Thank you so much for doing this reaction...love this tribute so much for my boy. Ivar has always been vunerable around those hes closest too and didnt need a facade with because he saw the love from their eyes not pity..maybe thats why he didnt put on his facade around them. Unfortunately Ivar did put his facade on the most around his brothers and people, but it was simply because of his insecurities and being so desperate to prove himself their equal. Ragnar did help him alot and did see Ivar as special and important to the future. Ivar and Ragnar were the only ones to ever really question and challenge the gods. Both went to England and owned their fate. I dont think Ivar necessarily put himself on a pedestal because when he was truly vulnerable and low..he admitted he that deep down he didnt see himself as devine but he did get too see a sides of his father that his bros didnt, during their time in England, plus during the couple months at least, they spent together im sure they spoke about alot more we didnt see for example the perfect battfield Ragnar showed Ivar. Plus they spoke of Ivar believing that maybe Ragnar didnt get lucky because the gods chose him, maybe it was just Ragnar.

I’d still like to say thank you for this reaction! There are many tributes out there, and like you said, you have to pick one and go with it, and you chose this one. I’d like to recommend Zurik23M’s ”Don’t Be Afraid” though, if it still interests you at all. Your Vikings reactions are done, but maybe you’d still like to watch that just for your own viewing pleasure. I prefer Zurik’s tribute to this one, because Zurik understood Ivar’s character on many levels and the tribute features many of the small yet significant influences Ragnar and Floki both had on Ivar, and the wonderful parallels between them. It shows the arc Ivar’s character went through throughout his life, from being rejected to fighting for respect, leading and ruling, being betrayed and heartbroken, to finally giving and receiving the love he’s always yearned for. I particularly love the ending of that tribute as well, because it reminds the viewers of what defined Ivar’s character throughout the show, from the moment he was born to the final breath he took: pain and suffering. Really beautifully done! If you haven’t seen that one yet, I warmly invite you to check it out. :)

Oh I don't think we'll ever not be interested in Vikings! That show will stay with us for sure n.n We also love Zurik23M's tributes and I did see he made one for Ivar (we'll definitely watch it, just not as a reaction, unfortunately, because yeah, that would be neverending 😅)

For me, one significant (and emotional!) moment was the one with the bishop, where Ivar admitted that he was jealous of him because the bishop in his eyes embodied everything that Ivar would’ve liked to be physically. Voluntarily dropping all pretenses and walls and admitting to your enemy that you feel weak compared to them and admire their strengths - that takes a hell of a lot of courage! Ivar showed emotions to those he felt closest to and whom he trusted, but he also wasn’t afraid to show them in front of someone like Heahmund. I think the facade was reserved for those whose respect he had to work hard for, like his warriors, brothers, or other people. People like Heahmund or also Oleg already respected him when he first met them, so he was more genuine around them.
As for the final moments, I already shared my views for episode 20. You’re of course welcome to choose whatever views you have, but I still don’t agree with your statement that ”we’re all saying the same”, because we don’t. If you choose to believe he was afraid of death or what comes next, then I totally understand, for in our modern times, the majority of people have lost their faith. Without faith, you’re prone to become afraid. Of death, of the unknown, of disease, whatever. So I understand why you, and many others might prefer to choose to look at this scene from an angle that feels more familiar to you, that you yourself can relate to. However, Ivar’s character was a deeply religious one. Like Ragnar, he challenged the gods, but unlike him, he never doubted for a second that the gods existed and would welcome him into Valhalla. This character, like Björn’s character truly believed. Therefore I find it highly illogical that he’d worry about what’s next, or fear death in his final moments. Which brings me to a brief comparison with Björn:
Right from the start, he’s had a rivalry going on with Ivar, viewing himself as the older and therefore wiser brother. Ivar never put himself on a pedestal, but Björn certainly did. He first showed cockiness after Ragnar asked him to help him enter Paris. Having Floki arrested without his father’s consent was the first mistake Björn ever made, and from then on most of his decisions weren’t the smartest ones. I agree that because of his epithet, Björn carried himself with an air of haughtiness and arrogance most of the time - similar to Ivar, but for completely different reasons. It’s interesting to see how Björn’s and Ivar’s arcs start on opposite ends, but eventually the tables are turned entirely, with Björn ending up making mistake after mistake, losing almost everything he had, while Ivar is granted most of the things he yearned for throughout his life in the final season. These two characters have so much in common, yet they are complete opposites. However, the one thing they both shared throughout the show was their strong faith and belief in their gods. Out of all of the brothers, both Björn and Ivar would have *never* agreed to be converted. They both died without fear of death, trusting they’d be welcomed into Odin’s halls, and both of their names are still remembered by people today.

I 100% agree with them, Ivar was afraid of death he had already cemented his legacy so he didn't have to worry about that. Throughout the seasons he always said he wasn't afraid of death and that he welcomed it but what I believe is it wasn't what he expected and it scared him and maybe he might of realized he made a mistake. I think a lot of people think of Ivar as old but he is young still early thirties is the oldest I see him being. Sometimes people put on a front to seem tougher and I believe in those final moments Ivar was truly scared of dying.

He wasn't afraid of death he was afraid of being forgotten so he definitely is entering Valhalla he literally allowed the man to come at him & asked him to not be scared of him what part of that feels like coward to u?
