Whatever lag it gas in terms of technical edge, it more than makes up for with price and open endedness. Unfortunately, today's world is flashy where a person is more worried about posting and letting know entire world that he is having a muffin for breakfast rather than actually enjoying that muffin quietly alone. Thus in this age of glam, iPhone takes the cake because it has a (unjustly, imo) reputation of being superior to Android. Android is considered gareebo ka phone while iPhone is a status symbol in India. This is the primary reason, the status symbol one, why people are mad over iPhones in recent times.
