This is exactly what i love about jazz. When you look at this stage you don't see a drummer, a bassist, and a pianist. You see three musicians. Three musicians who do what they do, simply because they love doing it. They're interacting with each other, listening to each other. They don't just play what they came to play then walk right off the stage without even looking at each other. In a jazz band, you'll rarely see the drummer placed in the back, but on the side, because jazz is an improvised style, and you have to interact, give each other cues, or maybe just make weird faces to creep each other out. But no matter what, you have to be into the music.
What a GENIUS he was! And what a GENEROUS man, to share his amazing music with the rest of us. I think the one that enjoyed Chic's music more than anyone is Chic Corea (Armando Antonio!) himself. In this piece, I love how he invited the audience to sing the chord, note for note, and in perfect harmony. And then they sang the entire melody of the chorus, while Chic just listened, smiling like the Cheshire Cat. Can't get enough of this music ....
really like how brian blade can breath new life into any song, avoids clichés and showing off. It's all about the music, sound, feel, touch, plays sentences, not paragraphs... inspiring...
Wow this has gotta be the best audience I've ever seen. Next time someone asks me for an example of an audience that's really really into it, I'll show them this.
this is the natural sound of the historic Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, just as the audience heard it. We are spoiled with live videos augmented with unrealistic, near-studio sound from the FOH sound console. This is how the audience actually hears the concerts: no more, no less.
@@JazzRuMagazineVideoChannel I have been to several concerts and heard the "natural sound" through my own ears and compared them to an audio captured on the phone, I assure you the former is a much better experience and somewhat better equipment than a single phone mic is necessary to capture the natural sound.
@@ayushbasu82 thank you Captain Obvious! Of course we have never heard before about the difference between the live binaural sound and its rendition on a single pair of XY-oriented condenser mics. By "natural sound" we mean "as natural as it gets, regarding the technical limitations." And no, this was not recorded on a phone.
I love it when the spirit takes hold of Brian and he just sorta spazzes out! I think he moves his body more than most drummers, and to me it speaks of his deeply rooted and finely honed musicality as well as his ability to get out of his own way, if you know what I mean.
Recuerdo inborrable
Amazing!!!! And the "choral version" is also amazing; something it can happens just with an European audience I believe: Chick tried to do something like that here in Salt Lake City last month (with the Elektric Band) and it didn't sound not even close like in this video!!! :-)
Blade has full command of actual syncopated melodies; joyfully & cleverly mutating these three individuals into one beautiful cyborg while cascading from His drum.
add "in a classical concert hall environment" for more precision. In rap or rock, we cannot even start describing what they wear onstage (and in pop music, sometimes even what they DON"T wear.)
when I listen I can't even see what any are wearing... don't see how it matters? be comfortable... what about the color of the skin? or the color of their eyes? why should you feel like you need a dress code. people need to be comfortable... besides the way they play its like a volley in a tennis match! aahahahah! peace.

Why drums did not play drum solo ?
Who is the bassist??
Eddie Gomez
Only the jazz world would allow you to perform in tennis shoes

Why is the audience
@@jeremiaoktavian5971 this one is the easiest to answer: because they paid their money to be there. (Seemingly, unlike the one we reply to.)
Papagaiada Intro.
