You should do more videos like this I think a lot of drivers/new drivers struggle with running there truck like myself.
Love all this information brother appreciate you
Thank You T3!👊👊👊
This is very important!!! Thank you for the content brother! 🤙🏾
Thanks for stopping by Tyler👊
Great information
Thank you for speaking like you don’t have some gang affiliation or you’re some sort of gangster.
Great information and I showed my trainer the otr app u talk about and man I tell you it's a great way to help your business so I'm definitely going to use it when it's time for me great information again haven't had the chance to reach out yet been running my miles but we'll talk soon 👍
Trip plan…. There is no need to trip plan!! Just a box of crayons, coloring book and flip flops is all you need. 😂 In all seriousness i’m glad you put out this video. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of trip planing. Once I get a load before that truck moves I’ve done all the research on the pickup and drop location. Also have reviewed my route and determined my stop location(s) as well as a few alternates. The other thing I’ll check is weather to see if there are any potential concerns.
This subject should be emphasized more during training. This with log management is so important.
PS everyone should have a trucking atlas.
I have an atlas but haven't used it in 9 years. I google from my location to the 01 and from 01 to the 90 and usually take shortest rte. I only do all my research on the customers after I get dispatched. All interstates and state hwys and US hwys are clear of low clearances based on my travels. I know they are out there I haven't been there yet.
Running recaps makes me more tired when I do team. I prefer 10 hour shifts.
It’s all good! There’s a million ways to Truck!👍💪
Great video bro.
What do you do as far as staying healthy and trying to to get or stay in shape?
Gonna do this video just for you!👍
I bought an Atlas the first day I left my trainers truck. 400,000 miles later. I've never used that damn book. I've been to every state but Nevada. As of now, hauling reefer, I travel to the East Coast frequently. It's a worthless book.
I've used the same Garmin since day one. Update it regularly, and you'll be fine.
I agree as well. The atlas isn't worthless. It has some good info. But I haven't used it in probably ten years. There's only two low clearances I've encountered in my time. I run off Google maps and my navigation system. They have served me well for over ten years.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it
I will say Garmin won't tell you which states require shortened tandems - the atlas will. Got a $250 ticket in Florida for having my wheels too far back
"i cant pick it up till 11 o'clock at night" what happened to "pick it up 24 hours early in this freight market"?
Encyclopedias, naughty magzines, and a road atlas. What do they all have in common?
Obsolete
Awesome vid, ya got it goin', great points, thanks fr8rsk8r!
😎😎
Great advice as a 5 year driver and former trainer that's similar to what I told new drivers always know before you go that includes weather
Most definitely👍
That's the rule I live by. I don't move until I know how to get to the shipper and check in. Same for the receiver well before I get there.
@@thetexastrucker7934 With my company I run pretty much the same lanes and same customers,I really only use my GPS for traffic and lane closure purposes, unless I go to a new location I'll map her out and check my restrictions and bridges and use Google maps to see what the place looks like and to determine what driveway may be best and which direction,it also doesn't hurt to contact them if available
I use hammer app.
Just use truckers path lol
Really, a failure at trucking giving advice on trip planning and trucking. I wonder how the pre GPS truckers survived without your knowledge.
