great video, very informative and detailed review. Yea that GLE controller is the business !
thanks so much 🤝 i’m super happy with it so far
Hey I know this video is a year old now but I you inspired me to get a controller to use with the stock battery. However, I am having issues with the bike cutting out when I lightly ease onto the throttle. I have been in contact with support but they have been unhelpful saying I need get an android device in order for them to remotely connect to my bike. until that comes in, I was wondering if you had all the parameters for your tune for the GLE dashboard app so I can mimic them to see if that will remedy my issue. Great content and I appreciate any help
Love the video man great job
thanks man i’m excited to see your megaride video
Do you know good eggrider v2 settings for Surron stock 60v no bypass & bac4000 controller??? I have the egg Rider V2 coming in the mail, and I'm afraid when I get it I'm going to be completely lost on where to set the settings when it comes to voltage, wattage, kilowatts, throttle, etc. Do you have any references or anything???
Also, the GLE dashboard app doesn't work with my Android phone, it only works with older Android phones. That's why I'm reduced to buying the egg Rider V2 to program my bike.
KO nano controller does it for me easy install downside for me is that you need to tune the throttle a lot at first
Whats the Top speed with stock battery
Bro GLE hands down is the best. I did the same controller by them but no heat sink cause it wasn't in stock and I'm still on stock battery too. World of difference.
YES dude it’s like waaay more of a power bump than I was expecting - glad you had a good experience too
What’s your top speed after the controller??
Do you have a stock motor and battery? Ive got a talaria sting mx3 and I want to upgrade my controller while keeping my battery and motor stock. Any ideas? EBMX 9000?
polished & tooling marks is a contradiction, thats just raw
haha correct, it’s just called “polished heatsink” on their website, i think they call it that because it looks polished compared to the black anodized option.
That looked hard as fuck to install
😂😂
does ur friend have 2023 or 2022 surron?
just got my bac installed and im not liking it, mainly because throttle has a delay, do know anyway i can fix that with certain tuning methods?
that’s weird - there should be zero delay. once you’re past the throttle dead zone, does it respond immediately to throttle inputs? It could be either your throttle deadzone making it feel slow, or it could be your ramp-up time is too long. save your current tune so you can come back to it, then start experimenting with those values
@@logan-taylor my ramp up is 20 rn but imma put it to 5 and ramp down is 25
@@logan-taylor dead zone is untouched and everything else is fine but idk man, the power just has a delay and I can’t wheelie like I used to with stock controller 😭
What helmet do you have?
So I just got my bac4000 from gle, what are the best all around settings. I’m non bypassed stock 60v 40ah. How many watts do I set it at etc?
I run 6kw and basically everything else the factory settings. Depending on your battery health it might cut out if you go full throttle for too long, then you can just bump it down in 100w increments until it doesn’t anymore!
@@logan-taylor cool my bike is basically new lol. 800 miles on it 😂 “new” I love this thing. we need more surron videos bro!!!
@joordxn i gotchu!
You can literally adjust everything you just mentioned with the sirhan by squeezing the front brake in short bursts and holding it for long
Does the standard display not work at all with bac4000?
unfortunately not :( but I think GLE offers an eggrider package that’ll plug right in! Ive been running no display though and it’s been great, really cleans up the bars.
So that’s on a stock battery and you didn’t have to re program the battery. What is the top speed and if you get on the throttle does it eat up more battery. Also what is the top speed?
Totally stock battery, no bypass or anything. Ironically my range actually went up, partially because the stock surron controller was so inefficient, and also because I use regen a lot now. I maybe get an extra 10-15% range on average.
I haven’t measured top speed with a GPS yet, but my friend with the same setup said he went from 45mph->55mph
@@logan-taylor is that with cutting the green wire? or does that controller actually do the bypass without needing to cut the cable?
@@josephgermain2003 i believe you don’t need to cut the cable (or technically even plug in that plug) but i’m not sure cause mine was already chopped!
Did you bypass battery? And how easy was the installation and tuning? I was looking at emotobros and electro and co but gle has been in my head too
No bypass :) They did send me their kit to try out, so may do that in a future video if you’re interested. Install was crazy easy with the right tools, it took maybe an hour. Tuning is just a matter of setting 6kw for a stock battery and that’s about it! I like EMB and electro & co, but I think GLE wins on configurability and regen which are both important to me. The App is pretty cool too 😎
@@logan-taylor yea, do you have the link to the exact controller you have? I checked their site and I can't find the one you have with the aluminum protector. The regen switch is definitely new to me, good idea. The fact that I wouldn't need to bypass makes me want it more!
@@Danielxperez14 totally, the heatsink is actually sold separately: www.glengineering.co/products/true-fin-gle-enduro-heatsink-bac4000
Controller: www.glengineering.co/products/bac4000
they also gave me a discount code in case that helps, i think it’s LOGAN5OFF. The regen is totally a game changer I didn’t expect.
@@logan-taylor I'll definitely use your code, thanks logan
@@Danielxperez14 SICK!! I hope you love the controller
Can i run a upgraded controller with stock motor/battery??
yep!’ that’s what i did!
I’m having trouble using the gle app. Keeps saying my number or email isn’t authorized. I contacted gle but no reply yet.
oh dang - i remember there being something about only using one or the other, but can’t remember the details. Have you followed up with them via email? Usually they respond quickly, so they might have just missed your email
@@logan-taylor sent them an email yesterday followed up an email an hour ago still nothing. Thanks anyway
@@logan-taylor but yeah I’m not using egg rider and removed factory horn and display was just gonna run the gle dashboard but it’s saying my number or email aren’t authorized
Hey Logan, nice video! I wanna ask because i just got my Surron LBX 2023 and after a bit of use i got that feeling where i wanna upgrade it... So my question is, is there any chance that it will happen something to the Surron? Like will it break in the future after using it or something like that, i mean i'd love to upgrade my Surron for sure but i wanna know if everything is going to be okay after putting on this controller and etc, thank you!
Are you serious? My friend did the same thing and they said that it drained their battery I have a controller but only stock battery and want to put it on, but I was told it would drain the battery too quick
When are you gonna get the 72v battery??
soon…
You should try making your own 72v battery, one of my friends did it, his name is Phillip
phillip is braver than I.
Philips house gonna burn down 💯
Top speed?
You could have titled this, Pavement Princesses in Seattle.
ok boomer
Now you saying it's way more powerful......now are you talking torque wise, like the bike wants to loop way more now? Or you speaking like top end? I thought that was a direct relation to voltage and since you didn't change that I'm leaning toward the torque.
Link?
what happened to the wrap??
working on a dif prototype - quality wasn’t what i was looking for
the stuff surronster doesn’t show
hahaha
Top speed
Does the stock battery still show accurate battery charge percentage on the top of it like normal?
yep! The display on the bars just stops updating, that’s the only difference
@@logan-taylor ordering now thanks for the recommendation
@@anthonycurtiskeller Awesome! You can use my discount code if you want to save some money, i think it’s “LOGAN5OFF”
Stock motor stock battery ?
at the time yep!
@@logan-taylorcheers bro I’m deffo lookin into getting this
is your battery bypassed ????
nope! Totally stock 2022 surron battery.
@@logan-taylor i thought you had to bypass your controller or else it fries it ?
@@nedyt_ the battery has a BMS so the only thing that will happen if you run too much power is your battery cuts out to keep itself safe. Then you just reboot your bike and its fine. at 6kw i’ve only had one cutout and that was when i had low battery and I was full throttle uphill racing someone haha
my KO nano has 8k miles
You ned to bypass your batterys bms to run much more than stock power you can run like 7000watts safely if its bypassed.
I’m not sure if bypassing is the route I want to go, but the power is tempting…
@@logan-taylor the power increase without a bypass is minimal. The way to go is definitely an aftermarket 72v then you can run like 15kw before needing a better motor. But a nice in between stock and that is bypassing your stock battery. Chi batteries sell there batteries with bypassed bms it's not dangerous you just gotta not overdrawn the battery or you'll damage the cells and also not try andbpull too much power more than what the cells are rated for. I believe surrons can pull 7kw safely tho.
honestly for me the unbypasaed battery was a huge jump - way more than I was expecting at 6kw. But if course the goal is always 72v :)
@@logan-taylor I have a talaria so I bypassed got the bac8000 and went from 6kw to 8kw and its better but really wasn't an impressive jump in power. I'll have a 72v soon and kick it up to some real power.
@@TheDoodeII awesome!! If you haven't ordered yet, they gave me a discount code in case it's helpful: LOGAN5OFF
🤟👽🚲🎬
hell yeah
I had the BAC8000 from EBMX and it died after 1,000 miles. I paid another $1k and it only lasted 130 miles. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
Yea it’s a cheap pile of trash mine died after 500 miles
Do these aftermarket controllers last longer than stock? My controller has a "over current protection fault" it works only when it's sunny and warm. It was very hard to diagnose. Now I learn that controllers are like tires and chains, they have to be replaced.
Going in I knew that the battery would wear out. I have a second battery. But then I come to find out that controllers also wear out. So it's a 1500 dollar battery and add a 1000 dollar controller... I can buy many gallons of gas...
Are you serious? My friend did the same thing and they said that it drained their battery I have a controller but only stock battery and want to put it on, but I was told it would drain the battery too quick
