Agree 100% about the blushes and eyeshadows in the same palette… it is off putting for me and reminds me of a Too Faced holiday palette I had in like 2015! My theory is the packaging was intended for Bridgerton III , but with the writers strike happening, the season is delayed so they used the packaging for holiday instead. What is really tempting me is the idea of that Celadon shade, but I’ll have to really understand the undertones and formula first. It’s the type of color I wanted the ND Retro Glam palette to be, this kind of muted jade color - but it turned out super cool toned and pastel which looked horrific on me 😢 Lunar Nightshade is a beautiful color story but again, not sure if I can pull off that sky blue unless it has some warmer shimmer/shift.
Hmmm interesting theory about the Bridgerton recycling. I always think we forget though that these collections are not a last minute kind of event. They have been in the making for probably a good year. Either way, it’s confusing because this packaging belongs with a Bridgerton collection.
@@mariam.a. Yes totally. The strike began in May 2023 though, so likely this collection was already in development for a while, packaging design and all? Season 3 is already filmed but now with the SAG strike as well, SAG actors cannot promote it so maybe it would’ve aired already otherwise. Second theory is that the Bridgerton packaging is simply more appealing to the masses and they know it. I would love an insider scoop of what goes on behind the scenes over there! 😂

i need to do more outfit-eyeshadow matching, it looks so good here. I'm kinda pleased about this collection, because I do kinda want some pink metallic/glitter shades from Pat (forgive me, i haven't been buying from her for that long) but i've held off on the most recent mothership because i don't wanna pay AUD230 for a palette with no baked shades. No I can just pick up one or two of the quints instead.
As someone who went head over heels as soon as the collection was announced (the Lunar Nightshade quint and the mega palette with the two pops of green are so so so appealing to me), this meeting was very eye opening 😍😍😍 You always give food for thought
The packaging is what is really hitting me sideways. Is the target demographic pre-teens!!!???? When I think of PML products, I think edgy, modern, classy etc. They are dropping the ball, big time. And I second the motion that the blushes in the eyeshadow pallet was a bad idea. But the FOMO is real and I will be purchasing the lot, minus mascaras and blush/bronzers.
The holiday packaging is just baffling to me as well. I could barely tolerate it for Bridgerton, but for the holidays, it just looks tacky. What is going on with the taste level over at PMG!?
Tacky, tacky is exactly what I thought! Mixing the blushes with the palettes is not cool. What if the blushes aren't the colors we like and then it's wasted product and money.
Have been looking forward to your commentary on this release. Firstly, I think PML are giving customers the greens they have been asking for - so that’s nice. Do I want to add anything to my collection? No. But I will enjoy watching you explore it. Also, as a side note, that RMS blush is way more exciting - love it!!
Yes I had the same thought re: greens. I just wish they were in her baked formula, as I am not sure these are going to give me more sparkly wet-shine iridescent green than my Clionadh shades already do. The more I think about it, the more I’m unsure if I’ll spend the money on this collection.

I can't believe I missed the emergency meeting! I feel the same about the mega palettes. I dnt need anymore blushes at all from PM. I have every shade she has released including the duo blushes and the 2 holiday quad palettes w highlighter and the Bridgerton trios. Yeah, that's an insane amount of blush. But because I'm a collector and I love her eyeshadows I will be getting the full quint and Mega palette collection. I dnt think I'll be getting any of the trios but that may change. If I do pick one up it will be the one with Bronze Nirvana becasue I LOVE that bronzer! I'm light med skin ( I wear 2N-3N in Dior) if that helps and I think you would love Bronze Nirvana. It has more of a golden undertone whereas Nude Honey is nuetral-cool tone leaning. I am really excited about the quint with the blues and the Surprisingly the one with the deep plum shimmer. I'm just curious about the texture of that one honestly. I didn't realize you didn't have the Golden One! It's soooo good! I've been seeing it at TJMaxx but I didn't pick it up cuz I have it. If I ever run across again it I'll pick it up for you! It has that creamy formula you love!
Don't worry when you are in different time zones it is allowed 😂! I am 2N in Dior. I do have the shade before Bronze Nirvana, Desert Glow I think...I supposed they are similar enough. That plum shimmer, I hope is not a matte with glitter as I declared those banned years ago due to their uselessness. It's hard to tell. Ahh you are an absolute sweetheart and I don't deserve you! Please don't go through too much trouble for me, I am just being spoiled...I will live a long and happy life without the Golden One hehe. But I am heart-warmed by your kindness!
About the packaging I would like to say something maybe unpopular here: I’ve always considered the brand’s packaging to be tacky. And not only the packaging: even some brand ambassadors or some promos. All the cardboard releases gave me this vibe. But also some of her earlier releases, like the lipsticks with the big lips at the closure. So I completely pass on the packaging at this point. I agree it seems a repurposed Bridgerton this time.
I’m very undecided about this collection. I have a little fomo but nothing particularly appealed to me. I’m wondering if I’ll have the fortitude to resist and go for the older motherships with the baked shades.

To be honest I'm only interested in the quint with the teals and MAYBE the one with the ruby/black glitter but I'd rather not buy anything because I need to save and I bought the quints and big palette from last year at tjmaxx. This Emergency Meeting was the first thing I needed since the PML reveal. Agree with you so much. I dislike the blushes together with eyeshadows and the design of the packaging. Still grateful that there are new eyeshadows we want. I didn’t want Sunlit for a moment. AND I am the 90% you mentioned 😂 Where we might differ is the new terribly exciting Natasha Denona midi Xenon palette?It is defo a monotone ND palette. I love my mini Xenon and did not ever think I needed a midi but well here we are. It does not seem like Mariam’s style? I would love to hear you opinion as usual - in your next video?

Personally I really do care about whether you are going to eat pancakes in the forest! I did picture you in the Alps haha. It is a very gloomy and dark day where I am, and I did my make-up ( bronze bliss quint) during the meeting and discussion regarding Pats holiday release. I am disappointed, but not surprised about the quality decline. I am excited to have some new eyeshadows and don’t expect them to be great, but at least they don’t cost the same amount as a luxury quad, and with an astral topper they will be gorgeous! I am thinking of picking up Starstruck and the Lunar and Bronze quints. Question: Is anyone considering purchasing backups of Motherships?
Yes I also saw a recent review of Subversive where they had fixed the baked Astral Ghost Orchid shade! It’s been reformulated, so I was convincing myself that it’s worth it to get a backup of Subversive 😂
Where did the baked highlighters go? Where are the baked eyeshadow shades? The quints look interesting but in a clip on her instagram using it on model the teal leaning one looked more silvery than teal. Im going back on fourth on what I want to try. I have some of the blushes in the large mega palette so do I just get it anyway knowing I’ll have a dupe. Hmmm I’m still debating what to get or not get.

When I read 'Bijoux Brilliance', oh my, I was so pumped up for a glamourous and dazzling looking palette! Lovely, shiny shadows in jewel tones. But alas, unfortunately PML disappoints again.
It's hard hearing you admit out loud that PML is past their prime 😓 but I feel the same and I don't see them going back from this point. I think I will wait for reviews on this collection before I actually buy anything that I'm interested in 🤔 especially since products from last year's holiday collection were in stock and on sale on her website recently, makes me fairly confident that the products will at least have a restock at some point if they do sell out.

I have mixed feelings about this collection. I want to be excited, but I am feeling meh... I understand the appeal of two smaller palettes rather than a big mega, but I too dislike mixing the blushes with glittery shadows. And, I don't need more blushes. I would rather get 18 shadows for the price, and now we would have to spend double to get that amount of shadows (I get that it includes the blushes.... but...). I was hoping for at least a more luxe quad with some special shades, but I am really losing hope that that will ever happen again :( Finally, this screams of Bridgerton packing, so I hope that the quality of the formulas are as good, but not holding my breath. Sorry to be such a Debbie downer, but appreciate this forum where I can vent!!!
I am totally with you on rather having the 18 eyeshadows for the price although given the Jewel Temptation one is soooo redundant I think perhaps just a 2x 9 pans would have been my preference. The packaging continues to mystify me…

When I heard Amethyst and Mauve, I got really hyped that we would get a proper PURPLE quint. I've been longing for that forever. I'm very disappointed that it all looks pink-y again :( I'm still considering getting the Bordeaux quint, but the rest isn't calling to me at all.
I totally agree! I thought there were a number of purples at first glance, but when I looked more closely, there were very few and all on the pinky side.
After much thought I only think I will get starstruck splendor and lunar nightshade. Edit: but I go back and forth on the quints set. We will see what happens when it is time to buy. Totally out of the loop…did they announce the day it is going to be out?
I'm super interested to see swatches of the gold in the bronze quint. It almost looks green based which could be cool. Also...I wasn't super excited for the mega palette you were talking about getting UNTIL I saw that the pinky shimmer in there actually has a mint flip to it.

my initial thoughts on the collection were: 1. Hold up! Holiday Collection??!?!? We're in September! At this point I expect make-up brands to start releasing their Christmas collection 1 year in advance. 2. I really dislike the cardboard packaging and the color stories are ... ok. The whole collection looks decent, there's less pink in it than usual and I have zero interest in any of it. The only thing I may have bought was one of the face palettes but since I've decided to pull the plug and get my first Hourglass face palette (I've been lusting after one of those for more than 2 years now) there's no way I'll buy another bronzer, blush, highlight trio this year. I also own the 1st Bridgeton blush and highlighter palette and while I really like the blushes, I don't like the texture of the highlighter and how it sits on my skin. If she had come out with one of those baked, luxe packaging holiday highlighters, that would have maybe been an item I would have considered buying.
I don’t know how I feel ….. I think I might just pick up whatever bundle is included in the next 30% off like I did last year…. And no baked highlighter it is sad

I so miss the blitz astral quads, that's what most people asked for, a palette of just the baked special shades. I'm extremely bummed that the all of the baked special shades are now gone and not likely to come back 😢. This collection just doesn't excite me at all. There's one quint I could be persuaded to buy on sale, but only if actual swatches look great, since we all know how misleading and filtered Pat's promo pics are. I'm not into the face and eye palettes or the face palettes at all since they don't look like they're going to be different from the existing shades I already have and don't really need multiples of.
I thought I was the only one who thought mega mothership this year was a sore to eyes with blush in them 😪 I like the one with green but I have those blushes already and I do not like blushes in my eyeshadow palette...love your no BS talks❤
I'm late on this one but I actually have something to say. I feel as well that this is an ok collection, which is more than we were getting lately, though. So ok. I'm not mad at the new format of the mega mothership, surprisingly enough. I actually really like one of the color stories. I was surprised too in not seeing any product in a more luxurious packaging but not all my hope is lost that this is bad sign for the future: I want to believe, like a female Mulder, that Pat could be perfecting the formula to new baked products. Abandoning the most powerful and sparkling and original formula she has would totally be against the trend, when everybody seems to have discovered the power of multichromes and holo powders. It wouldn't make sense! I really hope that this is not the case...

Lovely look btw 💚🥰 About the collection, I was surprised about the packaging being so Bridgerton like, and there not being any lip products, the Opulust glosses would be amazing, but apart from a sold out duo, they are not to be found on the website anymore. 😮 About the megas, they contain only about 17 grams (!) in total (9 shadows = 9 grams and the 2 blushes = 8 grams ) last years 18 mega had over 22 grams! 🧐 Right now; I think I'm only going for a quint, the Lunar Nightshade (although I'm in love with the rosy duo chrome kinda shade called Opalescent Moonstone that transform into green). In general when looking at the website, there are still amazing offers under "Exclusive offers" and also some good offers under the different kits, that are about 1/2 price, and that just means that the prices have been to high, and that a bigger change is coming. The Motherships palettes looks different and cheaper now in the plastic, and the last 2 I have gotten, have had minor imperfections. 🫣
Ohhh man you’re breaking my heart!! So the big black lux lacquer is history too?? I knew they changed the gold plate to a plastic cheap gold but it’s worse than that. I’m afraid this year really signifies the end of the brand as we knew it. 😢

Well on first glance it looks the same, but it's all in 1 piece now (well 1 for the lid with mirror in it, and 1 for the part with the shadows), instead of a plate with holes put in a plastic box, therefore it looks like it goes up around where the pans are, and does not seem as flat. Hope 'y weird explanation makes sense 🤣
16:44 for once the ruby color and a another quint have like that Huda beauty multi speckle pigment swirl like very eye catching & honestly super original (for my gen) and part of why I love Huda beauty so much and the brand PMG seems to have made a couple shadows more unique m
I was waiting for this vídeo since I received Pat Mcgrath's email! I totaly agree with you..I don't think we will ever get a baked shades quad, simply because It probably isn't as profitable as whatever they are doing now. So I just purchased ritualistic rose, now that I know there won't be new shades I'm hunting the old ones down. Regarding the packaging I think it looks like one of the artwork options that was done for bridgerton but they didn't use it. For me the baby pink background doesn't go with the "jewels" and bows colors. I don't care about the bigger palettes but I'm really interested in the quints! Specifically the teal and the purple ones, cause I haven't seen these shades in her collection 😅

Yes good plan - Mercari is great for that. I was able to hunt down the 2 blitz astral quads there, new and unused for less than the original selling price.

I am the only one that is disappointed that the face palettes only have blush embossing? Her bronzers and highlighters have beautiful embossing when you buy singles. I think the face palettes should have embossing on all the pans. It make things feel more special to me.
I’m for the sales and glitches only !!! I was waiting to buy the bronzer on the palettes, cus I was 100% sure she would put her best seller bronzer in the palette and everyone would get repeated products, like usual!!! But then the flop of the mothership was launched with a sale and by their mistake a set of quad+bronzer + brush = £35 😮 , I even got it on Klarna 🤣 , so much fun !!! This collection is too colour pop for my taste!!! Cheep and tacky!! I don’t need anything of it , would be a makeup hangover for me !!! I have lots of another brands I’m looking for and I need to save for like Clé de Peau !!

The price was £58 but the discount code worked and the price dropped. But the time I let my friend know , I come back to the page and it was fixed! I don’t think PM is ahead of the brand anymore, it’s very different from how it started! It was so special now feels like they are mocking us !!! The Emperor's New Clothes always come to my mind !
I think it's such a shame that she didn't use that beautiful packaging with the 'brilliants', it looked so beautiful. Furthermore, I am very enthusiastic about the quints, they are beautiful. I would also have preferred a mega palette, but these smaller ones are more travel-friendly, I don't have the blushes, so 'fortunately' for me... not for my bank account.😂 Thank you for this video.
I greatly dislike the blushes with the eyeshadows. I’d much rather have had smaller 9 pans with no blush or one big palette. (Especially because there are already separate face palette trios.) That said, I will get the one with the green shadows because GREEN. But it will be stored with my eyeshadows and the blushes will be a waste of money for me. That’s annoying. I might wait to get this until it’s on sale. I like 3 out of the 4 quints but I may just get all 4. I just really like the formulas in the quints. I’m the most excited about the quints! I’ll get these at release. I’m sad there were zero luxury products-so baked highlighter, no lipsticks. I also dislike what it all means in the bigger picture for the brand. It makes me sad. I really dislike the packaging. It looks like it should be for a Bridgerton collection. Like you said, with Bridgerton it made sense in the context of the show. This for holiday is bizarre. I also dislike the octagonal shapes. I think the packaging is ugly and cheap looking. It’s a weird choice.

I completely agree about the packaging. I am not on board with this. It’s very childish in my opinion as well. It turns me off 😒. And I much prefer a larger eyeshadow palette with no blushes.

I hope that there will be another xmas luxury release! 🙏 The blushes with eyeshadow palette... No. Just plain no, from a consumer point of view (I have Nymphette and don't really use it because it's too pink and the new shade doesn't interest me, as I have at least a dozen coral shades) and from a marketing point. Limiting the "megas" to a skindepth customer base is plain dumb. Less people will buy, because they can't use the blushes. If she would have released the 9 pans without the blushes, I would have got the green definitely and maybe the deep too (if swatched swoon me). With the 5 pans she missed the mark, so many are asking for more colour. She could have put together nice, colourful quints and lot's of people would have been happy and would buy them, especially after the last Mothership. One with blues is not enough. I won't get anything, not eben a quint, because I'm an olive and blue tones look like black eye on me. 😅 The others are just easily durable with my collection. And I don't really use them anyway. The face palettes are absolutely not for me. I have two bronzers already, the blushes are too pink and I don't like the non baked highlighter formula. The packaging looks so tacky, like Bridgerton without class. And that's why I think you are right, this was planned as Brigerton release originally. It fits the theme, but without theme and thus tacky. Half assed... I don't pay those prices for something that looks like kids makeup. She removed herself from the brand image, if she is even involved anymore. This cheapens the brand and makes the Motherships less interesting. What's special about them anymore? No baked shades and new customers will get the 9 pan with blushes or the quint's, because she seems not to have that much difference between the offerings anymore. And btw as an olive I'll fight you on blush differences! ♥️ My undertone cancels out pinks and reds, I really have to be picky or the blush looks like s bruise or rash. I'll try to get the one missing mega and have just shockordered Huetopean Dream. 😅
As a fellow olive, totally agree! I’m a very light muted olive - colors never look the same on me as they look on non-olives. Those murky grey/olive undertones make blushes either super bright (even muted blushes in the plan look bright on me), super orange, or super purple. Oddly, even though I lean warm, warm cheek colors can easily turn orange on me and also bring out the green tones, making me look super sickly/ashy. 😂
@@mariam.a. ok, but I try to keep it short 😅 I'm a warm olive right now with my summer tan, that means the top layers of my skin look goldenish brown, in winter when the tan fades, I'm a neutral olive, that means the top layers of my skin fade and become a muted, not yellow tone and you can see the greenness shine through for the deeper layers. Yes, I look like the inside of an overripe potato in winter 🤪 The green deeper layers of the skin are always there, just not that much visible with a tan unless you look sideways on the skin. I've never got why no foundation matched and bush looked jaundice on me. I could use some neutral foundations in winter, but not summer, so no going a few shades up. Similar in summer, warm foundations were yellow or orange on me, none was golden and I couldn't go shades down. A few years ago I found Alexandra Anele and thought "am I olive?" I did read into it and yes, I am. Thus I got really into makeup, before I just used Dior quints, mascara and kajal. Because everything turned on me! Basic Dior warm neutrals were the only eyeshadows that worked. It has to do with colourtheory and white centered makeup. Basically the makeup industry just made makeup for "standard" white people with pink, yellow or neutral undertones, as these are the most common in white people. Once you go eastern European, asian, native American, african etc, you'll see different skincolours and undertones. But before I dive too deep, let's get back to colourtheory of olives. I'm just speaking of myself here, as I have no in depth knowledge of cool olives. Warm olives have greenness mixed with yellows, while neutral olives have greenness mixed with blue, cool olives have green mixed with red. Some tan golden, some tan reddish, some tan purpleish. But... and thats the tricky part, your undertone can be fifferent from your overtone! 😭Depending on the base you put the blush on, it gets a colour correction, that's quite simple. In my case every true pink blush, because of my green base, gets either neon pink or pastel. Nymphette as an example (I send you pictures on insta), on the underside of my arm that didn't really got any tan, its a hint of colour, a pale pinkish. On the top of my hand where I have a goldenish tan, it's neon pink. Both are colours I think don't really suit me. 😅 Lot's of olives have surface redness, in my case the redness leans neutral aka blue, thanks gods of freaky skin! 😭 (And I have a purple undertone on my lips too) Adding a pink to that clashes! But back to the colour correction, just a while ago purple blush was trending and I wanted to try one. Well... What are you left with when red is cancelled out of purple? Right, a bruise colour! So I tried a lot (I have a shoebox full of blushes 😅) and tried to find blushes that work for me. They need an orange base, as leaning to the yellowness compliments my tone, they can't have too much red pigment, as most get's cancelled out and the leftovers can look very strange, from neons to greys to browns. The hardest is my summer shade, in winter I just use asian makeup, as they have neutral and olive friendly shades. In summer I run into the problem that those rare companys that carry olives shades, think you magically turn medium orange olive. No light shades, no neutral shades and golden ones are rare too. Just orange. Glam-Shop is the only brand, as far as I know, that has light olives shades in cool, neutral and warm, and bronzers and blushes! Of course I grabbed everything in my range 😅 So, back to blushes... 30something blushes later I can see if a blush colour works for me generally or just in summer or just in winter. Peachy corals or orangey colours are a safer bet, the more red is in a blush the more I stay away. Pink blushes, due to their desaturated (pink is in base desaturated red with blue) nature, either turn neon or dusty greyish, worst case blueish. Of course I can "basic white face" and slather my face in a warm or neutral full coverage foundation to build a layer that prevents the colour correction, but I'm not a full coverage person... Hope that helps, ask if you have more questions ♥️
@@mariam.a. my favorites are muted peachy tones like Marc Jacobs Flesh & Fantasy, Surratt Rosee du Soir. I’m really enjoying the new RMS Crystal Slipper shade too, but this is an example where in the pan it’s a muted beige peachy pink, and looks much brighter on my skin (but in a nice way) Hourglass Mood Exposure is a good mauve that turns more warm on my skin, therefore not looking purple even though it’s mauve in the pan. Weirdly I can pull off corals sometimes (maybe bc it’s more neutral in a way with the red tones added to the orange?). Blue based pinks or reds/raspberry reds are a nightmare!
wonder how the greens compare to the one in Midnight Sun and the Nocturnal Nirvana Quad. They seem to be a bit on the cooler side. During the recent Vogue event with the four super models they showed one of the quints on Linda (the one with the gold and deep taupe, upper left hand corner in your video). @@mariam.a.
Maybe i am jumping the gun here but the inconsistancy in her swatches and those filters misrepresenting the actual product is making me pissed to the point i am moving away from this brand i just watched the reel which features the 3 quints and it better be the lighting making those lunar nightshade eyeshadows look completely different then the website.I am very sceptical about purchasing anything from this brand again.
At this point I believe swatches when I see them with my own eyes...even on youtube depending on the lighting of the creator shades can can look so different than reality.
So disappointed with the collection. The packaging is something that I would appreciate as a young adult, now not so much, there is nothing luxe about it. Shades are meh, pretty but nothing special. I don’t like where the brand is heading…

The exterior design is 🤢, I'd prefer a simple black cardboard instead of that kindergarten packaging. The 2 blushes with 9 eyeshadows at the same price with the past 18 eye shadows palette, not thrilling. I like the trio face palette...but again...that design 😩🤦♀️

Agree 100% about the blushes and eyeshadows in the same palette… it is off putting for me and reminds me of a Too Faced holiday palette I had in like 2015!
My theory is the packaging was intended for Bridgerton III , but with the writers strike happening, the season is delayed so they used the packaging for holiday instead.
What is really tempting me is the idea of that Celadon shade, but I’ll have to really understand the undertones and formula first. It’s the type of color I wanted the ND Retro Glam palette to be, this kind of muted jade color - but it turned out super cool toned and pastel which looked horrific on me 😢
Lunar Nightshade is a beautiful color story but again, not sure if I can pull off that sky blue unless it has some warmer shimmer/shift.

The packaging is what is really hitting me sideways. Is the target demographic pre-teens!!!???? When I think of PML products, I think edgy, modern, classy etc. They are dropping the ball, big time. And I second the motion that the blushes in the eyeshadow pallet was a bad idea. But the FOMO is real and I will be purchasing the lot, minus mascaras and blush/bronzers.
The packaging has been busy and sometimes tacky over the past two years. I’m still purchasing something though 😂.

Yes I had the same thought re: greens. I just wish they were in her baked formula, as I am not sure these are going to give me more sparkly wet-shine iridescent green than my Clionadh shades already do.

I can't believe I missed the emergency meeting! I feel the same about the mega palettes. I dnt need anymore blushes at all from PM. I have every shade she has released including the duo blushes and the 2 holiday quad palettes w highlighter and the Bridgerton trios. Yeah, that's an insane amount of blush. But because I'm a collector and I love her eyeshadows I will be getting the full quint and Mega palette collection. I dnt think I'll be getting any of the trios but that may change. If I do pick one up it will be the one with Bronze Nirvana becasue I LOVE that bronzer! I'm light med skin ( I wear 2N-3N in Dior) if that helps and I think you would love Bronze Nirvana. It has more of a golden undertone whereas Nude Honey is nuetral-cool tone leaning. I am really excited about the quint with the blues and the Surprisingly the one with the deep plum shimmer. I'm just curious about the texture of that one honestly.

That plum shimmer, I hope is not a matte with glitter as I declared those banned years ago due to their uselessness. It's hard to tell.

About the packaging I would like to say something maybe unpopular here: I’ve always considered the brand’s packaging to be tacky. And not only the packaging: even some brand ambassadors or some promos. All the cardboard releases gave me this vibe. But also some of her earlier releases, like the lipsticks with the big lips at the closure. So I completely pass on the packaging at this point. I agree it seems a repurposed Bridgerton this time.
I didn’t mind a lot of the older packaging choices but this one just mystifies me and I don’t like unsolved puzzled haha.

I’m very undecided about this collection. I have a little fomo but nothing particularly appealed to me. I’m wondering if I’ll have the fortitude to resist and go for the older motherships with the baked shades.
If you’re missing some of the older motherships, I would definitely go for those over anything released in the past year.

To be honest I'm only interested in the quint with the teals and MAYBE the one with the ruby/black glitter but I'd rather not buy anything because I need to save and I bought the quints and big palette from last year at tjmaxx. Personally I really do care about whether you are going to eat pancakes in the forest! I did picture you in the Alps haha. It is a very gloomy and dark day where I am, and I did my make-up ( bronze bliss quint) during the meeting and discussion regarding Pats holiday release. I am disappointed, but not surprised about the quality decline. I am excited to have some new eyeshadows and don’t expect them to be great, but at least they don’t cost the same amount as a luxury quad, and with an astral topper they will be gorgeous! I am thinking of picking up Starstruck and the Lunar and Bronze quints. Question: Is anyone considering purchasing backups of Motherships?

Where did the baked highlighters go? Where are the baked eyeshadow shades? The quints look interesting but in a clip on her instagram using it on model the teal leaning one looked more silvery than teal. Im going back on fourth on what I want to try. I have some of the blushes in the large mega palette so do I just get it anyway knowing I’ll have a dupe. Hmmm I’m still debating what to get or not get.

When I read 'Bijoux Brilliance', oh my, I was so pumped up for a glamourous and dazzling looking palette! Lovely, shiny shadows in jewel tones.
But alas, unfortunately PML disappoints again.

It's hard hearing you admit out loud that PML is past their prime 😓 but I feel the same and I don't see them going back from this point. I think I will wait for reviews on this collection before I actually buy anything that I'm interested in 🤔 especially since products from last year's holiday collection were in stock and on sale on her website recently, makes me fairly confident that the products will at least have a restock at some point if they do sell out.

I have mixed feelings about this collection. I want to be excited, but I am feeling meh... I understand the appeal of two smaller palettes rather than a big mega, but I too dislike mixing the blushes with glittery shadows. And, I don't need more blushes. I would rather get 18 shadows for the price, and now we would have to spend double to get that amount of shadows (I get that it includes the blushes.... but...). I was hoping for at least a more luxe quad with some special shades, but I am really losing hope that that will ever happen again :( Finally, this screams of Bridgerton packing, so I hope that the quality of the formulas are as good, but not holding my breath. Sorry to be such a Debbie downer, but appreciate this forum where I can vent!!!
I am totally with you on rather having the 18 eyeshadows for the price although given the Jewel Temptation one is soooo redundant I think perhaps just a 2x 9 pans would have been my preference.

When I heard Amethyst and Mauve, I got really hyped that we would get a proper PURPLE quint. I've been longing for that forever. I'm very disappointed that it all looks pink-y again :( I'm still considering getting the Bordeaux quint, but the rest isn't calling to me at all.

Hmmm good question...I will need to use it a few more times but I have the feeling the CT ones blur skin texture whereas I am not sure these do (at least not to the same extent).
my initial thoughts on the collection were:
1. Hold up! Holiday Collection??!?!? We're in September! At this point I expect make-up brands to start releasing their Christmas collection 1 year in advance.
2. I really dislike the cardboard packaging and the color stories are ... ok. The whole collection looks decent, there's less pink in it than usual and I have zero interest in any of it. The only thing I may have bought was one of the face palettes but since I've decided to pull the plug and get my first Hourglass face palette (I've been lusting after one of those for more than 2 years now) there's no way I'll buy another bronzer, blush, highlight trio this year. I also own the 1st Bridgeton blush and highlighter palette and while I really like the blushes, I don't like the texture of the highlighter and how it sits on my skin. If she had come out with one of those baked, luxe packaging holiday highlighters, that would have maybe been an item I would have considered buying.
To be fair most holiday collections start to appear towards end of September beginning of October. That’s pretty standard.

I so miss the blitz astral quads, that's what most people asked for, a palette of just the baked special shades. I'm extremely bummed that the all of the baked special shades are now gone and not likely to come back 😢. This collection just doesn't excite me at all. There's one quint I could be persuaded to buy on sale, but only if actual swatches look great, since we all know how misleading and filtered Pat's promo pics are. I'm not into the face and eye palettes or the face palettes at all since they don't look like they're going to be different from the existing shades I already have and don't really need multiples of.

I'm late on this one but I actually have something to say. I feel as well that this is an ok collection, which is more than we were getting lately, though. So ok.
I'm not mad at the new format of the mega mothership, surprisingly enough. I actually really like one of the color stories.
I was surprised too in not seeing any product in a more luxurious packaging but not all my hope is lost that this is bad sign for the future: I want to believe, like a female Mulder, that Pat could be perfecting the formula to new baked products. Abandoning the most powerful and sparkling and original formula she has would totally be against the trend, when everybody seems to have discovered the power of multichromes and holo powders. It wouldn't make sense! I really hope that this is not the case...

About the collection, I was surprised about the packaging being so Bridgerton like, and there not being any lip products, the Opulust glosses would be amazing, but apart from a sold out duo, they are not to be found on the website anymore. 😮
About the megas, they contain only about 17 grams (!) in total (9 shadows = 9 grams and the 2 blushes = 8 grams ) last years 18 mega had over 22 grams! 🧐
Right now; I think I'm only going for a quint, the Lunar Nightshade (although I'm in love with the rosy duo chrome kinda shade called Opalescent Moonstone that transform into green).
In general when looking at the website, there are still amazing offers under "Exclusive offers" and also some good offers under the different kits, that are about 1/2 price, and that just means that the prices have been to high, and that a bigger change is coming.
The Motherships palettes looks different and cheaper now in the plastic, and the last 2 I have gotten, have had minor imperfections. 🫣

@@mariam.a. Well on first glance it looks the same, but it's all in 1 piece now (well 1 for the lid with mirror in it, and
1 for the part with the shadows), instead of a plate with holes put in a plastic box, therefore it looks like it goes up around where the pans are, and does not seem as flat. Hope 'y weird explanation makes sense 🤣

I totaly agree with you..I don't think we will ever get a baked shades quad, simply because It probably isn't as profitable as whatever they are doing now. So I just purchased ritualistic rose, now that I know there won't be new shades I'm hunting the old ones down. Regarding the packaging I think it looks like one of the artwork options that was done for bridgerton but they didn't use it. For me the baby pink background doesn't go with the "jewels" and bows colors. I don't care about the bigger palettes but I'm really interested in the quints! Specifically the teal and the purple ones, cause I haven't seen these shades in her collection 😅

I am the only one that is disappointed that the face palettes only have blush embossing? Her bronzers and highlighters have beautiful embossing when you buy singles. I think the face palettes should have embossing on all the pans. It make things feel more special to me.

@@RoseOfMadina yes , Venusian sunrise and I choose nude honey as bronzer (the one in the face palette 😏) and the brush I didn’t like it ! The price was £58 but the discount code worked and the price dropped. But the time I let my friend know , I come back to the page and it was fixed! I don’t think PM is ahead of the brand anymore, it’s very different from how it started! It was so special now feels like they are mocking us !!! The Emperor's New Clothes always come to my mind !
I think it's such a shame that she didn't use that beautiful packaging with the 'brilliants', it looked so beautiful. Furthermore, I am very enthusiastic about the quints, they are beautiful. I would also have preferred a mega palette, but these smaller ones are more travel-friendly, I don't have the blushes, so 'fortunately' for me... not for my bank account.😂 Thank you for this video.

I greatly dislike the blushes with the eyeshadows. I’d much rather have had smaller 9 pans with no blush or one big palette. (Especially because there are already separate face palette trios.) That said, I will get the one with the green shadows because GREEN. But it will be stored with my eyeshadows and the blushes will be a waste of money for me. That’s annoying. I might wait to get this until it’s on sale.
I like 3 out of the 4 quints but I may just get all 4. I just really like the formulas in the quints. I’m the most excited about the quints! I’ll get these at release.
I’m sad there were zero luxury products-so baked highlighter, no lipsticks. I also dislike what it all means in the bigger picture for the brand. It makes me sad.
I really dislike the packaging. It looks like it should be for a Bridgerton collection. Like you said, with Bridgerton it made sense in the context of the show. This for holiday is bizarre. I also dislike the octagonal shapes. I think the packaging is ugly and cheap looking. It’s a weird choice.

I completely agree about the packaging. I am not on board with this. It’s very childish in my opinion as well. It turns me off 😒. And I much prefer a larger eyeshadow palette with no blushes.

The blushes with eyeshadow palette... No. Just plain no, from a consumer point of view (I have Nymphette and don't really use it because it's too pink and the new shade doesn't interest me, as I have at least a dozen coral shades) and from a marketing point. Limiting the "megas" to a skindepth customer base is plain dumb. Less people will buy, because they can't use the blushes. If she would have released the 9 pans without the blushes, I would have got the green definitely and maybe the deep too (if swatched swoon me).
With the 5 pans she missed the mark, so many are asking for more colour. She could have put together nice, colourful quints and lot's of people would have been happy and would buy them, especially after the last Mothership. One with blues is not enough. I won't get anything, not eben a quint, because I'm an olive and blue tones look like black eye on me. 😅 The others are just easily durable with my collection. And I don't really use them anyway. The face palettes are absolutely not for me. I have two bronzers already, the blushes are too pink and I don't like the non baked highlighter formula.
The packaging looks so tacky, like Bridgerton without class. And that's why I think you are right, this was planned as Brigerton release originally. It fits the theme, but without theme and thus tacky. Half assed... I don't pay those prices for something that looks like kids makeup. She removed herself from the brand image, if she is even involved anymore. This cheapens the brand and makes the Motherships less interesting. What's special about them anymore? No baked shades and new customers will get the 9 pan with blushes or the quint's, because she seems not to have that much difference between the offerings anymore.
And btw as an olive I'll fight you on blush differences! ♥️
My undertone cancels out pinks and reds, I really have to be picky or the blush looks like s bruise or rash.
I'll try to get the one missing mega and have just shockordered Huetopean Dream. 😅

As a fellow olive, totally agree! I’m a very light muted olive - colors never look the same on me as they look on non-olives. Those murky grey/olive undertones make blushes either super bright (even muted blushes in the plan look bright on me), super orange, or super purple.
Oddly, even though I lean warm, warm cheek colors can easily turn orange on me and also bring out the green tones, making me look super sickly/ashy. 😂

@@mariam.a. ok, but I try to keep it short 😅 I'm a warm olive right now with my summer tan, that means the top layers of my skin look goldenish brown, in winter when the tan fades, I'm a neutral olive, that means the top layers of my skin fade and become a muted, not yellow tone and you can see the greenness shine through for the deeper layers. Yes, I look like the inside of an overripe potato in winter 🤪
The green deeper layers of the skin are always there, just not that much visible with a tan unless you look sideways on the skin.
I've never got why no foundation matched and bush looked jaundice on me. I could use some neutral foundations in winter, but not summer, so no going a few shades up. Similar in summer, warm foundations were yellow or orange on me, none was golden and I couldn't go shades down. A few years ago I found Alexandra Anele and thought "am I olive?" I did read into it and yes, I am. Thus I got really into makeup, before I just used Dior quints, mascara and kajal. Because everything turned on me! Basic Dior warm neutrals were the only eyeshadows that worked.
It has to do with colourtheory and white centered makeup. Basically the makeup industry just made makeup for "standard" white people with pink, yellow or neutral undertones, as these are the most common in white people. Once you go eastern European, asian, native American, african etc, you'll see different skincolours and undertones. But before I dive too deep, let's get back to colourtheory of olives. I'm just speaking of myself here, as I have no in depth knowledge of cool olives. Warm olives have greenness mixed with yellows, while neutral olives have greenness mixed with blue, cool olives have green mixed with red. Some tan golden, some tan reddish, some tan purpleish. But... and thats the tricky part, your undertone can be fifferent from your overtone! 😭Depending on the base you put the blush on, it gets a colour correction, that's quite simple. In my case every true pink blush, because of my green base, gets either neon pink or pastel. Nymphette as an example (I send you pictures on insta), on the underside of my arm that didn't really got any tan, its a hint of colour, a pale pinkish. On the top of my hand where I have a goldenish tan, it's neon pink. Both are colours I think don't really suit me. 😅 Lot's of olives have surface redness, in my case the redness leans neutral aka blue, thanks gods of freaky skin! 😭 (And I have a purple undertone on my lips too) Adding a pink to that clashes! But back to the colour correction, just a while ago purple blush was trending and I wanted to try one. Well... What are you left with when red is cancelled out of purple? Right, a bruise colour!
So I tried a lot (I have a shoebox full of blushes 😅) and tried to find blushes that work for me. They need an orange base, as leaning to the yellowness compliments my tone, they can't have too much red pigment, as most get's cancelled out and the leftovers can look very strange, from neons to greys to browns. The hardest is my summer shade, in winter I just use asian makeup, as they have neutral and olive friendly shades. In summer I run into the problem that those rare companys that carry olives shades, think you magically turn medium orange olive. No light shades, no neutral shades and golden ones are rare too. Just orange. Glam-Shop is the only brand, as far as I know, that has light olives shades in cool, neutral and warm, and bronzers and blushes! Of course I grabbed everything in my range 😅 So, back to blushes... 30something blushes later I can see if a blush colour works for me generally or just in summer or just in winter. Peachy corals or orangey colours are a safer bet, the more red is in a blush the more I stay away. Pink blushes, due to their desaturated (pink is in base desaturated red with blue) nature, either turn neon or dusty greyish, worst case blueish. Of course I can "basic white face" and slather my face in a warm or neutral full coverage foundation to build a layer that prevents the colour correction, but I'm not a full coverage person...

@@mariam.a. my favorites are muted peachy tones like Marc Jacobs Flesh & Fantasy, Surratt Rosee du Soir. I’m really enjoying the new RMS Crystal Slipper shade too, but this is an example where in the pan it’s a muted beige peachy pink, and looks much brighter on my skin (but in a nice way)
Hourglass Mood Exposure is a good mauve that turns more warm on my skin, therefore not looking purple even though it’s mauve in the pan.
Weirdly I can pull off corals sometimes (maybe bc it’s more neutral in a way with the red tones added to the orange?).
Blue based pinks or reds/raspberry reds are a nightmare!

wonder how the greens compare to the one in Midnight Sun and the Nocturnal Nirvana Quad. They seem to be a bit on the cooler side. Maybe i am jumping the gun here but the inconsistancy in her swatches and those filters misrepresenting the actual product is making me pissed to the point i am moving away from this brand i just watched the reel which features the 3 quints and it better be the lighting making those lunar nightshade eyeshadows look completely different then the website.I am very sceptical about purchasing anything from this brand again.
At this point I believe swatches when I see them with my own eyes...even on youtube depending on the lighting of the creator shades can can look so different than reality.
So disappointed with the collection. The packaging is something that I would appreciate as a young adult, now not so much, there is nothing luxe about it. Shades are meh, pretty but nothing special. I don’t like where the brand is heading…

The exterior design is 🤢, I'd prefer a simple black cardboard instead of that kindergarten packaging. The 2 blushes with 9 eyeshadows at the same price with the past 18 eye shadows palette, not thrilling. I like the trio face palette...but again...that design 😩🤦♀️
It’s worse than some of the packaging I have seen for Too Faced, the leader in tacky makeup packaging. 😂
