Jamie Hector's portrayal of Marlo Stanfield on "The Wire" was one of the most menacing and unsettling performances I've ever seen. Absolutely tremendous actor. Jon Bernthal is phenomenal as well. Count me in to watch this series.

It’s a running theme of works by David Simon and it’s one I agree with, the War on Drugs failed, and it failed spectacularly. One unforeseen consequence of that domestic policy was the effect that policy had on our police force. Our police started having a kind set of an occupying army as opposed to being neighborhood cops. The War On Drugs stripped away the ability of police to build cases with probable cause because the standard for probable cause was lowered to the point of almost non-existence. We destroyed our police force and reinvented them as a semi-military branch of the DoD whose purpose was occupation and pacification.

This was a phenomenal performance by Jamie Hector as Sean Suiter. What a complicated and sad situation. Jon Bernthal did the amazing job as well of portraying a completely narcissistic and disgruntled cop who was able to charismatically pull in his other cop “brother’s” such harm to a city that’s struggled since I’ve known it. Seeing Duquan “Dukie” Weems all grown and handsome oddly enough gave me tears. That’s how much this direction and production goes to humanizing these characters. It would have been fun to see Bunk slide in for a hot minute with his cigar.

As a native Baltimorean who is familiar with not the guys who "play" these people in the series but the ACTUAL people... the reliving of these instances makes you very angry. I knew a few people who were in direct dealings with these officers and because you guys are seeing it on tv it won't have the same feeling as it would for the ACTUAL people who experienced these events in real life. Just think.. Hollywood fixed it up to look more compelling but there are some stories that they just don't have the time to tell. I guess what I am trying to say or I want people to know is that when you watch the show.. watch it from the scope of it happening to someone you know or love.. and watch it like you are seeing it IN PERSON with your own 2 eyes. Sad and unfortunate but GTTF is the top of the mountain that is above the earth. Let that part sink in... Stay blessed yall ✌🏿😎

I just binge watched it. When I know something is real I always look at it from the point of view of the victims. Also considering that it is only a few episodes I had to assume that there are many many more f@cked up stories out there. Some only the victims know. It is sad to think about - it's like you are all being occupied by enemy militants. I am still hoping that the citizens if the city can unite and fight the injustice and make life better for your children.✊🏽

A phenomenal series. Both Bernthal and Hector are fantastic. But the best scenes were where Treat Williams educates Wunmi Mosaku on just how F-ed the system and the “War on Drugs” has become. Truly eye opening stuff, especially for those who only know of this world from their couch, but also for those who already realize that “War” has done far more damage to society than the drugs and crime it tries to curtail. Do yourself a favor and watch the series - it’s just 6 episodes.

For some reason the horrible attempt at the accent is a turnoff.
I had the same issue with The Wire. There's just something about people "trying" to sound like they're from Baltimore that's distracting. I've lived in Baltimore my entire life almost 50 years and I've never met anyone that sounds like this guy.

I feel the same, if you're talking about Jon Bethernal's Baltimore Accent then I agree. All these social media people talking about he nailed the Baltimore Accent. Really? He might say one or two words almost similar but he sounds nothing like a native Black or White Baltimorean. They say the same about John Travolta in Hairspray and Oprah Winfrey just pumped his head up about his so called Baltimore Accent

The Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary in the form of a man, with glad tidings of a child who was to be born miraculously without a father.
“Then We sent to her Our spirit (angel Gabriel), and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects. She said: ‘Surely I seek refuge from you with the Most Beneficent (God) if you do fear God.’ He said: ‘I am only a messenger of your Lord: to announce to you the gift of a righteous son.’ She said: ‘How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?’ He said, ‘Thus [it will be]’. Your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.’” Qur’an 19:17-21
Some claim that his miraculous birth is evidence of Jesus’ divinity. However, Jesus was not the first to come into existence without a father, as Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) before him had neither a father nor mother. God says:
“The likeness of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: ‘Be’, and he was. This is the truth from your Lord, so be not of the disputes.” Qur’an 3:59-60

Islam is a monotheistic religion, i.e. belief in only one God. Allah is that Supreme Being who has always existed and will always remain. Allah is the creator of the entire universe and all its contents. Allah is the creator of man, animals, etc. Allah is the Creator, Nourisher, Sustainer, Provider, gives life and death, sustenance and rain, etc. Allah chose various men among His creation for the guidance of mankind whom are called prophets or Divine messengers, from Adam to Jesus to Mohammed (peace be upon them all). Muslims believe that Mohammed (peace be upon him) is the final messenger of Allah, and the final Divine book which was revealed to him is called the Qur’aan which Muslims read and follow. This Divine book is in the Arabic language._______________________
