IMAX B6 charger - fake Vs genuine - Visual comparison

Hello everybody, I've recently start experimenting with Li-Po batteries; therefore I decided to buy a IMAX B6 type battery charger. Unfortunately I haven't pay enought attention when I purchased it, and I catch a fake unit...

Hello, fake and real tabs are visible for all the video duration if you watch it on a PC; unfortunately in many portable devices the comments are not visible at all. Let me say that music is a matter of personal taste; someone liked it and someone did not..

actually not fake, just comparing a branded one that has been commissioned to be built to a slightly different standard by the company with a unbranded one. Both made in China and I suspect out of the same factory

Mine has no hologram, I got it late 2015, but it does say SkyRC on bootup. Other than that it matches many of the signs of a fake one so ??????

What I can say is that the SkyRC iMAX B6 in the video has been purchased in 2015 from one of the SkyRC authorized dealers; as you can see there are many differences compared with the fake unit. Anyway they both performs good.
About yours, you may try to open it and check if there are marking on the PCB inside.

Hello, I don't think they are made in the same factory. The fake one is a clone of the SkyRC made by someone else. They are very similar but not identical eg. 1) the metal enclosure is slightly different that means is not coming out from the same mould - 2) the connectors are nickel plated on the fake one while are gold plated on the SKYRC, etc.
I think there is no reason why SKYRC should sell his products without logo.

Yes, they are both made in China but the quality of the original one seems to be better (eg. contacts are gold plated instead of nickel plated). About the performances, I haven't had the time to test the accuracy of voltage measuring especially when balancing a battery pack; as soon as I will do that I will post the results.

If you consider a copy to be a fake then both of them are fakes due to being copies of the 6 year old Dynam Supermate DC6.

I just purchased a “ genuine “ imax b6 charger and it poorly calibrated. Doesn’t come close to balancing the charge or full charge. So there’s no point wasting money on the real thing. You should avoid these chargers altogether.

Aha, a fake unit, on the other hand you can buy 15 different brand name chargers and inside its the exact same charger, so fake or not fake same e same.

I do not really understand what you mean. SKYRC is still manufacturing and selling iMAX B6 type charger (www.skyrc.com/iMAX_B6_Charger) with P/N: SK-100002. This one is exactly the same you have seen in the video. Please double check your info's.
