Back in 70s... Ian Paice is the first drummer who treated double bass that way and i think became the major influence to todays metal drummers He is definitely one of the greatest of all time.
He usually shunned the use of a double bass drum and the roadies would actually set up the second one just for Fireball which was why it wasn't often played live. It's a much easier set up now with a single drum and double pedal arrangement so I'm glad to see it's back in the set!! I go to see them supported by Judas Priest next week in Cincinnati and can't wait!! Ian Paice is my absolute drumming hero!!

Is a shame see a band so storicly epic like Deep Purple playing on a Hard Rock cafe ...Damn!!... they are in a level like , Stones, Beatles, Led Zep, Sabbath, Cream ... They are F*cking Royalty of Rock!!! ... Damn!

Its sad the master of all drummers is playing Pearl. His dynamic delivery was so Much better on Ludwig. I wonder how many old school drummers would agree.? ...anyway Paicey will always be number one either way.
You're right but to be honest I think Pearl kits lack character and the sound is just boring. I think Tama has always sounded best for fast dynamic playing, just look at drummers like dave lombardo, brann dailor or stewart copeland who all play Tama and sound incredible on it.

Paicey and Roger really power this song all the way through. Don's solo... not up to the level of Jon's. I don't know why he does that finger slapping thing with his left hand when he plays the Hammond. I see this on just about all the videos. It is not how I was taught how to play organ.
