So yeah, I really loved this first season, and am very excited for when we eventually get to dive further into this series. I hope all of you found the reactions entertaining as well, and hopefully the general content will be coming out relatively consistently again for the time being. I'll be doing more non-rotational Western stuff in a bit, but I'm largely focused on getting back into the rhythm of all the stuff I have currently going on so it might be a little while before I start another one.
Maternal figure Rosie with 'you're like a daughter I spawned' Alastor, it only makes sense Seriously though, I hope we see more of Rosie and Charlie interacting in season 2, they're adorable together and Charlie needs more people as aggressively cheerful as she is
Well i doubt that. Charlie very openly loves her mom and says she misses her all the time. So pre 7 year gap she must have had a very good commection with her
The only character that had a complete character arc this season was Sir Pentious. He started off as a joke villain, was hired as a spy, was shown forgiveness and welcomed in after being outed, became friends with everyone, and at the end willingly sacrificed himself for them. His entire death and resurrection in Heaven proved to Sera that sinners can be redeemed.
Bro got that Miles Morales character growth rate from Into the Spider-Verse! And became part of Charlie’s Canon Breaking for this world’s version of religion.
I find it funny that Adam is basically right about what it takes to get into heaven; Pentious selflessly sacrificed himself for his friends/family, literally never stole anything once in the show, and was in the process of sticking it to the first man himself - Adam - when he died. Worst guy you know makes a good point.
Vivziepop has said that being lgbt doesnt get you thrown in hell so chances are lute wasnt being homophobic. She just had a problem with an angel and a demon being together
In universe she wasnt being homophobic, but it is meant to at least be a parallel for bigotry and homophobia due to who and what Charlie and Vaggie are.
In text, sure. In subtext, it's an obvious stand-in for homophobia, specifically the two different types of homophobia lesbians have to put up with: Type 1: "Their love is vile and blasphemous" Type 2: "Hot as fuck though"
@@m.s.5370 How is "Hot as fuck though" homophobia? Not every sentence that vaguely categorizes/generalizes something is immediately homophobia. Things like that are softening the impact words like homophobia should hold.
@@acedia4454 i wouldnt say its homophobia, just sexualizing wlw relationships since men ALWAYS say that two girls dating/making out is "hot as fuck" but when its two dudes? THATS where they draw the line and say its disgusting and shouldnt be a thing. as a lesbian, the "hot as fuck though" line made me recoil in disgust since its been said to me many times by men when they find out i like women

Pay attention to how Alastor's behvaior in episode 5 was rather fragile, and almost insecure. He does not want Charlie to be in a position where she has to lean on somebody who is so significantly more powerful than him. Alastor wants to be the only one influencing her, and who is a bigger danger to that than her own father who she has unresolved issues with. From Lucifer's POV, Alastor is a nobody. All that hype surrounding the big bad Radio Demon means nothing to him. The moment we met Alastor in the pilot, he was a flamboyant, big, and overall, threatening persona who commanded the stage. But he can't intimidate Lucifer. He can't charm him. He can't impress him. And for someone who craves recognition, being denied it is almost like being attacked. The only way Alastor can make himself look less small is to poke at Lucifer not being involved in Charlie's goal.
Exactly, if her dad starts hanging around it’s unlikely Al would be able to manipulate Charlie into making a real deal with him or influence her into working in his favor
Someone pointed out that for someone like Alastor, being disrespected is even worse than being attacked. Like Sir Pentious got a piece of his clothes (to which he says is "more than anyone else got" so technically a big hit) and didn't got threatend while husk said something disrespectful and Alastor snapped in a instant. The interaction between Lucifer and Alastor was quite funny but I think that Alastor has to hate Lucifer as much as demonly possible because there is almost no chance he can overwhelm Lucifer like he did with all the overlords. Which is by the way my theory why he got tricked in a deal with Lilith (the most popular theory of who Alastor made a deal with). I imagine hsaw the opportunity to trick the queen of hell into a deal, just to get tricked himself because he overestimated himself.
@@JustAlesan> there is almost no chance he can overwhelm there is NO CHANCE, PERIOD dude, and anyone who thinks its even remotely possible are delusional.
@@Kebin13 a example how it MIGHT be possible: - step 1: Alastor uses the deal with charlie to put charlie in real danger (because she doesn't hurt anyone else - so it's compatible with the rules she set) (we don't 100% know how deals work and if anyone or anything can break it without loophole) - step 2: he blackmails Lucifer into harvesting his powers or even his soul in exchange to save charlie But like I said we don't know for sure how power scaling works and how deals are handled. And as long as there is nothing official, there are possibilities for Alastor to be on top. But in a pure 1v1 scenario without prep - I would agree that Alastor has not a single chance
@@JustAlesan That's exactly what it is. Everybody else in the hotel responded to Lucifer's presence as normally as possible because they understand what the deal is once he walked through the door. But Alastor is the sort who can't be around someone that much stronger than himself without feeling pressured. But because he's incapable of actually doing anything to Lucifer, he has to resort to being petty. Why? Because it is the only way he can assert _some_ kind of dominance and not feel smaller.
@@DogsandPennies I wrote it so that people could skip to see his reaction to an specific episode, considering that there's a lot of talking in between one and another
I was so happy that Lucifer was more than just bland deadbeat dad who doesn’t give a crap about his daughter. Also if you would like to hear more of the voice actor (Jeremy Jordan) I can’t recommend Tangled (if you haven’t seen it before) and its sequel Tangled the Series (later retitled Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure) enough. The show is nearly perfect and has a really engaging plot and cast.
I’m kinda disappointed that Lilith turned out a traitor. Not because I hate such tropes, but because we never got to see their dynamic with Lucifer which creators talked about. Kinda sad, especially seeing them in battle together and together in general would’ve been cool. Though that makes me kinda hyped for further seasons, cuz we now have questions to be answered.
@@ChunkGamesYT We have absolutely no idea of the context for why she's up there, or what the deal was. For all we know, she could've gone up there to protect Charlie from something, or is up there to spy on heaven, etc.. So I'm personally holding off on judging her until we get that.
@@MattTOB618 I guess it’s kinda right to not assume anything. It just feels weird. Protect from what? Sounds very… Weird. Because of lack of context. Still, when an important character abandons their family for almost a decade and we get a reveal that the character is chilling on a beach with some deal with their enemy? Sounds like something that context hardly makes better.
My theory is that we know Alastor is a control freak and likes being the center of attention, so when Lucifer came in he kinda took the spot lights. That, mixed with the fact that Lucifer outranks him in power, probably pissed him off a lot. I think he was just trying to get him mad to “gain the upper hand”.
It's a psychological manipulation tactic known as social engineering, typically exhibited by psychopaths. When Alastor felt that he was threatened, he wanted to re-assert control via attacking lucifer's emotional vulnerabilities.
Alastor’s overprotection of Charlie could’ve been a sign of psychopathy. They like to keep a sense of control and have a mental breakdown when they lose it. He clearly sees Lucifer’s power and that intimidates him, making him lose that sense of control.
@@LordTelperion Agreed. I think, at least in part, some of the reason is that Alastor abhores the 'system' of Hell, the limitations Sinners have on them (both being unable to leave the Pride ring, & the limits to the power they can achieve, as there are classes of demons Sinners could never _hope_ to challenge). To someone like him, who is all about 'taking charge of his own fate', I'm sure all those limits feel suffocating & infuriating.
Can we talk about how Lute's VA absolutely killed it, especially when she threatened Vaggie right before beginning their fight in the hotel? 🤩 Most villains would just yell in anger... she almost whispers, yet you can feel the haste and pure venom in her voice 🥶
Got to love how she initially came off as a random hench(wo)man but she steadily becomes more and more unhinged to the point of Adam being freaked about about how extreme she can get.
You can also definitely see how much she despises Vaggie because despite how much pain and suffering she keeps inflicting on to her, she just keeps getting back up.
Lucifer is honestly the best character in the series for me. His character is so nuanced and entertaining. There were so many head canons and fan theories of him being abusive and awful and I feel like it effected fans perception of Lucifer before he was actually introduced in the series proper. In reality he's an anxiety ridden depressed little gremlin who adores his daughter but has no clue how to approach her. Also I don't think Alastor is used to being the weak person in the room. And Lucifer didn't know him or even care to know him which I imagine got under his skin. He knows he can never take Lucifer on physically given he could erase him before blinking, so he attacks Lucifer’s position as a father to get to him. But in the end Alastor also lost in that because Lucifer and Charlie reconnect in the end. May be a hot take but Luci and Charlie are a better father-daughter duo than Octavia and Stolas 100%.
Nah, Stolas and Octavia have them beat by the single point of their relationship being and always having been close, supportive, and loving with their drama being brief and very recent and not including any sort of breakdown, just strain. Lucifer and Charlie are hot on their heels, tho.
I saw so many people hating on Luzifer and dynamic with charlie "daddy issues" but 99% are baseless claims trying to hate for no reason, Ofc Luzifer is one of best for me to ,but personaly i wanna know more of vvv and sir peterinus
The biggest thing the show needed was Twice the runtime, Either hour long episodes or Twice the episodes. Needed more room to breathe and develop stories and such. But it's got so much heart and soul, which is important because that's what got it this far in the first place.
Twice the runtime would have been nice if the story had enough content for that length, but i think we only needed a maximum of 2 more episodes for everything to flow better. Twice the length could also have made everything feel too bloated i think, but at least 2-ish more episodes would have been great. But otherwise, they did what they could with 8 episodes.
@@TheJeSTeR7530I think you’re both right. We can all agree that the show would’ve benefited from having more time, but whether it was 2 episodes or more/longer episodes to double the runtime I almost feel like Vivziepop could’ve made both worth well since she’s already shown herself to be a rather creative writer. If it was 2 extra episodes, that would’ve given some nice breathing room so the story didn’t feel so rushed, and if it was double runtime I feel like the excess of time would’ve been capitalized well with including more world building and character development that wouldn’t feel like filler material.
that could make them put less songs though. because the songs are a great way to put a lot of lore in such little time. but when I reached ep 8 I was like wait it's the last one. it did feel there could have been one or two more
I think Alastor is acting that way to gain power over Lucifer. Lucifer, being the king of Hell, is much stronger than Alastor, and since he cant beat him with raw strength he's using whatever he can to get control. It's pretty common for psychopaths to act this way
@@ShortArtGuy This is an alternate timeline. Instead of Lucifer being behind in souls, they have too many of them, so he never had to bet against Johnny in the first place. That’s why he still has it (that or it’s just a cool reference, but I like my head cannon)

About Emily and Sera: as someone else pointed out, I also love how they seemed to subtly tell who's in the right between them through the light in their eyes. When Sera preaches about the necessary evil of extermination, she looks down on the flames of hell and they reflect into her sight, giving how corrupt she is. While when Emily looks down on the same flames, she instead speaks of injustice and about protecting the less fortunate in hell, and so her sight doesn't reflect hells flames, but pure burning holy light. We don't know where is God and why the seraphs holds so much power, but we can most certainly agree that whatever God had in mind, Emily carries on in spirit. Not Sera.
Yeap. Definifly. As for God...he is clearly MIA, like in every single story that at least tries to take the topic of heaven and/or hell semi-seriously. For any story like that God needs to be somehow killed, "fucked off to some inner sanctum noone else can get to" or EXTREAMLY nerfed (and often reworked into highest angel, cuz at one point storyteller realised this got waaaay to far). The all-knowing all-powerfull all-good God simply cant exist in a world where heaven isn't perfect
@@xsardes336 I was thinking about "His dark materials" while reading your comment about "when talking of imperfect paradise the narrative needs a somewhat nerfed God for It to make sense", and what can I say, I agree with you. 🤣
If I had to guess, God is gonna be a being who’s taking care of a bigger universe so he trusted the angels with Earth. Maybe the one that’s actually in charge of Earth though is the og sacrificial man himself, Jesus. It's overall pretty short and objectively speaking pacing is probably a bit off, but I don't really care, for me this is one of the best 1st seasons of any show I've ever seen. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Hats off to Vivienne and her team. I only hope that season two will have ten episodes or more, but even if not, I bet I'll love it anyway.
I love that you’re one of the few who completely understood Sera after one watch! So many people just immediately hate her or think she’s lying even those not one Angel has ever lied in the history of this entire canon universe.
Sera is still terrible, and done one nonunderstandable thing, she let Adam attack the hotel, she could say to him do not attack the hotel, and leave charlie and her friends alone, Adam would listen to her, he wouldn't disobey her, because she is charger than him. I don't like the ending of ep 6, Adam could just say "if you're will interfere to our business, we will actually pay attention to your hotel" as threat, but he is just "we will come to your hotel first just because" and then Sera alowed him to do that
@@lolloblue9646To be fair, Charlie didn't prove anything during the trial. She shows that a soul can improve, but not that it can be redeemed, otherwise Angel would be in Heaven. Now in episode 8 WE know redemption is possible. But back then in episode 6, there is no proof the hotel works

He doesn't talk over it very much (& if he does it's super quick). He doesn't get distracted with his camera or look away (this is one series in particular where you can't afford to, you'll miss a ton). Vaggie canonically died in 2014, and she's been with charlie for three years, meaning that (assuming the show is set roughly in 2024) she was active as an exorcist for _at most_ 7 years (which would mean that she joined the exorcists basically immediately after dying). Adam said that she killed "thousands" of Charlie's people, so that's a _minimum_ of 2000 total. That means she would have had to kill an average of over 285 each year, likely much more. Lute claims in episode one to have killed 275 that year, which Adam seems impressed by. Adam really wasn't kidding when he said that Vaggie was "one of [his] best girls"
Sir Pentius redemption changes a lot of things. Its one thing to argue that its ppssible for a sinner to be fixed and go to heaven, and for sinners to work on themselves in HOPE ITS POSSIBLE. But its whole other thing to have a live example, proof that its totally possible. I really hope charlie is informed of Sir Pentius redemption very soon on the second season.
I'm anticipating next season being absolute CHAOS as a result of so many different things. Pentious's redemption has me just WAITING for the heaven embassy to make an announcement (after Charlie has been informed first, of course), which will result in 666News having to cover it... Katie Killjoy is NOT going to handle that well. Tom may have to handle that segment. The hotel will need a new & improved commercial including Pentious (& their daring fight against the exorcists). They'll be SLAMMED with applicants to stay there... Then they have to figure out how many at a time is 'realistic', & if they're going to need more staff. It's just... chaos. But we also have to anticipate the negative attention that will draw, power hungry manipulators by the hoard (of both heavenly & hellish persuasions) will want to undo this miracle somehow (heaven for many reasons), & Hell, to maintain the control the Overlords are able to have as a result of the 'hopelessness' & fear. Val might see a big drop in employees.
Finally someone who understands Sera. Everyone keep saying that she is evil, but it wasn't her idea to make exterminations and there can be a real danger, for example,Eve
It wasn't her idea, but she still the one who put the stamp of approval on it. She's ultimately responsible. I'm not saying that she's evil, but, a necessary evil is still evil, especially when you're hiding it from your people.
Sera is the kind of placid good that enables and empowers evil, she is not evil per say but she accepted the evil of the situation and let it loose so long as her lawn wasn't involved, putting the price on others so she and her people can go without ANY issues or struggle. She may be a force for good overall and for her people, but she also has a sliver of evil willing to cast others aside and sacrifice them for an easy solution when given the choice (despite saying it was a hard decision she made the easy choice of just killing off the issue of hell overpopulation). It is also visual represented in the 6th episode last song when Sera facing the flaming projection has a big smile while her eyes reflected the displayed flames, but when Emily switch their positions Emily's eyes stayed clear, not reflecting any of the flame projected. Sera accepted the evil thinking it was necessary while Emily rejected it wholesale.
@@haraken3119 ,I do not think that extermination of sinners is that bad. Remember, there are only few good characters in Hell: Charlie, Lucifer?, Vaggie(idunno if i can count her) and maybe Carmilla, that's it,that's all
@@haraken3119 ,btw, I think she is not responsible for souls filtering, when she said "There something you don't know" means that there some rules that she can't change. She loves Emily so much but she said that she can't let sinners redeem themselfs.
@@ge_ka_bu She did say that she gave the stamp of approval for the extermination on the condition that heaven was kept from it, and hell overpopulation is not a space issue, not a resource issue, but a power balance and fear of armed conflict from discontent sinners who grew too powerful. That means helping hell properly administrate itself (ie putting someone like maybe Lucifer or now Charlie in charge and giving them the ability, encouragement and help to take charge and keep discontentment from exploding) and going the diplomacy route was thoroughly ignored in favor of blood sport extermination day. Sure something else might be revealed that truly screwed every single option of not killing sinners due to possible uprising, but as it stand... Sera IS responsible as she AGREED to it and her approval was NEEDED for the exorcists activities, which resulted in worsened relationship with hell, because now sinners do have a good reason to fight heaven because heaven did exterminate them every year. That is what it means being in a leadership position, you become responsible for the stuff you agreed to, so unless someone above her was coercing her to give her stamp of approval she did choose that option over trying anything else.
Adam’s death, I think, shows what remains of his humanity, when Lute calls for him he doesn’t try to say anything, he just smiles like he’s trying to reassure her, he sees how desperate she is and wants to show it’s ok with the little time he has left. I think that despite how much of an a-hole he is, he’s also able to care for other people beside himself (still think he totally deserved it and I hope to see him come back as a demon in season 2, I think he could have a redemption arc if he’s allowed enough time)
There's this theory going around that Lucifer's deal with heaven was to protect Charlie Lucifer would be unable to intervene in any extermination and in return the exorcists are not allowed to harm any hellborn demons. That's why he didn't come at the start of the battle He only got the chance to fight when his deal was broken, when Dazzle died and when Adam said he would kill Charlie
@@TheDarkLordoftheSiff its hard to tell, he looked pretty confident and Charlie seemed genuinely scared for her life there. We don't know exactly what ranking Adam truly has, most people assume he's probably a archangel simply because he looks so different from the other angels we see (with golden wings and all) and he also has his own little stand so he must be at least of some importance
@@lordiedams348 well up untill that recently not even Adam or Charlie even knew a default Angel could be killed, plus Charlie is the offspring of Lucifer, who I'm pretty sure was one of highest ranking angels in Heaven till he fell so even if Adam got a higher rank then normal Winner for being the first mortal to go to Heaven I still have doubts he could actually kill Charlie himself
It's really interesting that hes managed to spread his influence to even the Pride ring... As sinners can't go to his. Plus it seems like there's a slight 'rivalry' between he & Lucifer, even if it's all just in his own mind (re: Mammon ripping off Lucifer's theme park then winning the copyright lawsuit). Definitely fitting to her personality.
I haven’t let my guard down about Alastor since he first debuted in the pilot, so I don’t intend to start now. Husk hinted he’s apparently “on a leash” himself and Alastor took offense to that severely. For him to also feel threatened by Lucifer’s presence also spells out something different other than annoyance.
I think Alastor just doesn't like someone being in the room that is more powerful than him. He was clearly annoyed the same instant Charlie opened the door xD I don't think Alastor will be the big series bad tbh. He clearly wants power and isn't really interested in redemption, but maybe his favor from Charlie is simply "Allow me to take your place as ruler." (unless his deal is indeed with Lilith, which I'm not so sure it is anymore, in which case he'd use the favor to break that deal)
Lucifer has depression which reducing your ability to retain memories. Like, medically he can’t remember what she said. That’s probably why he was so anxious to ask. He knew she told him but could remember what she said.
My guess is that Alastor will use the favor to become Charlie's right hand when she ascends to Hell's throne. This would make him second only to the Royal Family therefore outranking any sinner, demon noble and even Deadly Sin. In this episode, he has already voiced his desire to form her, making her an investment for him. I don't think he's stupid enough to aim for Hell's throne itself seeing as so far, no demon seems to give a sh*t about who sits there anyways (also, his ascension would likely cause the hellborn nobles and Deadly Sins to revolt, that is if Lucifer wouldn't just erase him for it to begin with, and I'm sure Alastor knows that). Therefore, I think it's more likely he wants to be the man behind the throne, whispering into Charlie's ear pulling everyone's strings, sinners, hellborn and Deadly Sins alike, as the puppeteer in the shadows.
My theory is that Alastor's favor will be for Charlie to take his place in the deal he made. After all, in trading her soul for Alastor's she'd be doing him a favor without harming anyone (aside from herself, but that's why it's a devil's bargain) so that would be fulfilling the conditions. With how desperate Alastor is to find a loophole in his deal, I don't think it's out of the question.
My thought was that he might be after ownership of the hotel. It would give him incredible influence, a very unique sort of power, & a HUGE bargaining chip with... various possible characters. The biggest of which will be Charlie, who obviously won't want anything to go wrong, & might be in a position where she has to make another deal, or... he'll give her a choice between two possible favors. One, he gets Keke (not sure that's how her name is spelled, but the cat who is the key to the hotel). The other... Well, could be almost anything.
@@ninakrishnamurthy6674that would be a great one. Another one I think is fairly likely is based off of some speculation that Alastor made a deal with Lilith, judging by their simultaneous disappearances. If so, Alastor could simply insist Charlie get her mother to call off the deal trapping Alastor.
@@HungryGuy3 We know some rules. And so do the angels, just not all of them. You'd be able to determine some of the rules just from a surface level observation of some of the people who get into to heaven.
It's still hard to believe we live in a world where characters like Alastor finally have this much screentime and actual presence... doing things. And I was only waiting for the series to come out for a year.
Jeremy Jordan is the voice actor for Lucifer and has one of the best voices in broadway. If you’re interested in listening to more of him, he’s also in tangled the series!! The songs in there are amazing!
I have watched way too many reactions to this show since I finished it (as well as just listened to the various songs a bit too much as well). There's so much more to say than what ended up getting said in this video and the one for the first half of the season, but what I will say is I am incredibly excited for the day we get to once again dive back into this series when season 2 comes around. Also, unrelated to this show, but I'll probably be doing another non-rotational Western series at some point in the coming months. Maybe in March, maybe later, but I just need to get the uploads back in order first before I figure that out.
"It looks kind of like a big top" The Sins were envisioned as a circus troupe. Mammon is a clown, Beelzebub is an animal act (hence her flying through rings and the like), and Lucifer is the ringmaster.
I think Alastor _does_ genuinely care to some extent. But he won't let it get in the way of everything else. His goals are his main focus. Hence why he freaked out for one reason when he was protecting the others/the hotel, because he swayed from his goals a bit by letting his emotions get in the way. That's some of what I think anyway. 🤷🏻♀️
Technically, based on what we see with Sir Pentious, Adams list might be correct. 1. Act Selfless. He bought drinks FOR EVERYONE! 2. Dont Steal. This one is a bit harderz but i dont remember any direct times he stole anything. 3. Stick it to the Man. His death was the ultimate "Stick it to the Man" move, "the man" in this situation being Adam
If I had a nickel for every villain named "Adam" who dies after being stabbed, I'd have two nickels... which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
This season was so good. Definitely lived up to my expectations. The pacing is off at points but I really do think they did the best they could fitting this story into 8 episodes.
what's suspicious to me is that alastor didn't have a holy weapon to fight adam. and sure, while that man is cocky, he's not *stupid*. and we've seen him use his tentacles to grab holy weapons to kill angels around his shield, so it's not like he couldn't have just picked one up for himself. so my theory is that, assuming alastor made a deal with lilith AND lilith had a deal with adam, maybe alastor wasn't allowed to *actually* kill him? idk just some food for thought
can I just say, I LOVE your excitement watching this series! I've watched countless reactions and the episodes themselves multiple times, but watching you watch it brings all the excitement from first seeing them back. Thank you :)

Thoughts on Lucifer, like with anyone else I didn’t expect that he will be the supportive one and he is just a depressed(there indeed signs like the balcony scene), antisocial/ lack communication, awkward, cinnamon roll, goofy dad. E5: In the beginning of e1 it was said his punishment was to only see the bad of his gift and even tho he gave up and lost his faith and belief of his people but thanks to Charlie he supports her and her dream, so before he didn’t support her because he was was scared that she will get hurt or worse. I believe the reason he’s short is that he’s human size but everyone is just tall. I love both songs, hells greatest dad is just a dad off( even tho we know alastor is doing this to piss off lucifer)😂, and I adore more than anything because it’s beautiful, the emotions and the symbolisms( especially the part we’re the angels spears are pointing at him but once it points at Charlie he pulls her away shielding her) and the flashback😭. The ducks represent either Charlie and his bond with her or it represents him being the ugly duckling. He is still wearing his wedding ring even in e8. E8: I believe the reason he was late because of the deal he made with heaven and Adam broke it. Luci might by “second” is the apple he was just was dirty about it and to piss off adam. I love the fact he was toying with Adam but got serious when he was gonna attack them( btw I love their demon forms). I love how luci and husker was the only ones weren’t happy seeing alastor 😂 and what looks to be rooms for both alastor and luci on top of the new hotel.
Yeah I want to know why he's still wearing his wedding ring. They either aren't actually separated or maybe he's in denial that she left him. Or maybe he's married to someone else now.

I have but one theory that's been making my brain itch since it was first fomented; we all know that contracts as a concept are important in this show. Working from that point, lets take a look at what a contract is; in the real world, a contract is a document that is meant to codify a deal between two or more parties, denoted as the contract 'issuer' and the 'signatory(ies)'. In standing theory, a contract is meant to be written to benefit the signatory moreso than the issuer; that is how things are MEANT to be, but that is where clauses come into play. Clauses, when written correctly, can change the nature of the contract in part or in whole. TL;DR Contracts can be broken, not just by the signatory, but by the issuing party. My theory is simple on it's face. There is a contract between Angel and Valentino, for Angel's soul to Valentino, that Angel will render his services for Valentino's 'entertainment'. It will not happen in Season 2, as that will likely focus on the repercussions of Sir Pentious getting into Heaven and the changes that may bring, but something tells me that VALENTINO will unintentionally void the contract between himself and Angel, allowing Angel a true shot at redemption, now that his soul would not be anchored down.
I have an idea on how he could get out of the contract. Angel has said that Valentino can do whatever he wants to him inside the studio BUT not outside it. So I'm guessing that if Valentino would do something to Angel outside the studio aka a sexual nature, that would void the contract between them? Now I'm eager to see if that's the case in the show. I just hope that Angel gets away from that bastard
"More than anything" This Song by Lucifer and his daughter Charlie brought me and my sister to tears from yesterday until now. And lover duet is breaking my heart. It's possible that Eve is character named Roo = Root of Evil in hell. Vivziepop has mention that she will in story.
Mimzi cutting in was great xD she was one of the original concept characters for hazbin but we rarely got anything of her so its a double edge joke. A joke for the new ones who dont know who she is (the who? Reaction) and those who know her from the beginning
You noticed one of my favorite details. The Golden Ticket was in neither of the candy bars that were bought for him, in the hopes he'd win, nor the one he bought for himself because he wanted some candy selfishly. The Golden Ticket was in the chocolate bar he bought _for his grandfather,_ just because he wanted to make Grandpa Joe smile. He wasn't given a ticket holding bar at random like Mike Teevee, nor did he get one because he hunted one down like Verruca or Violet due to wanting one so bad just to have one or wanting to win obsessively, or stumble across one because he was mindlessly pigging out on chocolate like Augustus Gloop. He earned his with an act of selflessness, no thought of himself at the time he bought the candy, no belief that winning that ticket he'd wanted so badly was even possible until after. He got his, in the candy bar HE bought, for SOMEONE ELSE, just because he had some good fortune and wanted to spread it to someone he loved. Charlie got his ticket by being a good person.
Also, the fact that human souls do still ascend to heaven is undeniable proof that humanity is _capable_ of doing right, but they still end up going to hell every day. Seeing humanity continue to make the same mistakes from day 1 probably makes Lucifer feel disappointed for every believing in them because they don't ever learn better. Which is unfortunately a simple truth of life. The thing getting in our way is us.
hellborns aren't lucifer and Charlie's people, sinners are. hellborn are the rest of the sin's concern but sinners are from the result of Lucifer and Lilith.
Okay, big plot hole: Vaggie had her eye ripped out and her wings cut off by an angelic weapon. She should 1.) Know that they can be killed, because she could have been in that moment 2.) Have at least considered the possibility of angelic weapons being the key, if not outright deducing it. She could have relayed this info so that deal with alastor never had to happen. She'd already been revealed to be an angel at that point anyway.
@jonghyxn5 she also says she didn't know they could be hurt. She was still damaged it would be foolish for anyone to lose parts of their body to something and then assume that that something couldn't kill them. Unless you're like...idk, Deadpool or Ban
She probably assumed that her injuries and near-death was a divine punishment though. The exterminators are clearly raised with a very strict mentality. It was not in her place to spare a sinner after all, in fact it’s her duty to kill as many as she can, so she was rightly punished.
both sinners and winners (humans that go to heaven) can bleed and be damaged. but they can only die with angelic weapon (an even that would never really happen)
Sera is a fascinating study... Charlie asked if she cared, and you can see clearly she does. Whether indoctrination, or unwilling to look at the darkness for fear, but definitely cares about others suffering, and Em. Em is one of 2 I'm really concerned for in s2

It’s crazy how Rosie became a mother figure to Charlie for 20 minutes more than Lilith has for 7 years.
Auntie rosie for the win
Maternal figure Rosie with 'you're like a daughter I spawned' Alastor, it only makes sense
Seriously though, I hope we see more of Rosie and Charlie interacting in season 2, they're adorable together and Charlie needs more people as aggressively cheerful as she is
@@CoRLex-jh5vx Forget reconnecting with Lilith, Rosie should just become the mother that stepped up 😂
Well i doubt that.
Charlie very openly loves her mom and says she misses her all the time.
So pre 7 year gap she must have had a very good commection with her
Who’da thunk the defacto Queen of cannibalistic hell demons would be so wholesome.
Yeah, good luck denying the possibility of redemption now :D
Yeah, ikr?? And admitted his love for Cherri!
I find it funny that Adam is basically right about what it takes to get into heaven; Pentious selflessly sacrificed himself for his friends/family, literally never stole anything once in the show, and was in the process of sticking it to the first man himself - Adam - when he died.
Worst guy you know makes a good point.
@@sweatygoblin2335 Not true.

Lucifer:
Episode 5: "Usually I charge a sacrificial lamb"
Episode 8: (appears only AFTER both Sir Pentious and Razzle die).
Dazzle is actually the one who died. Charlie was riding razzle
Also the Goat/Dragons and Charlie are Hellborn, so Adam going after them would be breaking the agreement.

Not how long that family rate lasts for

Actually he appears because Adam broke the deal by hurting a Hellborn AKA his daughter.
Vivziepop has said that being lgbt doesnt get you thrown in hell so chances are lute wasnt being homophobic. She just had a problem with an angel and a demon being together
So instead of being homophobic, she's being racist. Not much of a difference, really.
In universe she wasnt being homophobic, but it is meant to at least be a parallel for bigotry and homophobia due to who and what Charlie and Vaggie are.
In text, sure. In subtext, it's an obvious stand-in for homophobia, specifically the two different types of homophobia lesbians have to put up with:
Type 1: "Their love is vile and blasphemous"
Type 2: "Hot as fuck though"
@@m.s.5370 How is "Hot as fuck though" homophobia? Not every sentence that vaguely categorizes/generalizes something is immediately homophobia. Things like that are softening the impact words like homophobia should hold.

@@JustAlesan> there is almost no chance he can overwhelm
there is NO CHANCE, PERIOD dude, and anyone who thinks its even remotely possible are delusional.
@@Kebin13 a example how it MIGHT be possible:
- step 1: Alastor uses the deal with charlie to put charlie in real danger (because she doesn't hurt anyone else - so it's compatible with the rules she set)
(we don't 100% know how deals work and if anyone or anything can break it without loophole)
- step 2: he blackmails Lucifer into harvesting his powers or even his soul in exchange to save charlie
But like I said we don't know for sure how power scaling works and how deals are handled.

Love that show
I’m kinda disappointed that Lilith turned out a traitor.
@@ChunkGamesYTWell even if things are bad and she isn’t a great person, this wouldn’t be the first time we saw a character named Lilith get redeemed.
Yeah, it was Alastor's way of trying to regain control because he can't stand not being in control.
Alastor doesnt like people like him@@GuukanKitsune
It's a psychological manipulation tactic known as social engineering, typically exhibited by psychopaths. When Alastor felt that he was threatened, he wanted to re-assert control via attacking lucifer's emotional vulnerabilities.
Good theory may i add up how normaly he flexew power but he was awere of Power diffrence and went after next best thing ?
doesn't charlie also outrank alastor though?
Alastor’s overprotection of Charlie could’ve been a sign of psychopathy. They like to keep a sense of control and have a mental breakdown when they lose it. He clearly sees Lucifer’s power and that intimidates him, making him lose that sense of control.
It's more than that, Aleister has a sinister scheme against the Devil himself.

Great voice……still a crappy person….
“Alastor is trying to daddy”
CLIP IT CLIP IT
Lucifer is honestly the best character in the series for me.
I saw so many people hating on Luzifer and dynamic with charlie "daddy issues" but 99% are baseless claims trying to hate for no reason,
Ofc Luzifer is one of best for me to ,but personaly i wanna know more of vvv and sir peterinus
Well, he is the lord of hatred and suffering.
THISSS
There was very different implications from the Pilot compared to the series in terms of Lucifer.
Maybe they will for next season.
I’m honestly kind of sick of series with a bunch of bloated episodes. Loved this season because it was so tight in its writing!

I think Alastor is acting that way to gain power over Lucifer. Lucifer, being the king of Hell, is much stronger than Alastor, and since he cant beat him with raw strength he's using whatever he can to get control. It's pretty common for psychopaths to act this way

Not Sera.

@@CoRLex-jh5vxI used to watch her a lot when I was younger. I only watch her on rare occasions now because of that very reason.
Or they retconned that
Yeah, about that, Vivzie mentioned in an interview that Vaggie's previous backstory had to be canned during production. She didn't die in 2014 anymore
WAIT UNTIL SHE FINDS OUT!! 😭
1:59:22 so glad someone else noticed how flirty husk was here??? like bro was PURRING that sentence 🤭
LITERALLY. That’s like my favorite part lmao
Fun fact: Mimzy is played by Sarah Stiles aka Spinel.
OHHHH, _THAT'S_ where I've seen Sarah Stiles!!
I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT VOICE
Ahhh I fucking knew it
Adam’s death, I think, shows what remains of his humanity, when Lute calls for him he doesn’t try to say anything, he just smiles like he’s trying to reassure her, he sees how desperate she is and wants to show it’s ok with the little time he has left. I think that despite how much of an a-hole he is, he’s also able to care for other people beside himself (still think he totally deserved it and I hope to see him come back as a demon in season 2, I think he could have a redemption arc if he’s allowed enough time)
All I could think of when we saw Sir Pentious again was: "He'll get to be a real super agent spy this time!!" 😂😂
There's this theory going around that Lucifer's deal with heaven was to protect Charlie
Lucifer would be unable to intervene in any extermination and in return the exorcists are not allowed to harm any hellborn demons.
That's why he didn't come at the start of the battle
He only got the chance to fight when his deal was broken, when Dazzle died and when Adam said he would kill Charlie
although I'll not sure Adam has the angelic ranking to smite Charlie I know Lucifer wouldn't wait and find out
@@TheDarkLordoftheSiff its hard to tell, he looked pretty confident and Charlie seemed genuinely scared for her life there.

Sera: “A soul can be redeemed?”
Emily: “A soul CAN be redeemed!”
He was clearly annoyed the same instant Charlie opened the door xD
I don't think Alastor will be the big series bad tbh. He clearly wants power and isn't really interested in redemption, but maybe his favor from Charlie is simply "Allow me to take your place as ruler." (unless his deal is indeed with Lilith, which I'm not so sure it is anymore, in which case he'd use the favor to break that deal)
I think he just likes pissing people off.
@@LeiRaionI think it is likely he will remain a token evil teammate for a while
Lucifer has depression which reducing your ability to retain memories. Like, medically he can’t remember what she said. That’s probably why he was so anxious to ask. He knew she told him but could remember what she said.
Wait, really?? That explains why my memory is so fricking bad.

I love Alastor
He is so interesting, funny and straight up awesome
"It looks kind of like a big top"
The Sins were envisioned as a circus troupe. Mammon is a clown, Beelzebub is an animal act (hence her flying through rings and the like), and Lucifer is the ringmaster.
And what about ozzy? I haven't heard of this theory/info ever, and I'm curious about it
@@MonitoNoSimp I think Vivzie only explicitly confirmed a couple of them, and Ozzy wasn't one of them, alas.
Agreed!

This season was so good. Definitely lived up to my expectations. The pacing is off at points but I really do think they did the best they could fitting this story into 8 episodes.
I love Emily’s little squeak when she sees sir pentious
what's suspicious to me is that alastor didn't have a holy weapon to fight adam. and sure, while that man is cocky, he's not *stupid*. and we've seen him use his tentacles to grab holy weapons to kill angels around his shield, so it's not like he couldn't have just picked one up for himself. so my theory is that, assuming alastor made a deal with lilith AND lilith had a deal with adam, maybe alastor wasn't allowed to *actually* kill him? idk just some food for thought

SHARK HAZBIN REACTION! BOOYAH💪👊

In defense to Lucifer technically sinners aren’t their people, hellborn demons are so I get his aversion

I think she believes that she was already "demoted" at that point.
That isn't a plot hole lmao, getting hurt and getting killed are different things.
