@Blake Yarbrough just got a pair of 450 cinders from stockx and I had major concerns about them being fakes. I was told they're not but idk... I also got a pair of flighposites from them like 5 years ago and I always thought they were fakes too. Never got those verified but they looked like shit from the jump.
Bro, “authenticating” is FAR from an “exact” science. Whether it’s check check, or StockX, or some random sneaker store owner, the bottom line is that authentication is nothing more than an OPINION. I have a pair of bloodlines that I have run through check check FIVE times. They came back NOT PASS all five times. Funny thing is that i am the original owner, and they were bought and shipped FROM NIKE.

This actually cracks me up, and makes me sad at the same time. The sad part is this dude seems genuinely sad and anyone that pays for something should get what they pay for. I’m laughing because fakes have got so good it’s nearly impossible to tell the difference. So why keep being materialistic in the most expensive way possible? It gives your ego a boost because you know you have “real” shoes. But what makes something real? The material, the look, feel?
I can’t speak for others but for me personally it’s just about my love for sneakers. I want the real thing. I agree fakes have gotten really good and on some you really can’t tell a difference. In this situation I paid for authentic sneakers and so that’s what I expected to get. I knew I could get fakes much cheaper but didn’t want to do that. I care more about the story and all that it’s not just having the style of sneaker. I’ve been following the Tom Sachs collabs for awhile, really like the design and reasoning he makes things the way he does.

Thank you for sharing this story. My suggestion is don't worry so much about it. There is hardly a difference between a good fake and the real one. You found out while making this video. In fact, if it's a nike shoe, the fake ones come from the people that make or used to make real nike shoes. From a psychology perspective, we are human beings that don't really note these small differences anyways. You were convinced they were real. Most of the design looks the same. Even the real ones can have factory defects. Shoes are also cheap to make at the end of the day. The real problem is Nike not filling in demands for their shoes. I'm sure they can do preorders to take back profit from resell sites like Stock X. If it was me, I would keep that one and move on. You said the money was a lot. I agree. Another pair isn't worth it because the real one isn't better than the fake. I also recall Tom Sachs wearing fakes himself and encouraged others to do the same. Wearing a fake version of his shoes is like the real thing then in a way.

I’ve had a lot of good transactions on StockX. Probably over 30-40. But this one is a huge L and ruins everything for me personally.
Well especially if its an expensive item like that. They make more money based on the price of the item, so they should use more of the profit spending more time making sure it is legit. because other than legit checking, the rest of the process is the exact same for every shoe. So if they dont spend extra time legit checking expensive items, why would the fees be so much more than a 200$ item. other than legit checking there is no difference in the labor between an 1500$ shoe and a $200 shoe. It reminds me of how ridiculous it is, that we think we have to tip someone more money for serving us a plate of surf and turf, opposed to a plate of eggs and toast. Not like more work is required based on what is on the plate.

1.- If you buy a sneakers from a platform, sneaker store or person you always have to get a second option about the authenticity of your shoes
2.- We are humans, we make a lot of mistakes but we have to assume the consequences and do something about it
3.- We have to enjoy things based on the felings, experiences, emotions, etc. Not based on their intrinsic value

This really shows how silly sneaker culture is. StockX is selling or allowing fake shoes to be sold, people are wearing them thinking they're real and not complaining, someone is trying to sell a shoe that's been worn for two years for almost double the price it was bought for, and someone was willing to buy it. Yet if you knowingly wear fake shoes some people will try to clown you.
Yeah some of us didn't program though and only buy fakes unless I really want shoe and or to keep it preserved
I got a pair of dunks from stock x and first thing I did was slap it on check check, luckily it passed. This type of thing is my biggest fear buying shoes from any type of reselling app, person or store.
Yeah I always inspect shoes I buy online but I will be checking much more thoroughly now.

I just realized stockx is helping people who make fake shoes by giving them a place to test how good their counterfeits are. All they have to do is keep making adjustments until it passes through an authentication as a legit pair.
StockX should send you a new (REAL) pair together with a letter of apology.

The last sneaker I sold to StockX they refused bc they said there were “markings” on it and they send a photo of my pair with crazy sharpie marks on them.
They drew on my shoes that were 100% sharpie-free when I sent them, and then charged me 15% and return shipping

ive been doing business with stockx for 4 years, recently it has been going down hill. they have been passing more worn/ tried obviously shoes as ds and shoes with major defects as DS.
I think I started using them around 2017, I don't really remember. I haven't really had any big issues besides this. I think their customer service has always been really trash, I don't know why they can't improve upon that. It sucks because it's such a convenient way to buy/sell sneakers but then things like this happen and gives them a bad reputation.

Check the inside of the box. No writing on the interior and the the tabs on the inside of the lid don't have the correct color. Also the "ribs" are showing on the cardboard. Much more obvious than on the legit boxes.

Companies like Nike need to come up with some type of serial number engraved in the shoe or something that the fakers can't make which will make authentication that much easier

I still believe majority of sneakers from StockX are authentic. However, they have made mistakes and it seems more risky to buy from them than maybe Goat or another 3rd party seller. In regard to the physical tag, please let him know the coolest part is cutting that ugly thing off haha. Not to be worn as an accessory 👌🏼😂

I wasn’t about spend any more money on Stock-X after some really poor experiences, but this is just further confirmation that they should not be trusted. We use these platforms to provide oversight and peace of mind to the buying process as most times were spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. So when one of the platforms repeatedly fucks up, we as a a community gotta stand together to de-legitimize that platform, so that others won’t be exposed to the lack of accountability and professionalism.

Stockx is just used by TikTok white girls and they don’t bother to further legit check their shoes after they buy so they assume it’s legit cuz stockx
Well the box is fake. The inside is missing all the writing and the part that is folded inward on the lid is red (also missing the writing) where it should be white like on all other nike red boxes. Also you can clearly see the "ribs" on the cardboard, with real boxes it's not as obvious as with this one. So yeah that sucks, especially after having paid so much for them.
Yeah from the other people that looked at these for me they said the same thing about the box. I appreciate your comment, definitely helps for anyone else who may be curious on how to legit check a pair of these.

I got a story for ya. 2 years ago. My stockx account was hacked, $5000 worth of horribly ugly designer shoes ordered to a different shipping address. Now luckily I have an app that notifies me everytime I spend money. After freaking out I looked for a way to get in touch with stockx and all they had was an email. Sent them an email and continued to freak out. 1 day passes no reply. I end up getting emails that items are starting to be shipped. My credit card company tells me I have to give stockx a certain amount of time to fix the issue. I believe I went a solid week without a reply. I live just across the border (canada) from detroit and through a co worker I happen to have met someone who works for google in Detroit(the same building as stockx) So I get his contacts and he tells me he will forward my details to someone he knows who works there. Then and only then do I quickly get a reply back from stockx. The lack of customer service is a joke and so is their commitment to the security of their customers. It's a shame because sneaker culture is fucking whack and the only way to get most silhouettes is to buy it resale from some clown who botted up and got them shits so he could flip 'em on stockx.

I’ve had GOAT send me back a pair of shoes that I bought from them. I never even removed the shoe trees on them and GOAT said they had wear. They were J5 Michigan’s. STOCKX said a pair of my shoes were not legit but sent them back to me beat the hell out of. The heel was so beat up there’s no way I can resell the shoe as DS. I’m not sure what they were doing with the shoe. I’m glad eBay is back in the game. It will put pressure on GOAT and SUCKX to get right.
That's really frustrating to hear. Its crazy how many different stories have been shared in just a week of this video being posted. I have been a eBay member for a really long time. Haven't used it much for shoes but anytime that I have there hasn't been any issues. Definitely curious to see how they do with their own authentication process as well. Thanks for the comment!

This is exactly why I stopped buying from stockx and goat. I’d rather get a pair at an authentic retailer, than have to guess and keep having that thought in the back of my head if the shoes I just bought from goat are real or not. And if I really wanted that shoe and couldn’t get it, then oh well 😂

I was scammed bad by Stockx for the 700 Wave Runners. I bought them in February 2021. When they arrived, I cut the tag and put them in my back in the box to wear the next day. I never wound up wearing them though. Last month, I tried to sell them back to Stockx because the price is high now, and they're going to re-release in August. They failed verification for being fake. Then they sent the fakes back to me and charged me $15.
I am still livid. I'm not an authenticator. When I removed the Stockx tag, I placed my trust in them. How am I, a casual customer supposed to know they were fake? Email after email after email, customer service Tweets, Tweets to the Stockx founder, a certified letter to their corporate office... All I get are the same pre-written replies that tell me they basically don't care.

People think just because it says they sel 100% authentic stuff that fakes can’t get in , they shouldn’t guarantee that. It’s not stock x’s fault that fakes have gotten good but they shouldn’t advertise that whatever you buy is 100% authentic.
