- Tensions between the European Union and the United states are reaching a boiling point, especially following president Trump's threats of tariffs on European goods. In response, EU leaders have issued a clear message: the bloc will not back down from unfair treatment. With the U.S. demanding more from its allies while appearing to turn inward, the future of transatlantic relations hangs in the balance. EU expert Piotr Maciej Kaczyński from the Warsaw-based Geremek Foundation joined TVP World to dive into what this means for the EU’s strategy.

Time for EU to develop its own military industrial complex through common projects... instead of every nation competing against each other.
He's not bluffing!!!!
Nope, not bluffing… Actually that stupid!)
The epitome of low resolution thinking, thank you.
We need an update on 🇷🇴elections
Wise man
be funny if Canada increases critical mineral resource exports to EU nations so it can build up its arms industry ad increase jobs for Canada and EU
this is what we all need to do
is usa that ally?
MAKE OURSELVES GREAT AGAIN
This America Alone policy is just for four years, after that we will ... elect JD Vance.
You know what, skip what I just said and brace for a rough adjustment period.
Imagining that there is some hidden agenda behind Trumps rhetoric is a little dangerous. You run into the possibility that it was just something said to him by a billionaire (people he admires) and taken to heart.
It's not that sophisticated, he's driven by attention and has very little attention(span) of his own.
Quite an intelligent guest
🤫 don’t tell anyone 🤭
As a Canadian I am perplexed and questioning the value of the deal struck between the US and Canada, because Trudeau shut down our Parliament by proroguing it, then he resigned shortly after from his position as Prime Minister. Trudeau no longer has the authority to conclude treaties or carry out negotiations on behalf of Canada, which for the present has no Federal Gov't. Only the Provincial Governments can now negotiate for arrangements with the USA.
long on rhetoric way short on facts dude, did you cut Canadian civics class in high school because nothing you said is accurate.
Since all of the 'concessions' to Trump were things already being planned by Canada ... ya kinda gotta wonder if Trump knew anything about Canada's recent upheaval.
Neither Canada nor Mexico have given Trump anything that was not already planned.
He is just an orange bladder blowing hot air.
And they believed in him, not listening to what was between the lines.
By electing Trump you also proved that you dont care about law and order.
I love to hear Trump voters whine about the things that they didn't believe he would actually do. "They deported my wife" "My school is about to close ". Yada yada yada
is it our fault that we make the best military weapons? The EU has stopped innovating because of over-regulation, so don't blame us.
The US has been innovating but also strong-arming NATO to buy US technology which has suppressed EU weapons innovation.
Its not exactly tru.
Name something?
Except for stealth Sweden makes better aircraft than F35. (who needs stealth anyway)
There is nothing Europe, South Korea etc could not make just as good. Some things we dont make - yet.
Our governments have not done a good job when they purchased weaponry.
.
Btw. Lack of regulation is about to destroy whats left of your democracy
EU has lots of quality equipments, sometimes surpassing the ones from the US... and they usually manage to achieve this with less money.
Now... if those European defence contractors were to work together on common projects... and if EU nations were to buy & produce those equipments together, I'm pretty sure they'd eventually surpass the US in many fields.
Innovating? even the airforce didn't want the AIM 9 program derivatives till they catch up with EUs ASRAAM, literally every major nation has a better long range missile than the AIM-120 (you think F/A-18s strapped on SM-6 upper-stage for funsies?) and America has fallen behind on artillery systems (M777 39 caliber barrel and lack of mobility has made it the most vulnerable artillery piece in Ukraine). Patting ourselves on the backs too much makes us fall behind.
