Honestly, semi-auto/full-auto weapons are some impressive feats of engineering. For all those moving parts to work so well as it is feels like a miracle already.
FAL, Armalite 15 Version of some sort, and Avtomat Kalashnikov varients are the top three most common rifles of the world, so truely a modern legend. Also just a beautiful gun for how simple it is
@@EsOoBaCtvp In addition to that, though, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the G3 is more robust design that will continue working long after the FAL in the places where such rifles are still likely to see use. I mean, even the Israelis found the FAL wanting in desert conditions, and I'm sure they took care of them.
A beautiful gun, and I certainly wouldn't mind owning one, but the fact is it's too large and powerful for its role. Also, it lacks the inherent potential for accuracy that redeems the M14 to some extent.

I think what you're asking for is the rod that pushes the bolt assembly back. That's the piston from the gas system. If you're talking about the "Stick" thing hanging on the side of the rifle that is the carrying handle,
I believe you are referring to the cocking handle. On the Canadian FN it was a hinged flat handle that folded flush to the rifle on the left. The carrying handle on the right.

Still a viable battle rifle today.
Absolutely
Particularly the modernized ones so you can get a good cheek weld with an optic and also add a light and IR laser set up.

Yeah I’m gonna say it g3 is better

Self loading, perhaps. It's washer the Mauser and its variants would take that cake of most common rifle.

Best rifle ever
That is incredible engineering
Dat short stroke gas piston, tho.
Giggity.

I’m not much of a gun expert (I know a bit about firearms) but it looks like the gewher 43 firing cycle.
Alot like an sks
like svt too

Короткий ход газового поршня и клиновый затвор. Надежная автоматика, но точность при автоматической стрельбе плохая.
The gun costs 6 grand to 20 grand. I already looked it up for those curious. 😊

FN FAL internally is almost an exact copy of an SVT rifle.
And the AK is almost an exact copy of an StG 44.
