I actually like the new design, no real issue with the hose drain.
I would say the same, except the oil changes are messier for sure. That's just my view on it🤠
For oil changes I purchased a form a funnel and it’s been life changing for hard to reach small engines. Might be worth a shot with how frequently you are doing maintenance. Thanks for the video.
Ahh, I need to get me one of those!
Thank you for watching 👍
There is a rubber plug in the bottom that you can remove and run the drain hose through. My gripe is that the drain cap comes off too easy and that the wheels are too small.
I tried that rubber grommet, and put the hose through it. It's too tight! It kinked the hose wouldn't drain.
Yes, that cap is way to easy, and leaks constantly. I honestly prefer the older design, plus I feel I got more hours out of them too.

How many hours do you think you’re averaging out of these?
I was at a hot dog truck the other day,guy had a beat up Honda EU3000is.
I asked him how he liked it.he said “It’s 20years old and it just keeps putting along”.
I might bite the bullet and pay for that kind of reliability.
I'm averaging 3-5000 hours out of them. But, per the harbor freight employees... They always suggest getting the 1 year warranty and return it regardless of it's condition. So, for $100 you can have a new one every year.
Although, I would agree with that gentleman about Honda. The quality is probably superior to harbor freights, and built to last if maintained properly.

I just picked up the 5000 and I’m breaking it in now.At this point I’m only using them as emergency backups. In your case what you are doing is genius.
I hope to be off grid in two years. To be honest I have like seven generators because ai just feel you can never be prepared enough for what’s coming.
Nice! Have you had much run time with the 5000 predator? I e been considering upgrading to it, or even the 9000 so I can run my air compressor.
Definitely feeling the impending "doom" vibe. It's hovering like a thunderstorm ATM. Great work being prepared, hopefully they treat you well. And they're definitely great for off-grid! 👍
If you could find spare parts for the old one, could you swap them out on the new model?
I'm honestly not sure. I have not actually opened up the opposite side to see if the majority of the engine is the same. Might be completely different. You just gave me an idea 😉
