The funny thing about the Gumby robbery sketch is that something like that actually happened 14 years later as someone in a Gumby costume tried to rob a convenience store.
Either MADTV predicted the future or someone got way too inspired by that sketch.

I noticed they used a Major Chip Hazard toy for Small Soldiers as the National Small Guard figure for the Furby sketch. What’s also funny is that the Furby toys bear a slight resemblance to the Mogwai’s from Gremlins. Both Small Soldiers and that movie were made by the same director: Joe Dante.
