They should have realistic emotions, real philosophy, relatable and realistic characters who act real. But the things these vtubers are doing is life imitating bad art. Tsundere, yandere, loli, dommy mommy, nekomata or whatever tf these character archetypes and personalities are not real. And these streamers are trying take on these personalities to pander to their audience who have no media literacy or anything and would virtually consoom any shit off the internet. They're not all bundles of cuteness and forced fake positivity for the sake of monetization like these vtubers are. tl;dr he doesn't like watching grown ass men and women begging for money from netizens while trying to act like nonexistent fictional characters.

I like Vtubers for many reasons. Here are some of them is; 1. Anonymity. 2. Not-real. 3. Entertainment. The anonymity makes it so that you can be and do whoever or whatever you want, regardless of race, gender, religion etcetera. Racists, and people like that, can't sh-t-talk you if they don't know who you really are. It also gives the person more privacy, which is great. When it comes to them not being real, i like that. We have these people, these actors, providing an escape from the real world. The real world is pretty sh-tty. It has murder, decease, war, famine, political unrest, religious and ethnic prosecution and stuff like that. So having a little world, the world of Vtubers, that you can escape to when the real world gets too miserable, is awesome! When it comes to entertainment, the Vtubers don't disappoint. There are many different Vtubers with their own personalities and their own style of entertainment. From a screaming yandere like Uruha Rushia to a kinda lewd demon-loli like Ironmouse, there is certainly a Vtuber out there for you. I watch both "real" youtubers and Vtubers and I like both equally. There are probably some that follow Vocaloid purely because its Vocaloid, but I'm pretty sure most follow the artists more than the Vocaloid they are using.
That's how the industry is like now. But back in 2007 - 2010, people were all about the Vocaloids first and then producers second. I feel like his argument wasn’t that “they’re bad bc they’re not real”, but that it’s that vtubers are taking traditional anime characters (tsunderes, yanderes, etc.), which HE already doesn’t like, and putting that on an already existing caricature. Or maybe I’m completely wrong but I’m just trying to understand where he is coming from. Btw, I’m also not the biggest fan of vtubers but only bc the really high pitched voices just annoy me. I just don't get it. People are perfectly fine with donating and watch grown men play video games for days on end, but when an anime girl does it....EVERYONE JUST LOSES THEIR MINDS!!
Its okay for Scamboli to have a negative opinion on VTubers (especially if what he's exposed to stuff initially he didn't enjoy). I think the main problem with the video is just that he didn't do enough research on the subject, which leads to a bunch of misinformation (ie. his Kizuna AI statements, his statement on male VTubers, some of the history brought up in the vid, and Cover reasoning to branch out was based on Nijisanji branching out). Also its clear that him looking VTubers is sort of surface level, cuz there's so many VTubers that there kind of exist a niche for anyone; just because a specific VTuber is popular, or that a bunch of popular VTubers follow a similar trend, doesn't mean that they represent what all VTubers are like. For example, since normal gaming streams that replace a webcam with an avatar are also considered a VTuber, possibly he might he like those.
Let's see... you said it yourself before, it looks like a cult to people outside the rabbit hole, even if people know it's not nearly as bad on the inside (except for a several individuals that drop 500$ superchats like it's nothing, but I assume most of them can afford that). One of the reasons I think vtubers got popular lately is because a lot of non-vtuber channels are not nearly as active. I'm subscribed to over 40 channels, and yet I only see around 0-3 videos per day. I do agree that baby voice is annoying, which is why I don't enjoy Luna. But again, for most of them, after they get used to talking, they mostly ditch the setting and just be talented streamers with a quirk and an extra wall of protection against haters. Well... there's also Haachama, where people pray that she is acting and not actually like that... but again, there are some for everyone. Looking at complaints in that video, he would probably like Marine. The part about China is kinda weird. The whole world is already pissed at them for starting the pandemic, so maybe bashing on world-favorite girls is not the smartest move. The part about Pewdiepie being a vtuber is the most hilarious and retarded shit. He used an avatar a couple times as a joke, but gatekeepers took it seriously and got ultra butthurt. Nux did a good job explaining that in The Toxic Simps of the Vtuber Community, which you could react to or at least watch in your free time. Oh, and one more thing. If you want to know more about Kizuna Ai, she's having a collab with Vshojo in 13 hours. So there will likely be a lot of clips. The part about her getting multiple personalities was actually weird too. They all used the same avatar, which got people confused. It was basically a mistake on the studio's side. The actual people behind those personalities were pretty talented, but they got introduced in an unnecessarily confusing way. To make a comparison with Hololive, Ai herself is kinda similar to Korone. Aipii retired before I could figure her out, but I think she was similar to Towa. The one that's left, Love-chan, is kinda similar to Sora. She's wholesome, but also kinda intimidating. I recommend checking "love-chan is intimidating" video, even though it's a short one.
Yeah to be honest only now that i have seen as many vtuber clips and streams as i have i can safely say that i know almost nothing about vtubers lol there is that many of em and they are all that different .
just came across this when looking through your content and I just want to add something that I think rings true and explains why we love them so much. In contrast to the guys video they are on average *more real*. you mentioned how most vtubers are actually more *real* than other streamers as when it comes to the personas, although many play a character, they *chose* that character (some hololive models never used due to lack of people who would fit the character) and with time it merges further with their real personality as they relax and it starts to shine through more. an good example of this being Amelia, when she ground pounds or gets annoyed at games and becomes toxic neither has to do with her detective character but come from her personality which has blurred the lines and merged with the character to create who we know as Amelia Watson. its less like playing a character who is either cutesy, lewd, clumsy, dumb or whatever but a real person who takes on character lore for fun like whenever you play a ttrpg like dungeons and dragons. your technically playing a character but you are certainly yourself through and through. its like a while ago Kiara was giving advice about becoming a vtuber, its not so much a decision about money but about what gives you happiness. the anonymity of using an avatar means they can be themselves more and hanging out with like minded people. this goes for vtubers more but applies generally on the internet including on this channel, in this corner of the internet we can be ourselves hence why you are the realest reactor I have ever seen. when it comes to either real life subjects or weeb and degenerate stuff like vtuber we may meme but it is just us being who we are. anyway, I'll spewing my opinion on a 7 month old reaction video for absolutely no reason, if you see this have a nice day.
This is the same dude that likes Konosuba and while this video wasn't bad per say I wouldn't say it was accurate. Far from it. While yes some insane fans that connect to the vtuber avatar on a personal level exist I wouldn't call them a majority. He didn't even know about the idol culture before during this video. The only point he had was about the silent vtubers. Also pretty sure Nijisanji was one of the first to do the vtuber thing. Whole video screams of just being contrarian for the sake of it. Gura put it well when she described the word cringe, that those people go and hate on the vtubers but than go on twitch and watch the fucking gta rp "just let me finish my character arc" looking ass.
Nijisanji is the first to popularize what "modern VTubers" do (ie. popularizing in the streaming element, popularizing the use of 2D avatars instead of 3D ones, constantly "break immersion", and focusing on the personality of the VTuber). However, the first VTuber is kind of a debatable topic, depending on the definition used. Some point to Ami Yamato, a vlogger who used a 3D model instead of her real self, who started as far back as 2011. Some point to Eilene, who is an anime avatar that did short skits (usually dark humor). Others would point to Kizuna AI since she coined the term VTuber.
In most cases I'd prefer dislike rather than hate. I can't really understand his hatred towards someone like Korone. But I guess I'll just look at it the same way I hate someone like Pokimane, since she's just a bad person in general.
funny, i swear everyone has shit on something relentlessly before only to later return, take all they said back and start to like it for a random reason. i can't say i haven't done that once.
I totally agree with Scamboli. V-tubers are fine when they act natural and like normal streamers, but too many come off as annoying and their fans make it even worse.
I don't watch Vtubers but I want to start Vtubing myself (but with a dark skin male character with dreads - so basically how I look in real life) because I recently started playing Games with revealing my voice to twitch streamer friends and sometimes we get random people in the voice chat on our teams... and the randoms keep saying my voice is cringe and way to high for someone my age (27) which made me even more insecure about starting to stream so they recommended me to start Vtubing because my voice also fits the characters better and also my usually quirky, hyperactive personality. They also said it should help me to get ready and better at interacting with random people because we are planning to making cooking battle live streams where I have to reveal my face. Also you can get to know a lot more people whom you can talk with about Anime.
Proftrof speaking true facts in this video and if you guys hate vtubers just don't watch them honestly why would you give a shit if you don't like them
I get his point. He dislikes high pitch voices and loud people. He also dislikes personas. He is just too serious and maybe sad in life. Hatsune Miku is still hot to this day. By the way Nyanners is going to have some live AI concert tour starting from 04.24. I don't know what to expect but I think she will probably upload highlights or atleast some information on how it went on her channel.

nigeru means escape Nigerundayo kind of means get out of here. probably souned like "bro, get out of that relationship with that brain surgeon fucking girl"
7:38 not true It's usually people who don't care about vtubers that makes rumors Now, her voice actress (already an open secret) already has hold on Kizuna Ai and is streaming and doing her videos, and the 2 substitutes* that Kizuna Ai viewers already noticed have their own channel under AI Channel which is Ai-pii and Love-chan, but sadly Ai-pii graduated soon. "Don't spread misinformation" -Proftrof
Thing about the Chinese girls, yes some where very cool, like Artia was very good at english, she was the first one to go over on reddit if I'm not mistaken, she'd reply comments and whatnot. THE PROBLEM IS is known that two of the Hololive China girls (sigh) used their previous personas to incite and organize attacks on Coco and Haachama. That was like the straw that broke the camels back.

Cults are known for members thinking it's not insane and crazy but in reality it is
@@airesartz7196 what cults are you talking about lmao
just came across this when looking through your content and I just want to add something that I think rings true and explains why we love them so much.
Lmao very well said
What's wrong with konosuba? It's great.
@@mariosmatzoros3553 I guess it was weird for someone to like Konosuba yet not like Vtubers is what I'm getting here
Nijisanji is the first to popularize what "modern VTubers" do (ie. popularizing in the streaming element, popularizing the use of 2D avatars instead of 3D ones, constantly "break immersion", and focusing on the personality of the VTuber).
Gura 200 iq confirmed just don't let her do math .

In most cases I'd prefer dislike rather than hate.
I can't really understand his hatred towards someone like Korone. But I guess I'll just look at it the same way I hate someone like Pokimane, since she's just a bad person in general.
Give him a couple of months and he might be out with a why i love vtubers vid lol
@@Proftrof it's like you're looking at your old self lol, look where you are now
@@lungyean Too real lmao but nah i was a lot more toxic when i first saw vtubers
Yet at the end he wrote that Korone grew on him, so i dont know from where you got he hated her?
@@Ursakur I was just more so referring to his wanting to rip apart the doggo, and I made this post halfway into the vid so yeah
27:50 you know what I might like vtubers now
lol

"Most of them are also pretty in real life"
:"True"
I see you got recommended too by RUclips 👀
To this day youtube randomly snitches to me
Nora the Cat is a real guy.
funny, i swear everyone has shit on something relentlessly before only to later return, take all they said back and start to like it for a random reason. i can't say i haven't done that once.
Oh yeah everyone has experienced that for sure .
they're cute and funny, that's why i like Vtubers and they make me want to pat them
they're not annoying at all
i mean ..... if someone gets annoyed by cute anime girls like scamboli , then vtubbers would probaly be somewhat annoying to that person
this is one of the weirdest comments i’ve ever read
@@ilovesteez what's weird about my comment?
@@takasakisaito2797 “they make me wanna pat them 🥺” ._.
@@ilovesteez it's okay right?
they're so cute,and it's not weird if i want to pat them,i'm a girl,i love cute things
That headphone shot was badass man
lol
I totally agree with Scamboli. V-tubers are fine when they act natural and like normal streamers, but too many come off as annoying and their fans make it even worse.
17:46 exactly what I thought too after really going down the rabbithole
I Just watched this yesterday and i have mixed emotions .
and some are not accurates , but i still leave a like .
❤
"Look at twitch! What's big on twitch?"
I don't know, I watch mostly vtubers there and they are all nice!
Wish you all the best mate .
guys i just ate chicken alfredo
Was it good ?

at least he has a reason, unlike some guys I met on RUclips
Exactly, why watch twitch girl in tub when when get cute shark in tub.

Proftrof speaking true facts in this video and if you guys hate vtubers just don't watch them honestly why would you give a shit if you don't like them
That is true about most things in life but alas there is people that love to hate for the sake of hating ...
Who said we watched them?
new proftrof, new vtuber review video
“Where is my cutting board”
lol. You live dangerously my man.
Living on the edge.
I'm pretty sure "the antis"still attacking hololive members
Unfortunate ...
Ngl, I thought this was Nikado Avocado before the weight gain, at first
I get his point.
OOoh i am excited for that concert .
some of the holo cn girls were cool, and there were some adding fuel to the fire ( leading antis/ encouraging to harass coco)
Though those are still rumors based on a sketchy translation clip and antis claiming that some of the cn girls were on their side, which could easily be faked. Though there could be new stuff that proves some of them were leading antis, but take those claims with a grain of salt.
idk about the other girls but the one with artia looks real

Some of the Chinese branch were good, some encouraged the abuse against coco
i feel bad for Coco
1:41 bold of you to assume that she is pretending
Lol “You’re obese for five people” had me cracking up man.
Anime fans and being unable to handle people not liking the stuff they like. Name a better duo.
This guy is experiencing denial atm, Then comes curiosity, He maybe at the top of the rabbit hole for now looking in and all you hear in that hole atm is "HA HA HA HA pecko", Zentreya is one of my favs and he kinda shitted on her so not a fan of this guy now
Lmao don't be to mad at him though seems to me like he might have been fed clips by his homies and it is kinda hard to judge most vtubers from just a clip or two .

I've got an anime addicted girlfriend, and her obsession is more toxic than the Chernobyl Reactor...
Oof
He got a point. This is why the like and dislike is normal
Vtuber and Car guys both agree in one thing.
Normal People dont understand our likings B}
7:38 not true
It's usually people who don't care about vtubers that makes rumors
Now, her voice actress (already an open secret) already has hold on Kizuna Ai and is streaming and doing her videos, and the 2 substitutes* that Kizuna Ai viewers already noticed have their own channel under AI Channel which is Ai-pii and Love-chan, but sadly Ai-pii graduated soon.
Well this is nice
Uh oh
Idk how to feel about this video
