Australia checking in. Great to see someone, giving these guys some attention overseas. They are a very rewarding species and a great pet for the beginner. I must disagree and say, M.s mcdowelli get huge, I have had several from 16 up to 18 foot long and seen several the same or larger basking with wallaby inside them in the wild. Great channel.
Glad I found your channel! I love Carpet Pythons. Don't have any yet, but hope to when the time is right! I would really love to see some of the brightly colored ones, striped, and zebras!
Very cool video! I’ve been wanting to learn more about the various pythons and this layout is so easy to follow. The still shots are fantastic, as well.
wait is this Eric from mpr ? i know that voice i’ve bin listening for the last year and just got my 1st carpet it’s a red jag stripe from basuca ectoherms i had just listened to the morph brake down the red costal project and the mbb Benjamin stuff i feel in love with the caramel then stumbled upon the reds i get my 1st carpet in the morning tomorrow you guys have no idea how bad you and owen made me want a carpet i always assumed they where wild af like the ones steve Erwin used to catch and save and do all that crazy shit with and there biteing the piss out of him i always assumed they where devil 😈 snakes till i started listening now i so damn excited to finally keep one and add it to my collection 💯% changed my mind on the species as a hole if not for mpr i would have completely wrought carpets off i thank you 🙏🏻
I've got a M.S Imbricata, here in the southern area of Perth, Australia... such a placid well behaved snake... even as a Hatchling they are easy to socialise with humans... a very secretive hidden species and not much data on them, which is why I document every little detail as I can, even if it seems irrelevant.. Enjoyed your Vid... cheers for sharing 👍
I have a children’s python and recently got a spotted python. I really love the Australian snakes and i’m interested in getting a carpet. This video was awesome, thanks for all of the info!!
I got the most GORGEOUS female coastal from you this year. She’s so amazing that I will be getting a male from you as well. Most likely next year. Great video! And insane job on breeding!
Would love for you to start doing some videos again as l would love to see what you are doing with your carpets. l have 5, 2 jungles, 1 het for Azanthic Coastal, 1 Tri color Albino Darwin and one Bredli's python. l do have a Rough scaled and 4 Antaresia.
I just discovered your channel and love the subject matter, but your volumes are too low. I'm a bit older and a bit hard of hearing, but a higher volume would be appreciated.
Coastal Pythons are the best!. Mine's soo placid & easy to handle. I often feel that initially I was given the wrong info. At first, I believed the crowd & opted for a children's python as my first snake & it was soo aggressive! & when I researched coastals the common perception was they are more snappy. Yet, he's soo tame. Just goes to show that you just have to go with your gut.
I’m so interested in carpet pythons but I have never owned a snake. I plan on getting my first this year and am doing plenty of research daily. Do you think the jungle carpets would be okay as a first snake if I was dedicated to them? A few people have told me”just get a ball python” and I absolutely don’t want one. I don’t want what everybody else wants. The carpets are by far my favorites
Awesome video Eric. Some amazing looking carpets in those pictures. Are they from your collection? Also great breakdown of the carpet complex..🤘👍👍👍 . Would love if you did a vid on the different localities of coastal carpets.........😉
Qwerty i wouldnt for your first id tell anyone ball pythons are the absolute best first snake. no need to jump strait into anything like a carpet python take your time and work your way up with snakes as you get more experiemced
@@stickygingers5671 My first snake was a jungle carpet! I absolutely love them and got into them on the low end, got rid of that and started getting into higher quality carpets. Now I have 5 of them. Very easy to care for and a pleasure to work with. Would recommend them to anyone.
Carpandros are cool. I don’t have any and don’t think it’s my thing but very cool looking snakes. I always tell people if you want to breed something do what you like and not what’s cool. You can always make what you like cool.
Hey man I’m a little stuck I recently bought a carpet python , from a good friend I trust it is what he says it is but due to subspecies and localities I’m not sure what my guy is and how big he’ll get as hell very , could you help me out
A pure coastal carpet python can get a lot larger than what you’ve just stated, 10 to 12 foot nothing unusual but an average would be around 8 to 10 foot
no way you think papuans get no longer than 4 feet. my 9 month papuan is 4 feet😂 papuans get 6-8 feet for sure. unless you barely feed them they will grow.
Haha coastal carpets dont get big!! Not sure what carpets you have over in the US but here in AUS mate avrage size is 8ft for females largest iv cought wild was just over 12ft 👍.
Just a little FYI for you, if you want to polish your presentation, ETC, or ETCETRA or ETCETERA is not pronounced EKSETERA! There is no "X" or "K" in ETC!
We need more of these, man!

Very concise and well explained explanation of the species. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Eric.

Being from Australia we don't have a lot of choice for what kind of snakes we can own but the Carpets are my favorite. You have a great collection.

Aidan Hayes not ball pythons lol

All of the snakes are mine except for the Imbricata. Localities will be on the channel real soon. Morphs too.
I hope you come back for more videos. I’m subbing
Have you had issues getting them to eat rats? Mine seems to hate em.
No. I never really have had that issue
Should I get a carpet python as my first snake or is there another snake I should get

Tanner Jordie ok thanks 😊
whats your website so when im ready i can acquire some carpets to my family?
Metcalfei are the best. I work with em also amd think they should be classified as a full species
How do I buy a one from you?
So what do you think about Carpondros? Is it worth getting into them on a breeding level what’s you’re opinion?
Carpandros are cool. I don’t have any and don’t think it’s my thing but very cool looking snakes. I always tell people if you want to breed something do what you like and not what’s cool. You can always make what you like cool.
Whose snake is that at 9:13 the diamond
Elizabeth Harvey it's a reduced pattern diamond
Are you exporting to Indonesia?
Coastal carpet pythons might not be big in the us but Gere in aus I've seen multiple 3-6m
I have a Darwin carpet python but he is a litlle nipie still love it
I wanna learn about growth rate
Hey man I’m a little stuck I recently bought a carpet python , from a good friend I trust it is what he says it is but due to subspecies and localities I’m not sure what my guy is and how big he’ll get as hell very , could you help me out
Ok... Do u breed the jaguar gene?
Currently, I do.
I have darwin lazik lines That aren’t albino
Nice!! I

I’m needing jungle
So far 5 dopes felt the need to dislike for whatever reason.
Haters are going to hate. lol
The errors in the subs were very distracting. The names were butchered.

I want a non costal
Ya know!!!
There has been one wild Diamond Python that was Melanistic (completley black)

Nobody cares majority of people say it like that
