The Microsoft Surface Go 2 is the best 10-inch Windows tablet you can buy right now. It offers a fantastic design, a great Type Cover keyboard and a good Surface Pen stylus. We're getting a pretty screen, the Intel Core m3 version is fast enough and you can get it with LTE. I think it's a great choice if you're looking for a small, portable Windows tablet. If you don't need Windows, however, I would stick with an iPad or Android tablet.

I love the Surface design; kickstand , type cover, pen, SD card slot. I bought a Pro 7 though, I needed a little more computer than I did tablet. For a small tablet I use an iPad Mini. I like that your reviews cover all tablets. Thanks

Just got mine a few days ago and I love it, it's actually faster than I thought and offers more than enough performance for my needs including some 1080p/1440p video editing, CAD, and drawing, though 80% of the time it'll be used for office documents and internet based work.
I got the Core m3 model with an ice blue type cover, surface mouse and pen. Cost me $810 with discounts so not too bad at all, though I did have $150 worth of Amazon e-gift cards I got a while back so my actual out of pocket cost was $660. The main selling point for me was the size, it's a great portable computer with a lot of versatility, though I highly advise the Core m3 model. In my opinion it CAN be a primary device if you're not a power user that absolutely needs super high performance by 2020 standards.
As something to think about the Core m3 in the Go 2 performs somewhere between a Core i7-5500u and a Core i7-6500u while consuming a third of the power. For many people that's enough processing power for most tasks.

@@RoastBeefSandwich Completely depends on the power mode it's on and what you're doing. For watching movies being read from an SD card you'll get around 10 to 11 hours at 50% screen brightness. For streaming netflix you'll get around 8 hours. Surfing the net and working on documents you'll get around 5 to 6 hours. For video editing or CAD work you'll get 3 to 4 hours if you set the Go 2 on best performance mode.

@@03chrisv Thanks, work upgraded me to a Go 2 (model with 128GB SSD but Pentium chip). Liking the bigger display a lot so far. Good review. I've had mine for a few days and love it, the performance is better than my last gen Go and having LTE this time is a gamechanger. Battery life was my only complaint from the last gen, so this time I didn't install Chrome. Considering I have LTE I wasn't expecting to see a difference but so far, I feel the tablet is already lasting almost twice as long. And the new Edge is great, don't miss Chrome at all (so far).

Some Pro 4 have screen flickering problem. If you can get a refurbished Pro 5 in good cosmetic condition and 90% plus battery health at same price as Go 2 128GB version or lower, it would be the best option. Portability wise, nothing beats Go 2.

Probably late on this but I'd go with the pro 5. I have a pro 7 and use it for school in STEM graduate studies and I don't think the go 2 would be able to handle pulling up 15 web pages, several ppt in background, youtube videos to learn material and pdfs at the same time when writing a research paper or doing lab assignments. Which did you end up going with?

The love affair with 10" tablets makes little sense to me for a person who needs to actually get work done. Seems to me the keyboard would be cramped and I would have to learn to type all over again because of the limited space. I guess, in a pinch, it would do. But I agree that staying with IOS or Android would be less costly and more useful for the media consumer.

    2020 bsse model MBA i3 =620

    SG2 m3 chip = $629US (add $40-$50 keyboard/pen $40-$50 pen at Amazon)

I think this size and form factor should be a staple on the tablet market. I remember using a teclast x98 pro back in the day and it was absolutely great. I fully agree on the fact that it's better than wider aspect ratios for working. Also, the screen size rounds up the Go 2 in my opinion. I honestly do not understand why did the Chinese Windows tablets manufacturers stop producing this kind of device, but the case is Microsoft alone now owns this nich of market only due to the lack of competition. I hope there is some in the near future to lower its price.

Good review. Go 2 is def niche due to its limitations, too small for productivity, and not powerful enough to be capable of all your workloads. So not a good choice as your only PC. As a complementary device, the m3 version is the only sensible choice, but very expensive with all the bits. So, only worthwhile if for some reason you need a Windows tablet, which no one should really want one of those as they suck compared to the competition. I would wait, as the new iPad Air is coming soon and there are a plethora of ChromeOS tablets incoming. These will make the Surface Go 2 look mediocre at best ( the Duet already outshines the Pentium Go 2 for value and performance). Go 2 strictly for the hardcore MS fans.
