Nice review! Just watched your GMT tutorial too. My blueberry should be here this Wed or Thurs. Got my first Five just a couple weeks ago, the Kosuke Kawamura orange and aqua, from Topper Jewelers out of Burlingame CA ( HIGHLY recommend). I love that thing! Paid them $440 for the KK and $353 for the Blueberry, both shipped with tax. Couldn’t be happier. I’m more of a mid tier, 6r, Seiko SARB guy (have an 017, 033, 065, as well as a Gen 3 Monster) but I am impressed by these 5s.
Great video and everything you said is spot on from the watch to Seiko in general. I own this in black and love it. It was a super hard choice between the blue and the black. I ultimately decided to go black for the modding potential. All in all love this watch way more than the SKX and the bracelet is awesome! Super comfortable
Great video. I'm going to pick up the black dial variant. I'm hoping that Namoki will produce a case for this that's 200m water resistant with a screw-down crown. I'd put the rest of the GMT into that case with a dive insert and it'd be perfect
These are definitely compelling value. I will be interested to see how it's recent counterpart in Citizen with their new True/Traveler's GMT compares. Right now, what Citizen offers it very limited and not my style. But, maybe once they expand the use of it more and especially when more microbrands get to go to town with them has potential to be very exciting. I think the Miyota 9075 may cost a bit more. But, it may have 2 advantages over the Seiko 4R34. 1) More people have been wanting a more affordable true/traveler's GMT for a long time. 2) Presumably based off the 9000 caliber movement, it should be thinner and thus the overall case dimensions can be thinner. I mean they aren't that far off from ETA GMT movement thicknesses, and if Glycine has proved anything, they can get an automatic movement in a sub 11mm thick watch case in both their Airman and Combat Sub models. Also, to note, given the same basic functionality of this kind of Caller or Office GMT movement, Glycines offer a Swiss made GMT that can be had for not that much more than the new Seiko 5 Sports GMT... Roughly $500-600 new if you know where to shop. Still, happy to see Seiko offer an affordable GMT movement finally. And, these Seiko 5 sports appear to have upped the general quality of the watch in both bracelet as well as alignment issues... Don't quote me on the latter.. but, so far, I haven't heard of anyone complaining about alignment issues in these yet with the chapter ring..luckily for the bezel, it's an infinitely adjustable bidirectional friction bezel so it can always be fine tuned to be aligned. LumeShot has an excellent new video on modding info regarding these new GMTs. I'd probably wait to mod one. 1, it's a brand new watch and so why fix if it ain't broke. 2, not enough aftermarket parts available just yet.. at least not the most important ones which includes the GMT hand, dial, and bezel components.. they aren't exactly compatible with the current SKX/5KX stuff. So, maybe when more choices in aftermarket parts are available one should consider modding it. I To be clear, I'm not hating on these new Seiko 5 GMTs. I have admit I'm waiting for the inevitable outpouring of colors and special editions etc.. I would be interested in a Pepsi bezel version... And, as u mentioned to reference GS I would love one that mirrored that GS GMT that has the Blue/White bezel... Idont have the ref#, but, u probably know the one cause it's a stunner.
I bought this waych and daily it. I actually prefer a caller gmt on an automatic. It has 40 hour power life so if I put it down for two days and have to adjust the time the gmt movement easily adjusts with it after a wind
22mm lugs, sorry for the typo in the intro
Ordered this watch today from my local AD . I should have it in a week. Can’t wait 😁
This would be my first choice of the three and the Orange is amazing 🤩 as well 👍🏻

This would be my choice from the 3 Seiko GMT versions. Belmont Watches is also where I purchase my watches in San Diego.

I was thinking the same. Although I do like that bezel insert
I just found one for $200 pre-owned on eBay. Fingers crossed it’s the real deal.
Good watch for what it is, a beater GMT that looks good too. Paid $365 for a blue one and $340 for a black one.
That’s a really good price, luck you

does citizen use solar eco drive or a miyota movement? either way I prefer this

Elegant and stylish perfect model for man
These look good! Thanks for the review 👊
Nice review! A great watch at a good price. Just waiting to see what the watch modders will do to this!
literally retrofit everything from the skx
Like that it comes with a jubilee
Great review.
Discount from Belmont If I mention your channel?
Can't hurt to ask!
@@AverageBros been speaking with Anthony, but just saw this video and verified the legitimacy of BW. Dammm watch is gorgeous btw
Just picked up from anthony today, Thank you for the review watch is amazing in person!
LUG WIDTH 19MM…..NICE :)
I see your chapter ring is also missing aligned..? Seems they all are. What a shame
I really need a screwdown crown...
The disadvantage is that the glass scratches very easily.
I've never been able to scratch any Hardlex crystals
So true: “Typical Seiko fans…”
The dial is a screw in crown ? This seiko watch made in Japan or China?
Watch the video
No Saphire, no screwdown crown, no ceramic bezel insert and then: THIS price??? NO! NEVER! Seiko is out!
@Zonediver
I don't think Seiko give a fuck what you think. They're selling like crazy
@@pokie6087 Who cares, what they sell...
@@Zonediver
Clearly you care which is why you commented.
So don't buy it then. Jeez
You're right, Seiko used to be a king in some models, especially the 5 series... 😢
No sapphire, means a pass from me
Seiko....boycott seiko beurk seiko. .beurk
youre going to trigger watch nerds calling this a travelers watch.
