- True Fact! In Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai, there is the Fastest Elevator in The World!!!
It climbs 123 Floors in just 60 seconds!!!
It's also the tallest elevator in a building even if no elevators are installed to travel all 163 floors of Burj Khalifa. Instead, they are strategically grouped to align with the floor layout, offering passengers a direct express service to their destination by bypassing other floors.
All elevators have been supplied and installed by global elevator leader Otis.

Guangzhou CTF Finance Center however, has a default speed of 20m/s for their observation deck Elevators, but in 2017 after some modifications they reached a maximum speed of 21m/s.
The Elevator in Taipe 101 is faster. 80 Floors in 30 sec. The Burj Ele. makes in 30 sec. 60 Floors.

Taipei 101 take 30 secs to get to 390m, 1 minute 780m, 780X60=46800, 46.8km/h
Burj Khalifa takes 60 secs to get to 580m (123floor), 580X60= 34.800 34.8km/h

Lets view it in a different way. Dubai Tower is 800m tall. And now we take off the top point which is about 700m. To this scale 124th floor is about 580 m. Dubai Tower is Office and Hotel combined, so its celling is about 4 m and 0.5m as the thickness of the cell. This make 1 floor 4.5 meter tall. Now we take 4.5 X124= 558. Still close enough....

Taipei 101 (Toshiba) was the fastest from 2004 to 2009. In 2009 the record was broke by Burj Khalifa, so Taipei 101's elevators currently stands as the second fastest in the world.
That’s not true. It was 2004-2015 this elevator is 600 m/min while the Taipei 101 is 1010 m/min

This has got to be the limit of how high an elevator can go. Imagine the sheer weight of the cables alone, not to mention that the cables can sway and cause problems.
