Great video - as someone also looking at downsizing I appreciate your viewpoint and completely agree! I've always been a believer in having a smaller, more curated collection, but even then some of those titles I have aren't getting played!
Randomly got this in my recommendations 2 years later lolol, but you seem like a chill dude so I subbed :) I've never really had the issue of having to downsize my collection before, mainly because I'm pretty picky with what games I do and don't buy haha. I only really buy stuff I know I want, so I rarely end up selling stuff off.
Its just a really important to downsize your collection at some point. I had the same feeling as you, a year ago I had roundabout 500 Games and know ca 300 and feels so much better, because you just look at your N64, Snes, Nes etc section and think "yeah, I have just good stuff that I like". Its just so easy to collect crap that you saw somewhere and thought that you maybe try it out. You try it, find it ok and forget about it because nobody have time for mediocre games. Another thing is collectors burnout, whenever I hear somebody sells their entire collection they say it feels like a burden because there have no connection and excitment for it anymore. No wonder when you buy games in the high two digits or even three per month, its not that exciting to get a game and the passion slowly fades. But not everybody is like that, just be real what you really want :D.
@@TheWenzinator Youre welcome ^^. Btw, I forgot to say to get your collectors needs filled just collect a lot from 1 or 2 franchises you really love . Btw you need to play Stubbs the Zombie for the OG Xbox, its just a awesome game, sadly its expensive. You should try Raze Hell out too, its exclusive for the OG Xbox. :D
Exactly! I collect pretty much for Persona collectors and lately Shantae. However, I'm pretty much digital at this point so buying 2 games almost seems not worth the effort even though I want the CE goods. With Stubs that has been on my list for a long time it's just way to expensive lol
to downsize one way is sometimes theres a few game collections, like ps has a intellivision collection..so won't have to have all individual just a few not on collection or unless like to play on original better..like i do with atari cuz fun joystick..but sometimes also there are sonic collections i thought that helped downsize so more room to collect bit easier..instead of having the 12 or whatever games a few are all on one cd disc..so there are a few collections like that
and if only collect certain favorite type generas like if only mostly like puzzle or rated everyone type or animal or whatever..that helps make easier to collect too..
Honestly, never had the issue, never will downsize, i only buy what i want to play, its mostly RPGs/Horror games/Unique fun gameplay video games. Or something i can play Co-op with my wife. (i dont buy bundles, and dont buy copies, i leave it for next collector to find it even if its rare game, i only buy extras if its to upgrade artwork/get manual)
Respect that you don't try to grab those extra copies! Buying the games you want to play are essential sometimes you can get lost buying a bunch of games.
Same I only buy what I want to play or collect which is mostly JRPG and some platforms and the only double I have are for Pokemon games. There is only so much space so I have always been mindful of what I purchase, is still a lot but is my favorite lot.
Hello, I have the same problem as you. I keep buying new Games for PS4, Switch and Xbox One but most of the time I don't play them or it takes me forever to play them. To be honest I might have around 10 PS4 Games, 1 for Switch (Luigi's Mansion 3) and Quantum Break for Xbox One and never finished them, last week my boss gave me a Christmas bonus and I spent it all on Video Games (Control PS4), (Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order PS4) (Batman Arkham Collection PS4) and Alex Kidd in the Miracle World DX also for PS4. I don't know if I will ever play them but I really need to stop buying Video Games, I just ended my RUclips "career" after 11 years being active and there is no reason to keep buying more Video Games.
Look at all those games you have and maybe downsize what you think is right to get rid of. Some games you may want to play in the future you can use as rainy day games I understand though I'm still struggling with so many games even with me going digital. I've just started to play what I buy immediately and that's been helping by creating a Backlog road map!
@@TheWenzinator Thank you for your reply, last month I bought 5 games, all for PS4 because my boss gave me a Christmas bonus and I spent all most it all and I barely touched them. The only one I played was Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order but I found it a little boring so I stopped playing it. I'm going to make a list for games I play the least and try to sell them but problem is: finding someone who's going to buy them.
@@TheWenzinator I think I'm going to sell my Switch as well, not because it is a terrible console but because I bought it back in March '18 and I only have 4 Games (Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Mario Kart and Luigi's Mansion 3). Right now my Switch is inside the box because I don't have enough space on my desk to plug it. Now that I think of it, I bought the Switch because I wanted to play Mario Kart and Luigi's Mansion and I played Luigi's for 20 minutes and then I stopped playing, the controls were a little confusing for me so I stopped and I got bored with Mario Kart. Same thing for other 2 Games. I really need to do something useful and stop buying things that I will use only once.
I think the switch actually helps me finish games. I'm in love with that console so much. I'm not sure what games you tend to play but the switch for Indies and it's AAA games are fantastic. Like I said, make a list and go from there maybe even add some games to play on switch you could surprise yourself.
Great video - as someone also looking at downsizing I appreciate your viewpoint and completely agree! I've always been a believer in having a smaller, more curated collection, but even then some of those titles I have aren't getting played!
I totally understand. Even after downsizing further I still have some of those games lol. Thanks for checking out the video

Hey thanks for stopping by and supporting the channel! Glad you enjoyed the video
Just got recommended this video as well. Having checked a couple of other videos, this channel is definitely worth a sub.
Thank you so much for watching the video and subbing!
My dream as a collector would be to have a gameroom like Metal Jesus, but I know that'll never happen lmao.
Lmfao PREACH! I feel the exact same way except I want a bunch of games I'll actually play not just a huge collection.

I hate downsizing but had to so sold the ones I’ll never play
There ya go! Yeah sometimes you just have to get rid of stuff you know you won't play.
Cool video, just subbed.
Thank you I appreciate it!
