5/22 I just want to say that, as a beginner, this is THEE FIRST full tutorial that I was able to not only *complete, but IT LOOKS AMAZING!!! I cannot believe the ease and quickness. This not only made me a blanket, but it made my CONFIDENCE soar!!! @Maisie and Ruth, I am starting this in my little, personal book of easy and favorite crochet patterns, so I can remember them forever. And I've added this to page 1 and of course, credit where credit is due. any photos or videos will have your us/nm will be pinned on. Thank you for giving me a present I can pass onto future generations.
This is one of the best tutorials I have watched….you are so patient and your voice is very pleasant. The video is clear to see every step…and to top it off your blog also has step-by-step pictures. There’s nothing more frustrating that trying a new pattern and just messing up the yarn! Thank you!
I just finished this baby blanket. It’s the pretties blanket that I have ever made. I could cry it’s so pretty. Thank you sharing this pattern with us. You did a great job on this video. Again Thank You So Much. ❤️❤️
Hi Amanda i just wanted to Thank you for this pattern/tutorial i have actually done this Beautiful blanket several times for baby shower gifts and i actually use your teddy motif on each corner, it's lovingly known now by my family as gigi's teddy blanket so again Thank you , i have been following you for a few years now and i have learned so much from you . blessings always for you and your family .
As a first timer at crochet, I just like to say , your easy to follow, step by step, you're also Scottish which makes it even easier for me. Thanks ♥️ a trillion💯👍💓🏴
You do beautiful work, and I love the sound of your voice and I love the sound of your voice. It seems like in most of your patterns you show us once and then you say I’ll show you one more time but I think you should show us three or four more times. Thank you
im currently working on this blanket, its absolutely gorgeous, cant wait to see end result. thank you so much amanda for sharing this pattern and thank you for the fantastic tutorial x
I made this in navy instead of pink, with a white border and a bright pink trim. As my first time crochet baby blanket, it went super well thanks to your excellent instructions and video. Thank you!

I want to thank you for such a talented tutor you are I knew only basic crochet but I'm now half way through making this beautiful waffle blanket for my friend . I know also know the name of a stich too many many thx x
Hello Amanda, it’s taken me a few months, but I have finally made this beautiful blanket in green organic cotton yarn and I just love it. Thank you so much for your easy to follow instructions, and indeed, your channel too. I also made the booties as you showed us in another of your videos. Wishing you a gentle new day where you live. Thank you again, kind regards from Dianne in Melbourne 💕
Hi Dianne, that sounds gorgeous - I'm really pleased that you like the final result! 💝 And you're very welcome, I'm glad that you're enjoying my tutorials! 🥰 Keep up the good work.
Very beautiful and easy pattern to follow, quite relaxing. I used the same yarn you have used in this tutorial, but, I do not like it as I find it quite scratchy. I think next time I will be using a differend yarn.
Great teaching Amanda. Nice and slow for us beginners. I am able to follow you with ease. I just found your channel via face book, very pleased i did. Will keep following you. Going to try this waffle stitch for my next blanket. Thanks Amanda, great work. Oh could you put a tutorial up using a chunky/ aran yarn if you have time. Being a beginner i find it easier to use a slightly thicker yarn. 😊😊 I hope you don't mind me asking for this, 😊
Thanks for your feedback, Eleanor 😊 It's very useful for me to know this! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and it was the right speed for you. I'm sure your blanket will turn out lovely when you get the chance to make it 💖 I've just put up a video for another baby blanket using a chunky yarn: ruclips.net/video/a-MJLrVnYrg/видео.html You can also make the Waffle blanket with a thicker yarn... it looks very attractive with a heavier weight wool and is even squishier! 🤗
Almost finished my first blanket with this pattern. 10/10 pattern and video, but it should be made clear that this is a HEAVY pattern. It requires a lot of yarn, and you end up with a very thick, warm blanket. Ideal for winter babies, but also very cushy for tummy time. Possibly even a crib liner, but not ideal for warmer climates.
Love this pattern. Just finished following your tutorial and blanket was beautiful. I used blue for the middle & a blue green & white medley for the border. Debating on the ribbon, either way it's a great looking blanket.
Qui a traduit les explications en français ? Très jolie couverture avec un points facile pour un rendu magnifique. Dommage pour la traduction, la personne aurait dû s'abstenir ou apprendre le crochet avant.
Hello, thanks for the easy tutorial. I am a bit puzzled that I finished my white yarn at the start of row 6. I had to buy another one. However what a beautiful blanket.
Hi Karen, you can make it any size (as long as you have enough yarn). You can make your foundation chain as long or as short as you like, making sure that it is a multiple of 3 💞
Hi thank you for this video i am a beginner and am loving this pattern and have learnt it thanks to you! I have a question though... when i come tot he end of the first skein how do i move to the 2nd skein?
Hi love your channel amazing teacher ,just wondering do you make or could you make baby cardigans please I think I could learn a lot from you doing them your so easy to follow thank you in advance x
As a gifted instructress, you execute instructions in a simple fashion, This results in a blanket that is a masterpiece, a delight to the eye, and just a spectacular finished item for a baby. sparklynnglitter
Hello, your tutorial is absolutely fantastic. Easy to understand and follow. Can you please advise on how many bows you used? Did you put on each corner of the blanket or only on one? Thank you a lot!
That's great, I'm so pleased to hear that - thank you! 🥰 I only tied one bow but I've seen photos whereby there is a bow in each corner and it looks really pretty. One viewer also made this blanket and attached a 3D crochet bow to the corner. It looked gorgeous - the tutorial for the bow is here: ruclips.net/video/ptCnTLD0Io8/видео.html 💝
Just started this blanket, very excited to see it to the end, I am using the pattern alongside the video, can I just double check, chain 135 stitches, double crotchet into the third stitch from the hook: 132 or 134 dc to the end?
In the written pattern, the number at the end of each row in [ ] is the number of stitches you should have once you've worked all your stitches. So for row 1, you work 1 double crochet in to the 3rd chain from the hook (the 2 chains that you've just skipped count as your first double crochet) and then you work 1 double crochet in to the next 132 chains. At the end of row 1, you should have 134 stitches. Thanks so much for watching, I'm really glad that you like this blanket! 😀
Hi Amanda, would this blanket work using the paintbox simply chunky yarn too? I have so many skeins left and would like to reuse them on this pattern. Thank you for your wonderful tutorials
Hi Camila, yes - definitely! For details on how to use a different weight of yarn for this pattern please see the information in the description box below the video. And you're very welcome - I'm really pleased that you're enjoying my tutorials! 😃🌷
Is there a good way to make this smaller? I got to row three and realized how big the blanket was going to be, and I didn’t want to try to make it smaller and mess up half way realizing the pattern wouldn’t match up. (This is my first ever project btw, I’ve never held a hook until today lol)
Thank you! 😃 It's actually a ready made bow from Amazon that I sewed on to the blanket. There are many bow tutorials on RUclips, hopefully you will find one that you like 💝
I have just finished the main pink part with the waffle stitch and it looks beautiful. However, I'm on row 4 of the border now and it ruffles a lot and it just doesn't look nice... I think I need to start over... with a different yarn maybe? Any recommendations for me please? 🙏
