I can look past the tone difference in the SHMA neck more than I can the jagged joint positioned tail and elongated head in the NECA figure.
In other words: shma is bad at the paint like they rushed on it Neca has a cheaper price but barely has articulation Edit: shma or neca if you see this just ignore it

The sculpt and articulation stomps, the face is movie accurate, the tail actually involves the hideous face and the tall height adds extra points. People are complaining about the paint peeling off and showing red and I'm like "that makes it more movie accurate!" The only thing Neca has better is the price! XD
i understand why they went glossy but they went way yo high gloss should be semi gloss because his skin is suppose to look like magma. but the color on both just isnt right they need to be a charcoal grey with orange and red blood in the cracks

NECA figure has slightly better paint but SHMA is better in every other way. NECA Shin-Goji's big flaw is the proporitons/anatomy, they are pretty drastically off from how Shin Godzilla really looks and the head looks quite off. NECA figure still looks great and the fact that it holds a candle to SHMA despite being 30 dollars to SHMA's hundreds of dollars is incredible, you can't do any better than NECA when it comes to budget figures.
Better scuplt: SHMA Better paint: NECA Better size: SHMA Better value: NECA Better QC: NECA (barely) Better articulation:SHMA (no competition) Better overall:NECA, it's a tough decision but you have to think about the difference between paying $100 more for a better sculpt and a worse paint job. $20 is just a steal for what you get compared to SHMA

Sadly the worst part of the Neca figure is that weird gloppy thick paint job on the tail tip with what looks like Doritos stuck all over it and the sloppy painted teeth and jaw. But if you wanna swing by the Toho Kingdom Forums under the Neca discussion tread you can see pictures I posted in the last couple of days were I stripped a lot of the thick paint off the Neca figure's tail and actually completely repainted it to show that the sculpted tail tip of the Neca is almost exactly the same as the Monster Arts one just received some horrible factory paint application. Between a little paint touch ups for the face, spines, and tail tip and you can get a significantly better looking figure, you just have to have the skill and the patience to put a little effort into it. Yes, the head sculpt is still a bit off and it's placement at the neck isn't exactly movie accurate, but for $20 something bucks it's a good bargain.

godzilla 2014 actually the necca is better because they managed to paint it correctly, the details are visible, it looks exactly like in the movie, and it's affordable

I feel that the neca shingoji is better because of value for money, you can't stab yourself on the spines, and the paint is more consistent. though its smaller its still has a lot of mass compared to other godzilla figures.
