- Shankar Mahadevan talks to Kaushiki Chakraborty about her musical upbringing and rise to popularity in Hindustani music. The session ended up with students of the Shankar Mahadevan Academy getting a Riyaz session with both the greats.

Shankar Mahadevan Academy was founded in 2011 by Bollywood singer and composer, Shankar Mahadevan and technology entrepreneur, Sridhar Ranganathan to bring Indian music education to the masses. Shankar Mahadevan Academy (SMA) is the first school for Indian music in the world to bring high quality Indian music education through live, online classes.
Our mission is to spread the Joy of Music.

As rightly said, she is definitely a queen of saragam,and has been blessed with such amazing, melodious voice that she takes us every one into trance... What is much more appreciable about her is she being so humble, polite and down to earth. Vidya vinayena shobhate.. Her devotion, determination and dedication has brought her to this stage. She is just superb and amazing. I would request shankar sir to make few classical films with these stars, like the katiyar...

Nd what shankar ji said is really a real fact that "the way kaushiKi ji sings sargam nd taan in today's time not any classical singer is singing sargams like this. Even the artists who are very senior then kaushiki Chakraborty , even they are not singing such drut sargams and taans like her. Nd this is one of the most imp. reasons that made me to start listening to her on a regular basis. kaushiKi ji me bahut si baatein hain jo present time me unhe dusre classical singers se zada popular bnati hain. She's really a very different nd unique diamond of present classical music world. Salute to her. I will continue listening nd learning from her live performances of different khayal, thumris nd all.

Ab khtm hui h complete video. Nd really when i started listening to this online class of sangam 2019 really i was loving this very less but now I love this many times more thn i was loving b4 1 hour. A complete valuable material, a precious complete package of doing riyaz. Nd all this is sufficient for few months riyaz. Thank u so mch kaushiKi ji. We Love u a lot. kaushiKi ji se aamne saamne seekhne ko mile itni bhagyashali to me nahi hu mujhe malum he, but online unke performances ko hi sun k kam chla skti hu. Lekin performances are a ready material, vo utna help nhi krte, Jitna is trh eseonline lesson kam krte hain. We need such more raw material from you. I need such more lessons kaushiKi ji, I need your online classes. Plzz regular basis pr apni esi online class start kijiye na. Hame aap hi se seekhna h, me kya karu mujhe ap k siva kisi ka gana psnd h nh ata. Plzzz regularly esi online asses lijiye. Of different sargams, paltas, taans, bandishes. Plzzzzz. It's a request. I'm coming down on my knees nd jointing hands nd requesting u to plzz start regular online classes like this.
