I too tutched a 230v wire once but it’s honestly not that bad Or maybe it wasn’t as bad because my shoes are isolated but most people working with electricity have good shoes so op may have exaggerated
That last story - It's not the volts that get you, it's the amps. Usually through something that 230V is running through you will have anything from 10 to 20 Amps. In the US your home power, even though is 120V, is wired with a combination of 15 and 20 amps. Here in Australia, where we run on 240V you are looking at 10 to 20 amps but its usually 10A. OP in that story was lucky he didnt grab the wire and just got a contact burn where his hand grazed the wiring. If he had grabbed the wire, then he definitely wouldnt be here today to tell the story because that power would have gone across his body in its travel to earth via the ladder, assuming the ladder is metal, and even then if not would still cause massive injuries.
Should've gotten a deposit. But, I ADORE story #2, and it's understandable and a good thing to want to trust that people will be honest and decent. Too bad you simply can't...😢
Story 5. Just want to get this straight. Because someone (yes it was a little rude) asked you a question you decided to force her to wait for you and the clerk to finish talking about Batman? Honestly I’d report the clerk to her manager for not doing her job, (yes I worked at Walmart for several years and taking too long to ring someone up can get you in trouble)
Story 11: Yeah, 220 volt AC is no joke. That can kill you in a heartbeat. OP was goddam lucky.
Thanks for the stories Steven. Have a good night

But higher voltage will conduct higher amps through your body. US 120v is much safer than 230v, but it is still potentially deadly
The second story
Be unpleasant to others, have unpleasant things happen to you. == Karma

You're not a jerk you're standing on principle and putting it right in their fees their the jerks they should have paid
What?
