There's a big emotional punch when he's just a broken man yelling at his older self. "I don't want your suffering, I don't want your future." Then, being patient with himself, he calm says that line, knowing exactly the pain he was in back then.

2024 and I STILL BELIEVE THIS IS THE BEST MARVEL MOVIE ever made. The storyline, the cinematography, the feels, how every mutant showcased their full potentials and the heartbreak of seeing them still not winning against the sentinels. No other mcu movie can ever top the feels I had when I first watched this movie.

The X men saga were always a story about people trying to do the right thing, no action and jokes unless is necessary, powerful music and performances, a mature story even for pg13 movies except the Deadpool films and Logan who are rated R.
This movie is a masterpiece in how it logically and perfectly retcons the stuff that didn't work from the original trilogy while retaining the stuff that did.

In my opinion honestly, this movie was better than Endgame. Storywise, how it was filmed, feeling the emotions and passion into this movie, the CGI still holds up a lot better than Endgame which in this case the movie is almost 10 years old..

@Julianjulesr1361 There is no way Endgame is better than Days of Future Past. Endgame is just toy commercial with a dark tone. There are no deep messages. Characters in Endgame are misused and or underrepresented. The whole time travel premise is ridiculous and poorly explained in Endgame.

B R Actually it wiped out all 3 of the first X-Men movies, The Wolverine (2013) and everything in Wolverine Origins except for the beginning when he’s a kid and when he fights in all the wars leading up to 1973. Which means it erased Weapon 11 Deadpool as well. The only movie it didn’t affect was First Class.

Back here after Deadpool and Wolverine, which I absolutely loved, but Xmen as a franchise peaked right here, the trailer was as good as the film, the meeting of old and future Xmen, the emotional weight of the story, this film has it all

Even though this is considered to be part of the First Class trilogy and features the new cast for a good amount of time, I always consider this to be a film about the old cast, since these are the characters some of us have been following from the beginning, and they are the ones who've been taking the longer journey. This is X-Men 4.
It's a perfect sequel to both really. It balances both casts arguably better than in their other films (besides like X2 of course).
I prefer the McAvoy & Fassbender era a wee bit more tbh.

When this trailer dropped the amount of hype in me was on another level. Then I went in saw it in theaters. Walking out after it ended and realizing that it lived up to the hype made me so happy.
The post credit scene made me even more hyped for apocalypse, and that DID NOT live up to the hype...

I gotta say, something about this trailer really hits home, especially now, as I am something of an old soul and I am hitting 40. So to any youngster or person who stumbles on this comment. When you start to look at the world, and your life, it is very possible that you will realize how much time and energy you will waste on unproductive or negative things. You also might see the path before you, and say, "you don't want our suffering, you don't want out future". Well we are all on this earth for a short period of time, and what we do with that time is important. So please, take the time for yourselves to work out the pain or anything else that drags you down. Because in the end, you will inherit this world from the generation before you, and bequeath it to the next generation behind you, and if you are to do well with the time you have, we need you to hope again.

Daniel Rubio Yes, I do think that because this is an actual trailer. Thr comic con MOS trailer was just a teaser & although it did have an awsome score and beautiful dialogue, this one had that and more.

Guardians? Debatable since they both are almost completely different from one another. There are some things one does better than the other and vice-versa.

And for me, right before the first trailer in 2013-2014. i just see only the picture in july 2013, and i knew it - it is for me. I felt inside me . X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is the best and THE BEST .

Emmanuel Margaritis no it was't terrible but i wasn't good by any means, especially after jewels like this one. yeah i mean guardians of the galaxy. That one is in my opinion the best superhero movie ever. There are better movies like The dark knight but I don'y think of that one as a superhero movie. Guardians was so much fun just like a comic book and could at the same time manage to be an amazing film.

I love the X-Men movies but I think the height of their power and popularity probably peaked between X-2 and Last Stand. The focus shifted more to the MCU and that was the main focusing when this movie came out.
Who knew the MCU would actually acknowledge this masterpiece 8 years later; then break our hearts by killing Xavier a third time

This movie wasn't just a perfect X-Men movie, but a really perfect, well-written movie overall!
As 2023 is ending, I would like to comment that this movie was apart of my childhood and it was the year the movie took place in! The whole future seemed so hopeless and the x men were near extinction, truly a dire situation. But the future was changed and everything became better for a few years until Logan came :( I sure hope the future in real life will not be so dark

I remember the first time i saw this trailer my mind was absolutely blown at Xavier meeting Xavier. I haven't read any of the comics so i didnt know how it'd work. Its just as stunning in the actual film as it is here

Makes sense given that Deadpool and Wolverine is easily the biggest Xmen film since DoFP in terms of impact for the xmen movie universe and also bringing together old faces.
Happy to see Michael Fassbender (younger Magneto) again. His performance in First Class was amazing, almost like he was the perfect suit for Magneto.
