Bay Area legend Barbara Dane was the real deal-she lived and breathed blues, gospel, and jazz, never confined by clichés. A fearless human rights activist and a key figure in San Francisco's Jazz Revival of the 1940s. Here's a moment from 1993, with Barbara Dane and the Hot Club of San Francisco, featuring the soulful soprano sax of Richard Hadlock and myself on guitar. "A Cottage for Sale" was included on the 1999 album 'Lady in Red' (out of print on Clarity Recordings).
