    I have the YT Izzo Pro Race which was the high end Izzo during the pandemic and rode it ALL the time. It is light at 27.4 pounds, fast, super capable for a short travel bike, and climbed great. I replaced it with the new Pivot Trail 429 just because I always wanted one and it's probably the best short-travel bike I've ridden. But this is the thing, my Izzo in that highest build was very, very good. So good that when I was finally able to get the Trail 429, I expected be blown away by some of that DW-Link magic sauce and I wasn't. I mean it was great, my Strava times got better and now I LOVE it, but it wasn't like $3200 better (paid $5,300 for the Izzo Pro Race). I think the top build Izzos are super balanced in terms of climbing well and going down hill well. Where it shines is in the flow-ier fast trails with a lot of up/downs and twists & turns. The Trail 429 is just a little bit more agile & climbs slightly better without having to mess with the shock settings. But with the Izzos lockout option and with putting the flip-chip on the high setting, it can hold it's own with the 429 & Ibis Ripley. I'd say you get 95%-96% of the performance those bikes get for a lot less. The Trail 429 and Ibis Ripley are the standard for short-travel trail bikes but to me the Izzo downhill feels more planted than the Ripley because the Ripley front end feels twitchy to me. The Trail 429 is the most balanced, but the YT Izzo is pretty damn good. If you live in So Cal, the YT USA headquarters is in San Clemente, so any warranty issues, it's a short drive to their location to get stuff worked on so that's a plus for it being a direct-to-consumer bike. Oh by the way, there's NOTHING wrong with the Forekaster tires because every other tire maker is now making downcountry tires that are similar. If anything, use it as the back tire because it rolls very fast, and maybe put a dissector on the front if you're going to push the bike hard.

    I ride the Intense Sniper T (same as your 951). Rode the mountains of NC for 4 months this summer. DuPont, Fire Mountain, Berm Park, Stumphouse, Kanuga, Heartbreak Ridge, Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain just to name a few. Loved the feel and ride, had a blast all summer. It is an excellent climber and confident descender. Not completely impressed with the NX/GX drivetrain although. Love the XT on my Primmer and will be upgrading in short order. Both bikes are sturdy steeds and no matter what you do, there will always be differences to the ride, the suspensions are different in their design. Suspension is one (if not the) hardest thing to set up. Air pressures, rebound and compression adjustments (951 is not equipped with high/low speed adjustments) and volume spacers to boot! Change one thing, it can ride so much differently. But when you dial it in, magic!

      I can't wait to take mine to DuPont. I bet it will be an absolute blast. Definitely agree with the xt upgrade. One of the best drivetrains out there. Thanks for watching! Glad I'm not the only one in love with this bike.

    I'd like to hear your take between the Izzo and the Jeffsy.

      @acebikemedia  Год назад +1

      Great question. So the jeffsy is a great bike if you literally want to do everything "ok". When it was my only full suspension it was fine on the XC trails. Not lightening fast. Ut not horribly slow, and then opposite to that I've hit every double black bike trail I've come across. It's not the fastest Enduro bike, but it's what I use and it handles the abuse. The izzo is exactly what I imagine when I think of a trail bike. It's very fast in XC trail but it can handle plenty of rough situations, but it will find it's limits in bike parks

      @@acebikemedia It sounds like you made the right choice in going a little bit more towards the XC side of down country spectrum with the Intense to compliment your Jeffsy.
