02:25 oh man... the people of Clovis must be proud. 05:21 Millbrae in the house (my home town). 17:47 shocked to hear they do not currently have right-of-way for the 119 miles currently under construction. 29:40 I like this guy 👍
Lol the exposition of the DVD box was very entertaining. Yeah, Brian sounds like a great guy to spend time with. I’m glad the project has someone like him in charge.
Create a tourist tax on non-CA residents. An extra $100 on top of those Disneyland tickets for those families already spending $3k for a disney trip. If the federal government won't step in. We have to get creative on finding ways to extract funding from the US that we give more in taxes than we get back in return.
Challenge the federal government for triple the funding.....California shouldn't have to do this alone when US government can step in as well. We do pay state and fed income taxes after all. We should be getting a good deal on our money worth. Then use more of the added funds to have a day and grave yard shift crew working on the project 7 days a week 24/7. 👍 Statewide California High Speed Rail 👍 Regional Maglev in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California 👍
@@scootwilson2975 Malcolm might be hinting at the excellent track record of high speed rail which is currently being built in mainland China at a lightning speed. However Malcolm might be unaware of the racist stereotype of the Chinese immigrants which built out much of the railway infrastructure in the western USA in the 19th century, under horrible labor conditions and exploitation, which indeed cost many their lives and limbs without and reconciliation from their white American bosses.
We are currently operating with 1000 workers n average per day on site and 6000 total workers. For comparison the Chinese railway from Beijing to Shanghai used around 10x the number of workers. The average American worker is more productive than a Chinese worker(due to tech and advanced project management at the micro level) and Luis labor is cheap in China and there is no private contractors greedy for money. The state controls everything even if it means uprooting people. . If we put more money in and trained more workers we could get the project done faster
Hurry up with the construction. I want to travel on the high speed trains between L.A. and S.F. by next month! :/
