Thank you for helping me to get off the plantation. I also listened to the video y'all did with Dr. Kimani.( I hope I spelled her name correctly). After that video,I was over it. I quit my job two days before my 56th birthday. I have started an ecommerce business,a business consulting business and am working on a DIY course for those who are financially challenged. I did the math on what I was making and it was not mathing. It should not take two weeks to make 1225 after taxes. I am smarter than that. Trust me I am over it and now I am investing in myself so I can help others break free from the chain and ball. No more Massa jobs for me!

Thank you for your video. It brought me a lot of inspiration and insight into what I need to do to get out of my job. I’ve been at my job for 20 years and I cannot retire for another 10 years. I am 49 years old. I cannot last another 10 years in this dream taking, controlling, fake, structurally violent work environment. I am planning my exit. I will still get a pension when I turn 65, but it will not be the full amount if I stay the full 30 years, but I’m fine with that. My stomach is constantly in knots and I feel like it’s because of my job. I will continue to watch your videos 😊
What’s making me anxious at my job, is the waking up every morning trying to make it on time. As I get older, waking up is not the same as when I was younger. I was 10 minutes late the other week and my 35 year old supervisor told me that I can be written up. My sup has only been working here for 8 years. Anybody that has been coming into the same job for 20 years, they are going to be late a few times.

That was initially my fear when starting my RUclips channel especially on marriage and relationship how was I supposed to compete with the “big name” channels but I let go of that worry and told myself that our channel is not like anybody else’s and pushed forward!

Right?!?! Our spirit knows what is aligned with love and compassion and was is aligned with greed and evil.
My fulfillment and values were rooted outside of my job. I found joy in sports and in raising my son within our church community. Upon retirement, I pursued a career as a Golf Instructor, finding fulfillment in both teaching and giving back to the community.
Sounds like you were A LOT more healthy than we were. We never worked less than about 55 hours per week. 😳
I say all the time that im institionalized at work.....like the little old man from Shawshank redemptionn that couldnt make it on the outside 😮

I was asked to resign without a pension. I work in the legal profession and it does not always a pension. I do have social security and that’s all. Any advice?
I'm know professional but that's almost like age discrimination which is illegal,you earned it
Once you decide what your future monthly expense will be, subtract social security from that number. You should have 25x the gap. e.g. monthly budget is $3000, social security is 1800. The gap is $1200 = 14400 per year x 25 = $360,000 that you need to have in investment accounts. OR you could have rental properties that bring in $1200 per month. Either way you should have a very healthy emergency fund - we like a minimum of 1-2 years living expenses.
