Obviously Audrey is impeccable in everything she does, but can we take a minute to also appreciate Kaye Thompson?? What a talent!!!
Ikr! And what balance on heels. When her and Astaire are in the hippy den later in the movie she's flying around on the same heels I believe
I know right? Kay should've got an Oscar nomination for her wonderful performance in this film.
Not to mention she wrote the Eloise books we old-timers loved so much when we were children.
Yes!!! The FABULOUS Kay Thompson!
nailed!!!
A charming scene,-- but also an extremely ironic one. Audrey Hepburn needed to be taught "how to be lovely" about as much as Niagara Falls needs to be taught "how to be wet".
Love this comment!
It's called acting for a reason.
+Thomas DiMaggio This is a movie, isn’t it? The last time I checked, it’s _Funny Face._
@@cance7984 It was tongue-in-cheek, friend (: the person above was just paying respects to Audrey, who truly deserves it
+Britischen Adligen Now I understand. Thanks.
Kaye Thompson can never be praised enough. What an extraordinary talent.
Audrey literally shines in each and every scenes that she appeares. She has an inexplicable charm and appeal that just draws people in. Beautiful both inside and out, she is a stellar model of elegance and grace.
Before 'America's Next Supermodel', there was 'Funny Face'. If I hear Hollywood trying to remake this classic, I do not know what I will do.
we'll kill em together. 😐
i'm with you both. i just heard they were remaking my fair lady and i'm really upset tbh
Idk how i feel about remakes. The idea of making a remake/reboot comes off as “the original is outdated now” but i feel like people should go back instead. Certain films, and especially the songs, are timeless. Though on the flipside, I guess people will never forget the original. For example, I believe they could make a decent remake of back to the future but that doesn’t mean the OG loses its value.
devil wears prada..
I wouldn’t mind if they remade this. I feel this film suffers because Audrey simply doesn’t have the popes and there’s nothing funny about her face. Then there’s the age difference between her and Astaire... that being said she still has this ineffable charm and presence that despite all those faults really makes up for them. I love the beatnik dance! She looked so joyous. I could totally see Sutton Foster in this role.
Her smile is so lovely...I will never get bored of that face! Absolutely STUNNING!
Truly breathtaking, and the gowns are incredible
“Let joy be monumental!” We love and miss Audrey Hepburn! Earth angel!
She’s gorgeous
audrey is so precious
This is a great upbeat song! Bet the majority of people would never guess that this was actually Audrey singing!
She did an outstanding job!
She also had the perfect voice for "How Long Has This Been Going On" and in Breakfast At Tiffany's "Moon River". She had a soft and lovely voice that didn't work for My Fair Lady, but here it works.
Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe -two icons who will NEVER be equaled in films by ANYONE.
Well I think Marilyn Monroe will be. I think she was quite limited as an actor. But Audrey Hepburn however, absolutely fantastic and no one can match her
@@bentonxavier5094 can't agree more!!!
@@bentonxavier5094 I think she had a lot of potential that she unfortunately never got to prove because of her life being cut short and also always being cast in the “dumb blonde” roles, when she was so much more than that
and they also share their love of Richard Avedon's portraits of them
One of the best scenes of the movie🥰!!!
Everything is just charming beyond description. I have to confess a special weakness for their singing and movements doing the "Doo Wee Ooh's."
Audrey Hepburn the most beautiful ❤️
Kay upstaged the whole cast! They are all great, but her voice, movements and charisma present the pinnacle of early tv musicals.
Yeah, and that's saying something considering she was in the same movie as Astaire and Audrey, but everything she does here is so on point that sometimes we even forget that Audrey is the lead lady.
Audrey is so beautiful in this scene! She's shining
I can only see Kay thompson I wish she had made more films , she coached Garland and Minelli and many Hollywood stars in movement and song and mostly stayed out of the spotlight herself.
This movie was huge part of my childhood and I'm pretty sure this scene is the reason I could turn anything into a new outfit or costume
aah, just like me, i wish people in my college were like this. this is the true feeling of lovely in the graceful 1950s.
It always makes me sad to know that Audrey did not consider herself a great actress and that she always praised others. She is so amazing
OMG. . . Kay Thompson. . .
the most charming scene! always puts a smile on my face :-)
This is so adorable!!!!
2:05 "Make Sorrow incidental. Let Joy be monumental.. And you'll be lovely..." ❤
I adore her face, her body, her voice, her smile. I adore everything about her
She is Diva iconic Beautiful and cute
Nothing spells " grace" like Audrey ! 😍 😍
One of my favorite Audrey Hepburn films ❤️!
Love & Peace.❤️
Audrey is beautiful woman!
This is two women singing and dancing a duet which isn’t about men in the 1950s. This so rare!! Also they kill it!! Perfection.
There are some scenes in this movie, where Audrey is so Beautiful, that you just know, that she was something Special.
I love this song from the magical classy movie" Funny Face, " one of my favourite movies and song " how to be lovely "this is a real feel good song if you are ever down and feeling lost and not confident in yourself this really help you along, the two Amazing Hollywood icon performers Miss Audrey Hepburn and Miss Kay Thompson blend naturally such great performances bravo.
Charming, funny and I can't help but think of Lucy and Ethel when I see this scene. Silly.
Is there anything more to say?the lovelier being ever💙

Man, BEAUTIFUL uploads!! 😀
Is it weird that I’m a 13 year old in 2020 and love this song and Audrey ? 🖤
I think it means there is hope for the future.
That's the magic of Audrey Hepburn, Kid.
not at all we're the same age
Absolutely not, do not even think that, Miss Audrey Hepburn was beautiful in every sense of the way and the movie " Funny Face" is one of my favourites, it had OUTSTANDING performances from the leading iconic Hollywood superstars and supporting cast , stunning music and dance beautiful scenery and the movie had such class like the icon herself Miss Audrey Hepburn, Miss Audrey Hepburn would have been very proud and would have loved to have heard that you love the song and her, I know this as I had the opportunity to Correspond with the icon Hollywood Superstar and She was so down to earth, she truly was a gift from God to the whole world, an Angel and still an angel. I still miss her very much she will Always be REMEMBERED, NEVER FORGOTTEN.
Not at all, go enjoy her other films too !
simplesmente lindo!!!
Could you imagine the a scene sweetest than this??????
Moon River scene from "Breakfast at Tiffany's", that scene melts my heart and me fall in love with Audrey everytime.
The most Audrey Hepburn of all Audrey Hepburn films
Yes, some people think Audrey was like Holly Golightly, but in fact she was much much more like Jo, she believed in dancing for the sake of happiness, she loved to read, she didn't believe she was really as beautiful as people said (which is sad really, she was very insecure), she was shy and all she ever wanted was to be loved.
A person like me (as a doomed con man) should be crazy for Noir genre in cinema. Maybe I had (and still have) the most horrific life's..... But for me, the musicals, is the first favorite between the movies type, just because of I have and had the extremely bitter "life".
Loved Kay Thompson! Little known fact, that her and Fred Astaire did not get along while making this. There's a dance routine with both Kay and Fred, where he's on the ground spinning around dancing his ass off, yet you can't take your eyes off of Thompson. He wasn't used to someone else stealing focus from him, and Kay Thompson could. He didn't like that.
beautiful.....
you are right, there is a fascination about caravans and shows before or after events, I personally loved to read about Grace Kelly's wedding and how she went on a ship to meet her husband in Monacco and Quit acting in Hollywood, it was nice to see her became a princess on the spot too.
This is one of 3 songs in the film but not written by the Gershwin's. Bonjour Paris!, Think Pink and On How To Be Lovely were written by Roger Edens and Leonard Gershe (lyrics).
Perfect fore her not so high voice. She could sing far better the people expected. If my fare lady was in a lower key she would have managed the singing part very well.
Thee kate Thompson the true reason most girls in the 40s and 50s knew how to keeo a beat and make it camp and elegant.
He outlive Audrey Hepburn
And he died at age of 89
Judy Garland should have played the role which Audrey Hepburn actually played if she had been a bit younger. The combination of Judy and Kay Thompson must have been amazing

Hope you enjoy more, finishing off Breakfast at Tiffany's and then I'm thinking about doing My Fair Lady or Sabrina. Thanks again!

Audrey Hepburn is Top model Guru ever. See t funny face film.
オードリーのチャーミングさが素晴らしい。
Most beautiful woman of her time
of all times really.
legend...
Audrey. 😍
great
You can see in this part that if the song was more sutable for an alto voice like Audrey's she could sing exelently
"A delightful je ne sais quoi there is... in all her mannerisms and movement."
This scene defines Audrey Hepburn

Oh wow! lol i actually came here to celebrate Kaye Thompson but i see that i’m late to the party! .. Guess i still need to say it .. i’ve watched this film a lot over the years but my focus was always on Audrey. Maybe it took my getting older to truly realize what an _AMAZING_ _TALENT_ Kaye Thompson was! She was the perfect _triple threat,_ great singer dancer actress - great *GREAT* GREAT! Now that i’ve appreciated that, back to my #1 question .. are we _really_ expected
to believe that Jo found Dick like, _IRRESISTIBLE?!_ When i was a kid i thought that Fred Astaire looked like a skeleton with skin stretched tightly across. i mean, brilliant dancing can only make up for so much! Sorry. .. Just LOADS of talent in this movie! 🤟🏼💞
دریغ و افسوس از دیگر نبود چنین هنرمندانی در این سیاره ی آشفته و مملو از فاجعه
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I watched this and my first thought was, "Audrey would make a good Lucy. . ." She'd be a pretty Lucy. And plus her face looks similar enough to Lucile Ball . . . she just might pull it off . . .
Die Beiden sind fast so gut wie Bugs Bunny und der Daffy Duck.😁
dam.....each take is unbelievably long...she must really like her job :)

She could sing very well. This was perfect for her somewhat lower voice. When they turned down May Fair Lady she could have done that without Marni Nixon.
Audrey is an icon and one of my favorite performers, but Julie Andrews should have played Eliza Doolittle and much of that score is outside of Audrey's range. I still her love her in the film though.
@@julescat1974 I adore Julie Andrews as a singer and as a person but if I am honest not so much as an actress. Their Adrey Hepburn was the better choice for me.
@@julescat1974 She later did in Theatre. But at the time she wasn't nearly experienced enough as an actress to play Eliza Doolittle who is a fairly complex character in general. You also have to take into account she had only done 1 film at stage which was The Sound of Music.
Audrey should have sang in My Fair Lady
This should be shown for children in schools. Especially for girls.
Is that Audrey Hepburn's real voice?
Adrian Cooke Yes, it is.

I just realized why Gal Gadot is so "familiar" to me. She has the same variety of ethereal beauty, unmistakable class, and waif-like visage that Audrey Hepburn did.
I don't know why, but Audrey Hepburn gives me Daisy Ridley vibes and I can't shake it
You mean the other way round.
@@taliamason7986 No, no, I mean what I said... maybe
So very mannered. Utterly dated and cheezy. Hepburn made a poor choice with this geriatric vehicle.
Um which of them seems to know how to sing. And for a "ballerina" Audrey is about as graceful as a potted plant.
Sorry folks but I absolutely hate this scene.Actually, most of the film gives me the creeps. I’m sure most men feel the same way.Audrey is
far too fey in this one,Fred too old and crusty and Kay Thompson has me running to the bathroom. The dark-room scene nearly blinds me
and the final “S’wonderful” scene is painfully identical to “He Loves And She Loves”.It’s buried at the bottom of my collection.
is that a man dressed in drag dancing with her?
That's very rude.
