A long time ago in places far far away there was races that was 100 miles long consisting of 25 miles loops through some of the nastiest terrain to be found.
Jedi Master Dave Coombs promoted a series called the 100 Miler Series but he had one special race known for infamous sections known as the bogs, the moon rocks, and hwy 93 to name a few. It became know as the "BLACKWATER 100".... 100 Miles of Mud & Blood....
Some never heard of that race series but in 1985 the name was changed to the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series that we know and love to this day!
