Quality, reliability, comfort and the ability to get up and go when needed, in a vehicle whose design and style fits your requirements… that’s my definition of luxury
I had one of these for my getaway car in April. Unfortunately it was on gaudy massive wheels which made the ride noisy. It was 10 years old so it had tons of creaks, and needed to get the A/C recharged. It made for great wedding photos though!!
I drive a BMW 7 series from 2015 (full option, M-Sport package & Individual line) and even that car just feels soo smooth, very luxurious, spacious and sporty when in Sport mode. I can only imagine what an upgrade to a Rolls Royce would be.
An old friend of mine illustrated the biggest problem, after the cost, of driving an expensive car… people treat you differently! He bought a Ferrari, and he didn’t like it, because people started treating him “differently.” Poor people no longer spoke to him, except sometimes about the car, and rich people thought he was a poser, because his was the “cheap” Ferrari!”
If anyone wants a low-cost version of this then the W205 Mercedes C-Class with the following options: air suspension and acoustic comfort package (the name of that extra sound insulation and double-pane window package can differ depending on market). The only thing missing from that car is the option for massage seats. Even better if you can snag one of the briefly available facelift cars from ~2019-2020...I guess some still available in 2021, at least in the US. IMO it's the world's best everyday car that offers supreme comfort and quiet, while also fun to drive. With the air suspension its softest mode really does approach Rolls-Royce-like 'waftiness' which separates the Merc from all the competition. And for the very first time I can recommend a Merc in this category for people who enjoy driving too: finally Mercedes doesn't offer horrible steering, in fact it's pretty good. Finally Mercedes doesn't have strange suspension setup, in fact it feels like an AMG-lite when you put the suspension in Sport or Sport+ mode! They've finally decided to make the car handle well, and IMO even though the car overall isn't as sporty as the BMW and Alfa they've actually made the handling perhaps even more cohesive and more pleasantly honed. So it's not as low-slung feeling, not quite as precise, nor as fast with its turn-in response, but overall to me it's better judged and overall more pleasant to drive fast...with the huge party trick of turning into a mini-Rolls at the press of a button! Seriously: go try a C300e with air suspension and acoustic package, I think you'll agree it's one of those automotive jackpots which happen along every once in a while. Especially now with the prices they go for slightly used! I prefer the W205 C-Class over the W213 E-Class just because of the feel and dimensions: IMO the E-Class doesn't really offer much over the C-Class. If you really absolutely need more space and are ready to then have a car that needs more space and is less handy in tight parking lots, on narrow roads, etc. then E-Class with the same options: air suspension and acoustic comfort package might make more sense. So in the US maybe go with that. Then you can also get massage seats which is a huge plus...it's fantastic on long journeys! My recommendation is the PHEV C300e as for the first time ever I'm ok with a 4-cylinder engine as it's so quiet it doesn't really matter...and modern snuffed-out AMG V8s almost sound the same as the 4-cyl when accelerating... There are the risks of PHEVs though of course, so make your own choice on the engine version. I just don't like the other engine options for the Merc: the non-hybrid 2.0 4-pots (C250 & C300) are fine I guess and maybe the smartest choice but most just won't want them, they want a bit more just because. The V6s are made to be annoyingly loud and they're IMO some of the worst sounding V6s I know...they annoy me actually. The C300e has astounding amounts of torque.

LOVE the car! I came close to buying a 2006 Phantom earlier this year from a friend for about a third of the average selling price. I drove it for about a day and as much as I loved it the maintenance costs turned me off. The ride was just amazing it was big and I felt like I was maneuvering a truck because it was so big and you forget it's big especially when you drive a Jag XJ8. I love the suicide two doors on these. I had a Lincoln Conv back in the day with suicide doors and a 4dr T-bird with suicide doors. I always loved the configuration since. Even thought I live in Boston my Jag mechanic is out that way. I have driven the same streets and have passed the school you went to. I got a little lost.
What a soothing half an hour. Beautiful 1st video of yours to watch after coming back from a little vacation. The spec is gorgeous. I was never a big fan of wood in the interior until this year I think. I’m of a similar mindset to you, but I think back to the wooden facia and trim that was pretty much the same in all up market vehicles, just available different shades. 19:58 there couldn´t be anything on the entire workd that could prepare me for what he was about to say lol, that´s some creepy sh*t.
The Toyota rav4 on the background looks more attractive. in case you have any issues you can repair it.
You're in love with a 400k-priced car because you don't need to do any service tasks with it. Same with fuel consumption.
Repairing a plug in hybrid Toyota is probably far more complicated
I would love something like this if I had the kind of money required to buy and maintain one. Peaceful and quiet but still very powerful
People in the town: Pablo Escobar son was found. He lives here. 😂

You can get a 30pin to lightning with a pigtail so you can plug phone in with a case. Bigger question is whether there will be 30 pin to USB-C now that new iPhones are USB-C.
11:03 Lol he almost got rear ended, he absolutely cut that bucket off
It was a 4 way stop. Nobody almost rear ended me or got cut off
the strangest thing just happened. i had to pause this video at 20.14 because i can't believe it. earlier in this video there was a road that looks like the road to my friends office, i quickly imagined what it would be like to drive down that road in my new model y performance and i imagined hitting a deer. i thought about what would happen if the deer didn't die. i would have to call the police to put it out of pain. my jaw dropped when you spoke about the time you drove by and witnessed the exact completely random scenario i imagined 10 minutes ago :O
I can only imagine what the wave of torque would feel like in this car compared to the plane ole v12 fo1
You have the cutest house. So lovely
Beautiful interior the exterior leaves a lot to desire
Nice visual on the deer story as I ate my lunch, just now.
Over here in UK, we pronounce Wraith as Roth.
If I had more money I would definitely be interested in picking up a used one of these
