The second Patricia enters the 'Zelda' vochal register... I'm back placing 'silent princess' flowers on the light dragons mane. She deserves her own main Zelda title.
Part of the reason I romanced Astarion in BG3 is because he gave me Jareth in Labyrinth vibes (I adore David Bowie), so hearing Neil bring up Bowie is always a treat. And BoTW/ToTK Zelda is absolutely my favorite Zelda. Her dorkiness and insecurity makes her so relatable.
@@governor_explosion in case you haven't, you should watch Neil's playthrough of BG3, the episodes are here on youtube on his official channel (just search for Astarion actor plays bg3) literally his character is called Bow'ee bc of David Bowie, he's a big fan!!
Two of my all-time favourite games: Baldur's Gate 3 and Breath of the Wild. Two of my all-time favourite characters: Astarion and Princess Zelda (okay, many Zeldas, but BotW/TotK Zelda is definitely one of the top). This was such a surreal delight! (Character-wise, though, I definitely would want to see Zelda and Gale nerding out together, and I feel Astarion and Link could match chaos levels nicely!)
I know fan canon link is supposed to be a nut, but I feel like he has a very strong moral code, which would not vibe with Astarion. Gale and Zelda being friends is spot on though. Funny how different those games are, yet how much they relate!
@gooseguyfilms4460 oh for sure, they'd both set a bokoblin camp on fire then Astarion would say something rude about orphans and Link would just be like, "...dude. Uncool."
@@gooseguyfilms4460 Yeah, he canonically does have a strong moral code. He's a paladin archetype, essentially. That fan idea 99.9% memes, shitposting and people projecting. It got out of hand when people started forgetting all of his knight/royal guard lore and genuinely saying unga bunga selfish caveman Link is the "canon" one. He did lose his memory at first, but it's canon that he gets all the memories you obtain in botw, and chooses to remain Zelda's knight and follow her where she goes post-botw. He's not actually someone who would shirk all responsibility carelessly and not care about anyone but himself. That doesn't align with Zelda or any other character's description of his character (nor would it make for a very good hero, in my view).
@@KairiKey989 oh yeah totally, but I think based on in game dialogue options, Mipha’s description of his childhood personality, and his goofy reactions while cooking, disguising as a Gerudo, and the fact that he’ll apparently eat anything suggests that deep down, he really is a childish goofy maniac, but scarred by the trauma of responsibility. Even so, both ways he has a deep rooted moral code and obligation. I think Link in botw is actually super well written, yet the information telling you this is just all so obscurely and haphazardly put together around the game world. Now that I think of it, he would get along really well with Karlach. Probably would admire Wyll’s heroic obligations. Probably would try to fix shadowheart to no avail. Don’t think things would go well with Lae’zel trying to boss him around. Would vibe with Astarion’s energy until he does something evil. Probably would be cool with Gale considering his best friend is princess Zelda and he’s also acquainted with Robbie and Purah. Probably would kill Minthara before they could become a companion. Probably would work with Jahira (I don’t remember how to spell some of these names, it been a while). Him and Minsc would be best friends.
It’s always fascinating to hear about the work and life of actors, the good points especially, but damn I don’t like hearing of anyone being pushed to overdo it and asked to keep going. Clearly 25 was plenty. I’ve had back and hand pain for a very long time, the wrist is a sensitive joint and stuff doesn’t always just recover. They’re adorable together, very fun interview.
What i love about Neil is how easy-going he is (English isn't my native language so i'll excuse if that was a poor choice of words). What i mean by that is that sometimes or often celebrities come of as high & mighty or monosyllabically to, say meet & greets. Neil is the type of person that makes you feel like you're talking to an old friend or someone you've known your whole live. As an introvert who rarely starts any conversation i this as a big plus.
@@Pendragon667 I’d say your word choice was accurate! I could also see “down to earth” matching the feeling you were going for, but I think easy-going is also a good way to describe his personality.
So nice to see these two together again! I was able to see them (along with David Hayter) at Fan Expo Vancouver in 2024, really kind and thoughtful and very funny!
I loved this arrangement question and answer out of the bowl, it was very classy--and then, at the end I love it, Neil tried to dive over the bar. Lol😂 Thank you, wonderful one, for posting this. 😊 I love it and he is so sweet and she is even more of a sweetie! ❤❤❤ That was a great q and a. 😅😊😊😊
Gods, zelda (ocarina of time) was my first ever game, BG3 is my hyperfiction for over a year now. This combination is everything, I love them together.
I love hearing stories of the early experiences of entertainers. I am not sure that I am going to achieve anything at all, but I am also trained and struggling for a break into storytelling while maintaining financial battles all the damn time. I don't imagine being unique, but with peers, the feeling is that this is the norm, and there's no hope. With these two, I got a sense that a lot of great talented people, a lot of successful individuals, are doing everything necessary, and it is still a great matter of chance to actually be a fitting part of the puzzle of a project, and not being the case does not mean your work so far is bad or meaningless. I wish I had known that earlier as not finding the creative matches for your professional path does get to your head whilst making a buck away from your passions.
Don't be discouraged by not having found a creative partner. It's something that has been on my mind as well, since I've started working towards my newfound career (and life) path. Breaking into story telling is both easier than it's ever been and harder. Harder because writing in general is a heavily saturated field of creative work, but easier in that there are many resources one can use to get themselves out there. I've heard of Amazon having this publishing service that will actually ship your stuff, sites like wordpress that let you make your own website to show your work off (for free), tons of options. Eventually someone is bound to find you and want to work with you but not before you just do the work and get it out there for people to see.
Almost makes me wish BG3 had a scene where Astarion would Disguise Self as a woman for some skullduggery. Patricia would have been perfect for that part!
Didnt knew Zelda VA but i will go gay just for Neil T,T ... Hope his carrier just go higher and higher, i think he is such a good VA and a cool guy x.x
I appreciate Troy’s honesty about the cabinet fight. But honestly, he could’ve improv’d some fun into it, rather than just giving up on it. It’s an apothecary cabinet! You could add all kinds of fun stuff to it to beak the construct armor. One of its drawers could have explosive materials in it. There could be instructions in the room that tell how to dispell the magic animating it. Make it vulnerable to axe damage. Turning a slog fight into a puzzle fight has worked wonders for me in the past. Nobody ever complains if you change an encounter to be more fun. And honestly, they’d never know anyway.
Love it when two professionals vibe off each other and just have a nice conversation.
Okay it's time to draw Astarion and Zelda as best friends now...
I definitely want to see this picture!
I also need to see this picture
As "roommates"
The second Patricia enters the 'Zelda' vochal register... I'm back placing 'silent princess' flowers on the light dragons mane. She deserves her own main Zelda title.
Unfortunately Echoes of Wisdom isn’t voiced. Maybe when/if we get another Zelda protagonist game🤷🏿♂️
Neil's commitment to the bit of exiting by vaulting the counter was fantastic
Patricia absolutely nailed the Astarion impression
Neil was so ready to do the Astarion voice. He was waiting for that moment to come in the interview
I'll never get enough of listening to Neil talk about his life and working experiences and him just being a silly chaotic goose

Omg the most unexpected but amazing crossover ever. Zelda and Link in a Baldur's Gate 3 setting would freak tf out so hardcore
6:13 !! omg stop, I always thought about Amadeus when I heard that laugh I am so happy to hear that that was the intention xDD

Gosh Neil is just so good with people.
I love this interview so much. What Neil says about the piece of direction he received really resonated with me.
Yes, I think this is also useful for any job interview.
Super cute interview. Loved learning about some of the nuts and bolts of their character accents.

I met Patricia back at fan expo in 2019!! She’s such a lovely person❤ Soft spoken and very kind!!
"naughty" Astarion is one of my favorite video game characters
Haha the end! This was great thanks!
yeah I as like OF COURSE NEIL
bg3 and totk are my favourite games im having the time of my life rn
Same ❤️
Your honor, i fear I'm obsessed
Neil looks like he gives great hugs and cuddles.
this was such a cool interview!! love seeing two greats riff off each other
That was such a fun conversation between two amazing actors! Glad I was able to watch it. Thanks! 😊

Patricia NEEDS to play Zelda's mother in the Zelda movie! She would be a perfect Queen Zelda!
Gods, zelda (ocarina of time) was my first ever game, BG3 is my hyperfiction for over a year now. This combination is everything, I love them together.
Thank you both for an enchanting little interlude.
I like that they gave an example of the laugh from Amadeus cause side by side it's uncanny :D
6:00 I KNEW I HEARD IT SOMEWHERE! Shame I couldn't connect 2 and 2😅
Referencing Amadeus is actually awesome
I need to see more of Patricia! Love her roles so much.
My two favorite game series crossing over? This is fantastic
The movie that I was drawn to as an awakening was "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" I had a mad crush on Jessica Rabbit.

Okay, I didn't expect that ending. Alrighty then!
Tom Petty's "Wildflowers". That is a PERFECT choice.
If Zelda actually meets Astarion, he's going to corrupt her in no time at all
Oh she is gorgeous

That's why people make mods.
Hey looks, it’s the guy who voiced Zeon from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Better get your spuds
I love Neil
Really wish Patricia had just used her regular speaking voice for Zelda. It’s so much better.
The amadeus-astarion connection is not one I would've made on my own but I will be forever unable to hear
Really cool!
He was in Discovery?!
"Back of the throat even if its the front of the mouth" sounds like the kind of nonsense instructions my dad would give me.

Family, romance, pit!
Sounds NOTHING like Zelda lol. Very impressive that she can just turn it on like that!

Back when Ubisoft wasn't doing moronic things...
Of course Astarion. *yawn* sunlight sensitive creatures that have no problems in sunlight. Thanks Divinity 3.
