This is consistent with many Arsenal fan's mindset. They have a completely unique take on what they want from their team. All of them I have discussed it with have prefered to have won just a PL title going undefeated all season than to win it losing one game but also winning the CL the same season. Thinking a stat (albeit a good one) is more significant than being champions of Europe is absurd to me, I cant even remember what year they did it, but I know Arsenal did the double in 1971, 1998 and 2002. But each to their own, I suppose. Winning as many trophies as possible isn't as important to them as it is to supporters of all other teams.

personally speaking as a united fan, i think the FA cup has made up for the rest of the season, in the sense that it's how i feel right now. The fact we get europa next year. Kicked chelsea into the conference league and kicked newcastle out entirely. It's effectively a 5th place finish in the league (europa) as well as winning the FA cup. Like in terms of how the season went, yeah it went horribly but somehow we ended up in a pretty good spot at the end of it.
Of course Liverpool had a better season than Arsenal. They both qualified for the champions league, and Liverpool walked away with a league cup on top of it.

I have a very simple question to Arsenal fans. Suppose Arteta stays at Arsenal for 10 years and finish 2nd every season without domestic trophy while ETH stays at Man Utd for 10 years and wins FA cup every year while finishing 10th which position would rather want your team to be in.

As a Utd fan, I can't say we had a better season than Arsenal or Liverpool. Had we been in the UCL, we definitely had a better season than them. Finishing 2nd or 3rd without a trophy is a forgetful season. Finishing 4th with a FA cup is a decent season with something to remember. Having said that, Utd didn't have a better season but but but.. beating City against all odds and dumping Chelsea and Newcastle and ending this horrendous season with the FA Cup display, we definitely finished the season on a real high. As fans, we've had more consistent joy over the course of the season and we have more hope for the future than they do. All of them I have discussed it with have prefered to have won just a PL title going undefeated all season than to win it losing one game but also winning the CL the same season.
Thinking a stat (albeit a good one) is more significant than being champions of Europe is absurd to me, I cant even remember what year they did it, but I know Arsenal did the double in 1971, 1998 and 2002. But each to their own, I suppose.

personally speaking as a united fan, i think the FA cup has made up for the rest of the season, in the sense that it's how i feel right now. The fact we get europa next year. Kicked chelsea into the conference league and kicked newcastle out entirely. It's effectively a 5th place finish in the league (europa) as well as winning the FA cup.
Like in terms of how the season went, yeah it went horribly but somehow we ended up in a pretty good spot at the end of it.
Of course Liverpool had a better season than Arsenal.
They both qualified for the champions league, and Liverpool walked away with a league cup on top of it.

I have a very simple question to Arsenal fans. Suppose Arteta stays at Arsenal for 10 years and finish 2nd every season without domestic trophy while ETH stays at Man Utd for 10 years and wins FA cup every year while finishing 10th which position would rather want your team to be in.
As a historically successful club, Manchester United fans would usually have high expectations. An FA Cup alone might not meet those expectations.
The disappointment of finishing 8th in the league amplifies the significance of their FA Cup win.
Arsenal fans appreciate consistent league performances, but they also crave trophies. Missing out on the FA Cup might be frustrating for them. Context matters as well. Arsenal’s expectations differ from those of Manchester United. Going into this season, Man utd's target would definitely be minimum to finish top 4 off the back of last season's 3rd, yet they came 8th. Man utd's minimum expectation would generally be to make the round of 16 of the UCL regardless of the group they're drawn in. Not only did they crash out in the group stages, but they also finished the bottom of the group. Bear in mind the quality of oppositions they were up against relative to their own team. The league cup, though many may not see this being important or rather their not being any sort of expectations at all in this cup based on the quality of teams put out.
Now compare all that I said to Arsenal's. Arsenal challenged last year, and the minimum they are expected to do is challenge for the league, which they did and came 2nd. Their FA cup run was way below par getting knocked out in the 3rd round despite their expectation being to make a deep run (semi). In the UCL, they would be required to qualify from their group stage and make a deep run in the competition. They made a quarter final for the first time in 14 years. Overall despite utd winning a trophy when you apply context utd has absolutely not have a better season than arsenal. That's like saying Wigan having a better season than everyone in the league who did not win a trophy despite getting relegated. That's like saying chelsea had a better season than everyone who did not win a trophy despite finishing 8th in 2012 but winning the UCL. West ham won the conference league but finished 15th last season. Did they have a better season than everyone who did not ? Trophies are the primary goal but not the only criteria to measure a successful season relative to another. Utd literally also finished TWENTY-NINE points behind arsenal... wow

As a Utd fan, I can't say we had a better season than Arsenal or Liverpool. Had we been in the UCL, we definitely had a better season than them. Finishing 2nd or 3rd without a trophy is a forgetful season. Finishing 4th with a FA cup is a decent season with something to remember. Having said that, Utd didn't have a better season but but but.. beating City against all odds and dumping Chelsea and Newcastle and ending this horrendous season with the FA Cup display, we definitely finished the season on a real high. Let's be honest, even City players and fans are mooted from the loss even though they win unprecedented fourth epl in a row.
