+Project Mobius It's because in game Alonso is much better in qualifying and thus doesn't get stuck behind slower cars in races.
You can pit when the pit icon turns Green!That is when you get the crew ready for a pitWhen it is Orange/yellow you are supposed to pit next lap BUT if you keep pressing the pit request button when its green so you pretty much tell them that you will not pit!

btw you can see that your crew is ready by the sign next to the fuel if its orange it means 1 more lap for your stop or you should stop soon green means your crew is ready THIS LAP

No that's not the reason. He came in one lap after he was supposed to and when he came in, he didn't alert his pit crew that he was coming in. That one symbol on the bottom left tells you if you can come in. If it's green they are ready, if it's orange, it is suggested that he should come in. He still needs to confirm it though (with Select I think)

speeding into the pits causes the pit crew to not come out, watch for the red ! mark. You had this problem in a previous round if I recall correctly
Everyone saying he didn't get serviced because he sped in has never played this game before, because that claim is BULLSHIT. I've sped into the pits at Canada NUMEROUS times on this game, and I've been serviced every single time. The problem is, Ben forgot one thing: If your pitstop is on Lap 7, you have to come in on Lap 7, otherwise your pitcrew will un-ready themselves. There is a way to circumvent this: You can manually request a pitstop with the Select button, that way you can pit in whenever you'd like. However, Ben didn't know that, and it came back to bite him in the ass.

Firstly you were going too fast into the pits and secondly press select to call for a pitstop and the indicator turns green
If I remember correctly the pit stop won´t happen when you press the select button when it´s your actuall pit window. It´s like you´d say "No, not this Lap" by pressing it. So no Pit Stop for you
no, he got like an immedeately drive through because he drove in to the pits full nuts but you have to brake yourself before the line. just like f1 2010 but you don't have to press a button for the speed limiter

+StefTheBeast2001 not true, if its your pit stop and you press select then it cancels your stop. if youd played the game youd know speeding into the pits doesnt matter.

You weren't being penalized for avoiding the crash, you were penalized for going off the track. At that speed, you were cutting it no matter what!

On the warm up lap, you can get the tires up to 90. And that makes a good difference on the race, specially on the start. Just slow down as much as you can as the cars open a gap from you, then you accelerate as much as you can, steering as much as you can, and when you reach the corner you hammer the brakes, steering as much as you can. Do it for the entire warm up lap and you'll get the tires in a good temperature. It always worked for me.
Hard game. One time i was in qualifying in a mclaren then just up the road michael schumacher hit a toyota both cars spun round on the track and i smashed into them casuing a pile up!!! Tough game but very rewarding when it all goes right

I think you need to come in the exact lap they tell you too, otherwise no serivce. If I vaguely remember correctly they older games were very strict about that, which sometimes causes great misfortune.

Hi Ben, for F1 2006, you have to follow your scheduled pits top or they won't service you. A lap earlier or later try would not come out. Hope this helps;)

You missed your planned stop by a lap, the garage icon is green when you are OK to pit. And warm up your tyres more on the parade lap, get them to 90 or above, they will drop but only to about 60-70 and you will get a much better start.
Request pit is when you have unscheduled stop.

Haha, I remember this happening to me too on this game because I'd bomb it into the pits as well. Eventually I slowed down and the pit crew was there but it's a little bit of an annoying bug.
if you press "select" although you are in your pit stop lap you reject your stop.
and you lagged because you were way too fast in the pit entry :D
This is a spectacular series, codemasters should use this game as an example...

Ben. You have to remember to use your formation lap. speed up and break continuosly to warm up your breaks and tires :) you will have a much better first lap :)

When theres a red and yellow flag I usually stay and couple of inches away from the racing line to avoid the oil slick, and also did you know theres another way to adjust Traction control and Brake Bias without going into the garage or pausing the game to change the settings. Loving this series tho
the pitstoplag occured because you drove into the pits to fast. this does cost you time too. also, make sure you check your pitstopindicator halfway through the lap you want to stop. make sure its green, if not, press select ;)
When the garage emblem is green that's the lap you need to go. You just missed your pit lap.
in formation lap you should press the acceleration and brake button together. will lock up the fronts and heat them (as far as i can remember when i played the game). give it a try :) to heat up the rears just do burnouts

if this little house thingy in the bottom left flashes green it is your scheduled (or requested) pitstop and your pit crew is ready for you. So apparently you should have come in on lap 8.
If you request a pitstop your engineer usually confirms it and the orange light on that house thingy starts flashing green. (at least if i remember correctly, it has been a while since i played the game)
also, i doubt it makes a difference if you "speed" into the pitlane or not.

The little pit stop icon must be green if you want to see people in your pit spot. Check this every time you want to pit!

You need to pit when the small garage in the left side is green. that's why the pit crew didn't come out
The pit crew didn't show up because you have to have a green pit request. Both times when you entered the pits, the request was orange. There is a button for pitting, but I don't remember which one exactly.
when you request a pit stop you have to wait until they accept the request. yes it's a little stupid but the game works in that way. by the way, try to set the car in configuration from balance to speed. you'll be able to reach the 200 mph

You have to slow down before you enter the pit lane, there wasn't autobrake in this game as in the codemasters ones.
i dont think you coming into the pits too fast let you down, i do it all the time and it doesnt seem to be an issue. the select does select a pitstop, however it does de-select it too, so it maybe that you nde-selected a pitstop so when you came in the game registered that it wasnt for a pitstop. on this game you almost a have a pit windows for your pitstop lap and one after where it will just automatically service you, either side of this you have to select it youself

+Aggro Bernd Even on the PS2 version, I've done that, it reset me, and I still got serviced as normal. The problem is, Ben came in too late, and the pit crew wasn't ready for him anymore. The only way to fix that is to manually request a pitstop by pressing Select.

The lap you say you will come in is the only time they will service you, one lap Earlier or Later they won't service you, cost me a win in a Super Aguri in Monaco with everything turned off

You had to break before you entered the Pit Lane because the Game will reset you when you are to fast (this will happen again at in Indianapolis, Sao Paulo and Monza when i´ll remember it correctly)
Ben your formation laps hurt me. Plz burnout S and lockups till they're all at 99 heat. Remember it's virtually impossible to wear the tires on the formation lap due to the low speeds and also because tire wear is scaled to the race distance
You should slow down into the pit.And be careful in Indianapolis because the AI will be fast if i remember well.(I played with this game maybe in 2007 or 2008 i believe)
