That wholly depends on whatever the official competition is. The likes of Baldur's Gate 3 is one notable example.
Not gonna lie it was kind of boring. Venom stuff was so cringy, last boss was the worst of the game.
The game was better when it was about Kraven to be honest.
Also no new game plus after completing? No weather or time of day changes?
White tendrils with every black suit due to anti venom? No angry Peter dialogue with the black suits after completion? Crimes are 95% symbiote cronies after completion? Cant replay enemy bases like in the first two games with cool challenges like 100hit combo etc? Have to reach high levels just to unlock old costumes? Miles last suit being actually embarrassing? Story being pretty short overall and feeling like less happened? Killing off majority of old villains especially off screen just seemed lazy.
We watched a trailer showing all the heroes and villains on the map of nyc and hardly any of them appear. Black cat mission was done in a second, nothing with prowler, Yuri side quest was way too short after the whole build up.
I dunno about game of the year, the game is good but far from perfect, I could go on. I think it was overhyped.
One thing I’d like to add is that Peter’s web shooters’ sound effect is different to Miles’.
Same. I feel like the high end is a bit too harsh for petes thwip. I’d love an exact copy of the raimi webs cuz man were they gooey and delicious

The damage on the suit is proportional to your health and it really follows along, like it starts with minor scratches and burn marks and gets more and more damaged the lower your health gets
Imagine if they have that with wolverine, but instead, you witness his healing in full detail, like in origins wolverine but with better visuals

For the grave visits, Pete’s dialogue changes based on the point in the story too (i.e., the symbiote’s affect on his personality). Also shoutout to Miles just casually giving away his identity at 10:38
That jump transition with the symbiote suit was so cold
About suit damage - if you use classic Webbed (Raimi/Maguire) suit it does get damaged, but the Black Webbed suit doesn't, as it's made out of symbiote. That's crazy!
No symbiote suit has a damage model. Even the miles ones. However the raimi symbiote doesn't change Peter's UI or traversal powers like the other suits.

@@VladK95 it doesn't have a damage model. Just it gets damaged in the last fight. But it's a unique damage. Even miles suit damages differently than the last fight.
I love how you used a more Peter-ish Miles suit in the second detail to make the two a closer match.
I really like how the old fisk tower is now the Baxter building and it's the first confirmation of the fantastic 4 in this universe and the black panther tribute
Some NPC’s have full conversations or monologues that sometimes lasts for minutes at a time… the amount of “random” dialogue in this game is insane!
They really nailed the Fast Travel !!!
Another visual detail is the buildings actually have NPCs in the windows going about their lives. Other than the 3D interiors, having people in the building working and living adds more depth to the world.
Such a phenomenal game. Insomniac really put so much in for us.
Fun detail that i noticed is that when u fight Sandman, even tho Miles is in invisible mode the Sandman clones still can notice Miles when he's stepping on the sand (sorry for the bad English)

The fact that there's now different versions for dialogue during gliding is so cool. Can't imagine how much time it takes to record all of them.

Finally. This game is jam packed with details and easter eggs.
To add to the last one about visiting May and Jefferson Davis' graves. At the southern end of the same cemetery, you can find the graves of Rick and Phin Mason, the Tinkerer. But there is no interaction or animation that is triggered. You just see graves and they look newer than all the other ones. It has Phin's DOB listed as 2002, implying that she would have been 21, implying that Miles would be 21, given they were classmates of the same class and graduation year.
and yet the game says miles is 17 in the recap. insomniac needs to fix something
the game does not take place in 2023
It’s so cool how the spider verse suit has the same frame rate of the movies (i know it was already introduced in Miles Morales)
I think it’s cute you can visit May and Ben’s graves with Miles and Jeff’s grave with Peter. Miles and May knew each other a little from feast and Peter and Jefferson of course worked together for a little while. That’s sweet.
So resting is obviously normal but I noticed that you can hear more of the struggle in Pete’s voice when he’s swinging…for obvious reasons and when gliding he doesn’t seem tired but kinda out of breath it would make sense considering wind is flying in his face at 10,000 ⚡️miles⚡️ an hour

The way you swing around makes it looks so fun, even more than some of the “swinging compilation” videos I’ve seen. Nice job
Also you can stop while gliding by moving L button back and pressing O twice at the same time.
He kind of open his web wings upfront in between and make a stop.
I figured this by chance while trying to stop at tech part boxes.
So that's how you do it!

Another one; when you pick up the mortage invoice the first time you're at Peter's house, you see the street address 15 AmFan Avenue, as in Amazy Fantasy 15
A cool detail would be in photo mode. You can change the emotes of every spider character (ie his eyes!) which means that evenn the suits that do NOT have expressive lenses, still offer expressions. Try it with the raimi suit, for example. Pretty neat they added the detail of stretching lenses/mask.
Peter reaction becomes different in the open world when the symbiote evolve and i think the game has different dialogue depend what you do in the game like in emily and may foundation if didn't feed the fish it will be different when feed it or when the first mission in the flames i think if you didn't fight them before his reaction will be different bec when i fought them he said i fought this before and good job man
That Homerun dialogue was so extra, I love it!
If you will use photo mode during your first flashback in a May’s house, you can see on a Pete’s computer a chat with Harry about their “Heal the world” school project. And a web page about designing a presentation. I was blown away when I saw this!
The detail with the Jewish NPC's also exist in Gta 4 , they've really doubled down on the details and "SYMBIOTE" .
Didn't know about it being in GTA 4, though It wouldn't surprise me since it is Rockstar we're talking about.

Knowing Miles keeps a dry plain bagel somewhere in that costume is so cursed
There are actually 4 dialog versions.. when you hold L2 and X, he tensions the web to be shooted like a slingshot. As the spider needs to exert force due to the tension of the web, the dialogs sound different.
Another thing I noticed, kinda fun, is the written on the wine bottles, something like "It guarantees strong headache" haha
Just a small correction. 6:03 it's not a xylophone, it's a Marimba. Great video!!!
The Classic Black Symbiote suit will make a fist 👊 when swinging around too if you didn't notice
Some of these details I already knew about. Like the fact that I can water ski, and the smooth web-swinging!
This game is an absolute masterpiece.
The first time since Witcher 3 and LOU2 that I enjoyed a game so much.
I remember swinging and stopping to rest on top of a random rooftop to go through the FNSM app then I look down at the roof and see and the big blue and white and legit said the words “HOLY SHIT” 😂
How is the sound so damn good and detailed in every of your videos? There are plenty of game sounds I can hear in the video but not while I'm playing. Thats some good quality video details.

Nice video. I’ve seen in another video, I think it’s the most rare random detail, where Miles bumps into a person on the street and he dropped his phone in the sewer and you can web the phone back to the person, Miles even say something about it.
