    I like this, but I think using the design language of current-day manufacturers to modernize old cars would be better than just grabbing a picture and just darkening it/ removing features.
    Cars today tend to have more sharp edges while still being areodynamic, this video (and some other ones) do not show that innovation, and are not doing anything with the new design.
    Still love the content though, keep it up

    Your design are all great, no problem with that. But everytime I watch your "redesign" to my eyes there all look like simple body kit. For this chevrolet as example, you keep the basic shape and so it mostly look like a custom build made in 2019 from the 1952 car, not a "what if it was produce today".

    • @kayleb1109
      @kayleb1109 5 лет назад +2

      This video was a flop, I agree, but the Honda S2000 redesign is far more than just a body kit, if that doesn't please you, I'm not sure what will

  • @gdgddavid
    @gdgddavid 5 лет назад +11

    I would like to give some constructive criticism for your channel.
    Maybe I'm missing your point about re-designing, but the way I look at it, a re design is to try to get the essence of the car and make something far better than the original (something that doesn't look kind of the same with modern wheels) or if you want to modernize it, then take that same concept and make something that really would work in this era or a future one. Asides from that, I really appreciate the work you put into this channel and the stunning style that you have into sketching.

  • @corytc5095
    @corytc5095 5 лет назад +90

    Man I love these videos, but these are starting to look a bit lazy. This car looks almost exactly the same as before but a different color? Never would be "built today" like that. Still love the channel though bro

    • @enki2450
      @enki2450 5 лет назад +18

      I agree, not just with this one but with the couple of ones before. He makes it like someone had tuned it, put some fancy wheels, darkened windows and lowered it. He actually should study the cars design language and make it from scratch and apply the specifics of car brands. This "redesign" isn't something anyone would make today, just looks like someone modded it.

    I agree with you that the 1960s is the golden decade of car design. Not as flamboyant as the 1950s, but still very free and open to new ideas. Very refined. Very defined. Special standouts for me are the 1966 Cadillac, the 1966 Oldsmobile Tornado and the 1965.5 Ford Mustang. Honorable mention goes to the heart-stoppingly beautiful 1966 Buick Riviera.

    Beautiful job! You are a master of light and dark indeed. One thing: The front sorely needs to be extended in a bumper shape, as the chin spoiler detracts from the looks. A bumper-like extension would make it look sleeker by breaking up the vertical, not to mention adding safety in the event of a frontal collision.

    1959, Ford with the Galaxie and Ranchero, Pontiac with the Bonneville (personal favourite), Cadillac Deville and the Chevy Biscayne, Bel Air and Impala all used the same windshield and essentially played a game of who did it better? Around said windshield and each of those cars are incredibly unique, Ford had a star filled grille and oddly shaped fins, Pontiac had 4 fins on the back and had a car that could go toe to toe with the Coupe De Ville in a game of mines bigger than yours, the De Ville was one of the most elegantly styled cars ever produced, and Chevy had sideways fins while everyone else was up or diagnolly outward away from the car

BUT. Saying that how this car would be built today does hint more to a redesign and the end result is something you would never see today. I would just say restomod in your thumbnail and title if you arent gonna do an actual take on what it would look like today.

    I think these edits are really cool, but I want to see you actually re-imagine a car that could be sold today. Because this is just an old Chevy with some new body lines and trim. It’s more of a resto-mod than a new car.

    For me the best decade if car fesign must be the last 15 years, mainly due to cars like the 2013 AMG C63 and all of the newer WRX STis

    I can't decide 30's for Cars late 40's to mid 50's for trucks, with the exception of the 1974 camaro..
