As the story goes, a reporter asked Eddie Van Halen what it's like to be the greatest guitar player in the world. Eddie replied, "I have no idea. You'll have to ask Roy Clark.". I hope they story is true.

I'm 61 years old this year and I remember hearing about that back in the day. It's true. That's both a testament to Roy Clark and also to Eddie's honesty.

Actually, Jimmy said Rory Gallagher, although there are also some folks that say it was Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. There is also a time when he did say Roy Clark. Of course, when you take in account that Jimmy Hendrix didn’t really care about trying to compete he was more interested in the love of the music and playing the instruments so he actually may have said all of them at some point in time. on one TV show he was reporter to his said when ask how he felt about being the greatest guitar player, he said well, the greatest in the seat anyways. Trying to downplay himself. But all the greats always name somebody else even Jimmy.

My step-father died in 1997. He loved Roy Clark. He told me "you'll never play
the guitar like Roy Clark"! 50 years later he proved to be correct. Rip Roy.

I remember the song being "in rotation" when I was a Kid... but for assorted reasons I hit a stretch where I hadn't heard it for like 5-10 years... then one day I caught it on a "classics" station... that fake-out intro Got me... I recognized everything about it as Roy... but having not heard it in so long I'd forgotten that it Opened so serious and then pivoted,,,

      No entitlement there!!!!
How do you think the entertainment service makes $$ so they can offer you free entertainment?
