You’re the Master, how you squeeze so much onto a hook is beyond my comprehension. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent Davie, I tried (to tie) a few of these for Loch Leven just a few weeks ago, which didn't go quite as planned, you've put me right on a few things!

Cracking little fly Davie, I'll be sure to tie a few of these and try them for the sea trout.
By the way, what is the acoustic guitar track playing in the intro and end of your video? It's real nice.

    Hi Davie,
Well Im still in hospital and in fair bit of pain but to keep me occupied and to try and take my mind of the pain I have spent a small fortune buying yet more materials to tie more of your videos. I think I probably have nearly everything for all of them haha but definately I have everything I need for the videos I have saved to go in my project box Im doing once I am well enough to start tying again. Anyway to the point :)... I have bought Gordon Griffiths Golden Pheasant Head Complete Grade 1 in natural and some fluorescent yellow silver creek dye to get the material needed for this and a few other video's of yours where you use the flou yellow crest and tippet. Could you give me any pointers on dying it. I have watched you dieing the hackle feather sunburst so if I just follow that video but obviously just with the yellow dye and white vinegar will that be ok ? How long will I need to simmer the the complete head for ? And do I put the vinegar in straight away or when Im happy with the colour ?
Any advice would be great. Very much looking forward to getting back to my vice.
    Many thanks
    Gareth

      Hi Gareth,
I hope you will be up and back to normal very soon which I'm sure you will...Just dye the crest as I did with the hackles in the video but with every dyeing process you must watch to see how well the dye is doing though crests take the dye very well so you shouldn't have any problems..
      All the very best Davie..

Thanks Davie you are a star
Im home now and on plenty of pain killers so might even have a go at a fly or two tonight :). I have a cape I hate the colour of and have bought some fiery brown die for so I may have a little go with that tonight before my crest and die turn up. I have bought a complete lady amehurst cape Im going to dye flou yellow as well I.should have some cracking tippets to do some pennel variants and such. Nothing keeps me down for long and staples in my stomach and a missing gallbladder wont stop me ! Thanks again for the help and your awesome videos

this fly worked really well in the river last season for seatrout,my nephew tried it one night when nothing else was working and it did the job well, for long shank variety would you still use the blue jay ie. a hair wing version and also would you leave out the tail?

      Hi ERIC LONG,
The Watson's Bumble is a excellent fly and it's great to hear that you gave it a go and that it proved to be a success. I would try and use the blue jay but if you find it too short then a good sub would be dyed blue guinea fowl, I'd tye some with the tail and some without as I'm sure it would still fish well...I hope you have a great season...
      All the very best Davie

I love this fly and have no idea if it would catch here, but I cannot get the European Jay feathers. The links you give me won't ship to the US so I can't get it there. All the best and thanks. I am going to try it with jumbo guinea feathers. What do you think? Sean
