Alex Hogh is an outstanding actor just like Travis Fimmel and Samantha from TWD, shes epic as Alphai agree. I was never scared of my boy Ivar. I'm his number one fan and it broke my heart seeing him die and finally dropping his facade at the end with his brother. He turned into that lonely cripple boy hes always been inside, desperate to be truly loved and seen as an equal to his brothers and people. I saw his death coming more and more because he was finally getting all the things he truly wanted, like unconditional love from Igor, his fave brother back, an heir and legacy from Katia's and his baby. He also did thing better this time with her and helped save Igor. Thanks for this reaction.

You already know I agree with you, and I like your observation that he was eventually getting many things he’d yearned for all his life - although I also saw his health deteriorating, starting in 5B; they did a great job at gradually and subtly working that into the show, so the sudden physical decline in the last episodes wasn’t so surprising, you could already see it coming. The only thing I don’t quite agree with is the dropping of the facade in his final moments, I think he’s done that numerous times throughout the show with characters he trusted the most that were closest to him, it’s not something that only happened in that last scene. In fact, despite most people only seeing the ruthless antagonist in this character, I think he was one of the most emotional ones throughout the show. Alex who portrays him is a master at letting just the perfect amount of tears well up in his eyes whenever a scene or moment requires it to show the viewers that there are so many more layers to this character than what you see on the outside. I loved and appreciated that immensely.

@@-breakofdawn- Thank you and yes i agree with all you say. I didnt mean that wS the only time Ivar dropped his facade. He did it alot with those he was most comfortable with,(Ragnar, Floki and his mother..then Freydis).. However he didnt do that at all with his brothers because he was desperate to prove himself their equal, which made them not really see his pain or hurt whenever they didnt trust in him or for example when Ubbe chose to leave York then to support his baby brother leading. That really hurt Ivar, which is why he shouts and taunts him while he leaves, noy to be a dick because hes hurt, Alex plays that perfectly with his facial expressions, the hurt on his face for a moment, that then turns to anger. Even with Hvitserk, Ivar would say some stupid or negative things to Hvitserk in 5a and b, then once Hvitserk turns and walks away, u see Ivars face drop and looks sad. Not many really notice that or assume Ivars being like because hes evil and doesnt care about his brothers. Quite the opposite, Ivar would of loved Ubbe to stay and support him, rather than him being alone. He pushed Hvitserk away by not being vunerable around him and of course with his god complex rule, but if Ivar had opened up like he did with Floki, it would of gone a long way with helping their relationship. Ivar couldn't do that though and still be seen a equal by them, at least thats what he believed. Ivar did start being more open and vunerable after being reunited with Hvitserk in s6. He finally felt and got the love he wanted from a brother, Hvitserk chose his side and believed him in and probably would of died for him if Ivar didnt tell him to stay back. Ivars facade dropped completely with Hvitserk at the end, is what i meant, theres no way my baby would of ever cried or admitted fear to them in s4, he would usually get angry, lash out or simply joke or banter with them. Yes Ivar has so many layers and carried so much pain and emotions inside, even when he wasnt showing it. Lets not forget the physical pain he also had to deal with for all of his life. So glad you noticed how brilliant Alex played Ivar, so many missed that and simply assumed the worst in him. Like so many assumed he'd try and kill his father and brothers for no reason, even when their was nothing to support that and Ivar was the only son defending his father.

I’ll be completely honest, there are so many times where I myself have felt like Ivar. I find it very hard to open up & be vulnerable with people in general. But I am learning how to open up & be vulnerable with the people that I love & I know I can trust
