Not 100% but, I believe the mechanical detachable's require air ride suspension. A spring ride truck would need a ground bearing hydraulic detachable, which picks the trailer tongue up with a hydraulic cylinder.
Can you do a video showing the drivers side so we can see the pin and air line disconnect?

so what if the semi suspension is old, like using leaf spring, could it be done ?
