I'm 71 also, and while some of the young performers are quite good , I still prefer the original artists much more. . Do you like the real Elvis or an Elvis impersonator? My advice to the young artists is stop covering and write your own music. Maybe someday people will imitate you.

Wow! Am sat teary-eyed (at 64 years old) after listening to this. Memories of my late father coming into my bedroom when I was listening to this album (LZ4) for the first time (about 1975). Didn’t hear his knock, as I always listened to an album with headphones the first time. The look on his face at my ‘rapture’ was ‘classic’. Just shrugged my shoulders and he shook his head and left. Amazing version and ‘respect’ to your musicians! ❤
Absolutely briliant cover which shows both your talent and the many hours you have all put into perfecting it. It brought back memories of when I first got my copy of the album shortly after its release and was completely blown away by it. It's like the first time my dad listened to knocking on heavens by guns and roses the remake of Clapton's song and started crying it just sticks with you. Awesome job... I still remember my older sister listening to this song over and over on a crappy old cassette player when we were vacationing on the shore of Lake Superior as kids. It is sort of a haunting memory, as it was pretty remote and peaceful place at the time. I was born in 1964, but it feels like my brain was born about 1971.

so i just listened to the above video for a second time to see if what you said is true. for the introductory, instrumental part of the video, you are right. there is definitely the sound of a flute to accompany the electric guitar and drums. however, once she starts singing, the flute goes away, and all i hear are the electric guitar and drums

That is simply not true. Summertime by George Gershwin and DuBose Heyward or Yesterday by the Beatles, depending on which source, has the distinction of being the most covered song. I didn't even see Stairway To Heaven listed; not even on a top 50 list.
The latent intent in this song is staggering. I can understand why it is challenging to open your eyes through this performance. Absolute respect for being able to perform it with the poise that you displayed.

That is probably one of the reasons I enjoy covers so much. I get to feel the intent of the performer layered with the intent of the creator(s). Very well done. This song is meant to show a slow but inevitable building in dynamics from start to finish. That is the magic of this legendary piece. The backup players are outstanding, a thumbs up to the guitar player. He would make Jimmy Page proud. The drummer is excellent, especially for this piece. If I may be bold enough to express just one negative, the middle portion of the music needs to dynamically build in volume a little more than expressed. With that said, this version of that legendary song is extremely well done. Thank you.

As a person of age that is I was around when this first came out and listened to it thousands of times, the guitar playing was absolutely spot on and so was the drumming, I was listening for faults like so many have done in the past, couldn’t find any. I’m rattling my brains trying to think of another female singing this song and I can’t, but it was so nice, you done it justice young lady, well done all of you.

Very well done. This song is meant to show a slow but inevitable building in dynamics from start to finish. That is the magic of this legendary piece. The backup players are outstanding, a thumbs up to the guitar player. He would make Jimmy Page proud. The drummer is excellent, especially for this piece. If I may be bold enough to express just one negative, the middle portion of the music needs to dynamically build in volume a little more than expressed. With that said, this version of that legendary song is extremely well done. Thank you.
