selection in a proper way it doesn't mean he is fake. If he was fake then he would be continuing as a demon slayer not a hashira. He became a hashira because he trained hard for that, and yes he never expected to be as good as sabito. But he was not fake.

And then Giyuu kept in contact with the Kamado family and apparently loved to send Nezuko all kinds of gifts and jewelry
I heard he did that because when giyu was in a coma after the final battle his haori was damaged and ripped a lot. While he was in a coma nezuko mended it for him and called him out everyday to wake up. And after he did wake up he saw his haori fixed and gave nice kimonos and other gifts as a thank you to the point where zenitsu started considering the giyu was an enemy

My favorite part was definitely when Akaza acknowledged Giyuu strength. He basically said the same thing to Giyuu that he said to Kyojuro: that only the chosen can become demons, and he saw the same potential in Giyuu that he saw and Kyojuro

Sabito was the reason Giyuu is alive. Sabito was speedrunning the Final Selection and solo'ing every demon, but later died from the Hand Demon. He was the reason he is a Hashira. He also said in the manga that he didn't want to become a Hashira and wanted Sabito to become one instead of him.
@@brahho8618 that doesnt make him fake. He earned his way to becoming a hashira but what he means by fake is that Giyuu considers himself unworthy of being the water pillar, believing it belongs to Sabito.

giyu isnt a fake and even though sabito defended him and he died which also led to giyu surviving the final selection but after that he climbed to the top of the ranks with his own strength
With all of the comments of “wdym he’s fake” and all of that, for clarification I thought was obvious, he means he never truly cleared final selection and Giyu himself knows if sabito didn’t die he would’ve been the water hashira. However, since both of them knew water breathing Giyu became the hashira instead. Even if he’s one of the best hashira now that wasn’t the point of the video. Hope everyone who commented that can understand.

Everyone talking about Giyu not being considered a Hashira, while I'm just gonna go off topic. What if they kept one demon (a nice demon such as Nezuko or Lady Tamado) alive so they can be the healers of the world? Like, if there's a problem with someone's physical health, boom, demon. And then they can change them back instantly once they healed. It's the best healthcare system in the world!

The sky was full of clouds and yes, clouds can stop sunlight enough for demons to not burn and Giyuu himself said it in the first ep.

And Nezuko can survive the direct full sunlight, so a weakened sunlight (like covered by clouds) doesn't affects her
