Interesting points on resale value. For me it’s a non-issue since my bike is my keeper. Crash bar is a nice and inexpensive upgrade to consider if you don’t have it. Protects bike but also can place your highway pegs on them.
Dirty Deez already got the crash bars...actually considering removing them so I can fit forward controls? Maybe I need to invest in a different set of crash bars that will allow me to have forwards and protection 🤘
The Screamin Eagle stage 3 & 4 aren't something you buy to look and make your money back. And as for the St 3 & St 4 are approved by Harley to run for more then 30k. But to each their own brother. I myself will get a St 3 for my Sport Glide:) Great video brother and ride safe!!!!
Great vlog mate, liked hearing your thought process, made sense. Have to agree on the tyres, in the dry they're actually really very good but the wet is a different story... I've been riding sideways, wheel spinning and fishtailing through the Autumn, I'll be changing mine as well as soon as I can afford it. Ride safe pal.
@@StreetBobberVlogger you'll definitively notice so much more grip had a set on my old 1200 Nightster and beforehand i was drifting coming out of corners on a regular basis but the switch was definitely worth it and even after 6,000+ miles they still had loads of tread left so 100% worth it. And they do a nice set of white walls too if you like that classic look 👌
Spend the money on a tour or two with your Stage 2 beast. Definitely recommend forwards it makes such a difference and I'm 5ft8. HD fitted the Fat Bob forwards but went with the breakout rear brake setup which sits higher makes it easier to use. Keep 'em coming.
Shawn Atwell that’s the forwards I’m thinking of going for 🤘 Euro tour seems the obvious goal for next summer...through the Alps...all those twisties 🤘
My buddy has those Michelin Commanders on his Fat Bob,and loves them. Who makes forward controls for the Street Bob,thats what is stopping me from pulling the trigger on one right now,i dont like the mid forward control they have right now,i feel like my knees are around my ears
Road Rash HD ahh ok I’ll have a look at those! As for forwards, you can buy the Fat Bob forward controls from HD and they fit perfectly. That what I’m going to do👌
If you're gonna spend that kind of money on extra power, you'd be better off getting a Lower Rider S or even a Breakout. And you're 100% correct, you'll never get that money back on power upgrades
BOMBER dude if they dude an M8 Lowrider S I’d be all over that shiz! Still think Stage 2 is enough for me though...it’s so much fun and I know I can rely on it if you know what I mean 🤘😉
Smart man. There is a chance you'll throw your 💰 in the trash can if you go for the stage 3 or 4 engine build. And even make the bike more difficult to sell then it needs to be down the line. Brakes. Wheels and tires. Because you can pull them and sell down the line. Yes, I've bought a new since. Carburetor. Exhaust. Front suspension. Rear suspension. Driver Seat. Passenger seat. Let's. Bags. Windshield. Lights etc. But I can and will pull it all if I ever sell it. Just a thought. Tcrs
Richard Enstad yeah you’re right...strip what you can down and re use! Although if you go from a twin cam to an M8 some bit might not fit 🤘Definitely going with forward, breaks and wheels hopefully before the summer starts 👌
How much more are you going to mod your bike? How about put more videos about you taking a trip with it and with some reviews of the ride? I already have 7xxx km on mine with Stage 1
Good for you, mate! Use the cash for trips, pay off the bike faster, track time, or... well... you don't seem like the squeamish type, so let me just say it: when you drop her. God forbid that happens, but it's not what one would call uncommon on a motorbike. New tyres and/or brakes provide the most performance difference for the least amount of money (IMO). As for specific tyres, I live in California, so you'll have to explain this "rain" thing to me (haha). Actually, it's raining cats & dogs right now :-)
It's not 1970 anymore. I was talking to a bike shop owner who knows a guy with a Yami Tenere with 400k miles on it. SRKCycles has several vids of HDs with over 100k miles. You ain't gonna kill that thing running it up from 40 to 70 mph. These things ain't that delicate.
saddlebag you are right...the stick bikes will run for miles and miles...but the aftermarket parts are not quite as good unfortunately. Quite a few reviews with similar failures with Stage3 & 4 kits. Unfortunately they just “fall apart” after a given time. Even my deal told me to be weary of the complications that can occur with the Stage 3 and 4 kits. Not worth the risk and hassle for me 🤘🤘🤘
I think the problem you're hearing about is called "sumping." Basically, something about the design starves the oil pump and fills the dry sump full of oil. That's a good way to tell if you have the problem, but the bigger issue is that oil isn't getting to the places it needs to be to cool and lubricate the engine. From the people who ride hard, long, and often, this seems to be a problem with the design of them all, but you're right, people with the 117 CVOs seem to bear the brunt of the problems. The more powerful the engine, the more frequent and severe the problem. HD supposedly has a new seal, shown on some parts breakouts that keeps the oil where it needs to be for proper pickup by the oil pump. Time will tell, but hopefully they got that issue sorted. Shame as otherwise that M8 is a really nice engine.
saddlebag agreed...I guess until they come up with a really good upgrade it’s always going to be the same. It’s a price some people are shilling to pay, or a price people don’t care about!? As with most things, it’s a personal preference. Even knowing stuff can go wrong. It can mean you don’t care and do it anyway or you don’t? End of the day it’s your bike, your choice. It’s a fun upgrade. 🤘
sebastian ganci no is the basic answer...but obviously anything is possible if you have the money. You’d need to chop the rear fender for one...possible swap out the rear for a BreakOut or LowRider swing arm? But just changing the tires won’t work...I’ve measured and tbh anything over 160 tire is gonna be really tight.
Use some funds for a trip abroad next year or two take your bike through Spain Italy Germany or France how about rental harley in America lots you can do for around 2-3 grand. Went to the bourdux region can't never spell that in South France dordogne euro train return just under couple of hundred quid rented accommodation cost me around £280 for 5 days it was around 500 miles from calis the route I took. Great time weather brilliant not many pot holes.
I know I told you it wasn't worth doing a Stage 3or 4 to the bile but if you do do it eventually I would go down the S&S option, their stuff is of far bettet quality. Check out their RUclips vids, you end up with a stronger motor, just sent this as an afterthought 👍👍😎
Geoff Oz Evans I hear you brother and don’t worry I’ve done my research 👌...honestly I think for the money a Stage 2 is plenty for me. But thanks for the heads up 🙏🤘
metzeler marathon 888 ultra - best I've ever tried... keeps me hella confident in all weather
Thomas Nordlund two of you have mentioned these tires now...I’m going to have to investigate 👌 Thanks man 🤘

Its tough...im still enjoying the stage 2, but who knows how my mind will change?🤘

Eskrimadors Gym same here buddy...as soon as I can I’m changing them 🤘
For tyres avon cobras or Metzeller 888s bud. Much better grip in colder conditions & they last so much longer than standard HD tyres
David MacFarlane Day awesome I’ll check those 888s out. I think tires are a must in these new HD’s. I’ve heard new tires make a massive difference 👌🤘

You've got one of the best looking bobber i've seen aronud!! I really enjoy you videos!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it! ;)
I think you are making the right call. Cost vs return is questionable. Function all around and reliable make more sense.
James Menard 100% 🤘
Hello! Nice vid!
Is your handle bar an XR type bar, as the 1200 Nightster, please?

Good call bro. There are tons of other mods you can do on our bikes.

That's because, stage 5 or go home! Nah, same here, I'd love to but a stage 5 is $7000 au. Not bad if you need a rebuild anyway! Maybe look at S&S?

How about put more videos about you taking a trip with it and with some reviews of the ride?

Krazed Rider spring is only 5 months away my friend hahahahaha! Soon! Soon! 😂🤘😬😉

Alan Crane that’s a great idea! European tour 🤘Just gotta find someone to ride with haha!
I really enjoy all your videos but this whole driving on the wrong side of the road thing has me thoroughly weirded out
Haha! Thanks buddy! You are not the first to be weirded out by the "wrong side of the road" riding! Imagine how I feel hahahaha!
If you decide to stage it... go with s and s parts they are far superior
Vaughn Fontenot I have thought about them but still think Stage 2 is enough for me! 🤘
Nothing wrong with that. Enjoy it
