Roy's comment probably is a bit harsh but I wouldn't say he's wrong. Haaland is one of the best strikers in the world but off the ball he looks awful at times. He's just one of those strikers that heavily relies on service which is fine because his finishing is amazing.

Why would Arsenal risk putting the league out of reach just to win 1 game. Staying in the race is more important. If we go there and lose, that's season done.
City have the easier run in and could easily put together a 9 game winning run, they've done it near every season under Pep. If you want to win the title you have to go for it against City.
You have to beat the best, to be the best. If the season ends and City is above Arsenal by just a single point, are you still happy with your draw?

Defending player is in possession and in control of the ball. The attacking player makes no contact with or even make an attempt to win the ball. Never a penalty, free kick to West Ham. First one was never a pen either. Be raging if I was a hammer

Shearer just trolling because it was for Newcastle, VAR failing again to prevent that error. Should've been a foul for West Ham as Gordon stretches around from behind Phillips to 'tackle' and fails to get anything on the ball.

Gordon also doesn't touch Phillips, we giving fouls for zero contact now? If anyone kicks somebody regardless if a ball is there or not, it is a penalty.
You can call it a soft penalty or incorrect decision, but I don't understand why so many people seem to think it should've been a West Ham free kick. For me, it's a really soft penalty which would've been far more convincing had Gordon got a touch on the ball - Gordon's really good at buying them and Philips should've been more aware of what's around him in the box, which is something a lot of people haven't touched on.

I feel people are two scared to criticise pep with his tactics. They did not create another runner off haaland, Gabriel and saliba where marking him as a two really and not another city player got close enough to haaland to break the two centre halfs
We need to have a serious talk about refs in the PL, that Chelsea pen was just beyond abysmal. It should've been addressed after the Spurs Vs Liverpool game, yet the decisions are just getting worse and worse. These aren't subjective decisions, you can't tell me any sane fan thought that was a penalty.

Reverse the scenario. If it was at the other end, and if it was an attempt at goal, West Ham would've been given a penalty. So, that was clearly a generous gift to Newcastle..
Arsenal needed not to lose. Man City needed to win. Job done Arsenal.
It's a better result for Arsenal than City, but let's face it, Arsenal needed to win too. They're now two points behind Liverpool who arguably have the easier run (especially with EL rather than CL).

It is a better gamble that Liverpool will at least drawn 1 game out of the 9 remaining then risking not getting nothing out of the Man City game and give Man City 3 points and advantage over Arsenal. So frankly this was a good result for Arsenal

You can shield the ball if you have control over it. That's why when you shield the ball without having control, it is deemed obstruction. This incident here was a textbook definition of obstruction. Without having possession or control of the ball, Gordon used his foot to impede Phillips from playing the ball. I really am shocked that Shearer thinks that was a penalty. Even the first one was questionable.

I feel like this Liverpool team is still only 70% of what it could be. So many players still developing and I can only imagine how good Bradley will be in a few years time. Could argue only White has been in better form at RB since he came into the team.

It was such an odd match yesterday, to me as a neutral, that game was there to be won and i think if eirher side had taken a little bit more risk, tbey would of won. City were so poor for their stabdards, arsenal didnt seem to want it enough and from minute 1 they always seemee happy with a point

If arsenal had dared to take even 20% more of a risk than they did, I think they could of won it. City were so so poor for their standards. This match was eventually a title decider. Now liverpool lead and have to win every game from here on.
Arsenal have gone past the boogie under its bed, now it's upto them to keep winning every game.
As far as city goes, they need to up their game and keep the winning streak going till the end of the season.

What differentiates the top teams from the rest is intelligence and my Lord Man City and Arsenal have it in abundance across their teams. Arsenal's defence are so so so intelligent and if a top team decides to defend, good luck getting through.
The first team to stop City scoring at home in 3 years. Limiting City to 1 shot on target while Arsenal had 4. And the better chances. Although it was a draw and a bit boring overall it shows we are are very good team.

TBF with regards to Anthony Gordon and the penalties, I do agree with those who criticize the play as not being in the spirit of the game, HOWEVER you see players do effectively the same thing to win fouls elsewhere on the pitch and they're called fouls.
For 90' we watch players step between the ball and the defender, making no play on the ball, and winning a foul. So by the way the rule is exercised, I can see why the penalties were called.
Imagine if it was Mourinho Vs Conte instead of Pep vs Arteta wouldn’t say it was a 0-0 tactical affair

The thing with the Gordon one is that the contact is made, Phillips is kicking harder but so is Gordon, phillips is actually going to hit the ball, Gordon is nowhere near the ball. If the striker is the one kicking and a defender stuck their leg in he'd probably get a pen. Foul to phillips should have been the right call.

Arsenal weren't brave. They put everyone except Havertz behind the ball for 90 mins. The only teams who properly challenge city to a game of football are Liverpool and Brighton.

If I were you I’d raise my hand and say if we opened up they’d kill us and that’s why we chose to approach it the way we did. If the Newcastle Penalty had been up the other end and Alan had been pulling the trigger to shoot and a defender did what Gordon did he would have been screaming for a foul against him. Gordon fouled Phillips all day long, did the same from an offside position on Coufal too

Macca has been excellent for Brighton, the NT and Liverpool for the very elast two straight seasons, putting excellent perfomances time and again but the lad is always under the radar, it's getting a bit bizarre. Kudos for Alan for mentioning him.

It’s not Gordon’s fault that Phillips is too slow to clear the ball. Gordon doesn’t foul Phillips when he steps in front and when Phillips goes for the ball he kicks Gordon instead. That’s a foul/pen every time.
For tittle contenders that was awfull from both sides,no one actually wanted to win.Tittle contenders dont do such things,they go for the throat if 1 side shows weakness,after City center back went off they had the upper hand for like 10 mins and then went back to their original plan.That was the best chance to take City and you didnt take it.

Coming away with a draw was fair as city dominated possession and Arsenal done what they done all season defended well. They have the best defensive record this season, however I do think Arsenal should of gone for it as city were missing players and were vulnerable.
