At this point I hadn't played Doom 2016 in months and i had got it from Gamefly. So I just said fuck it and moved to Doom Eternal. Yea. Going straight for Hard mode IS Masochism

My favorite track from Eternal is probably the Urdak level's peace music. I'm generally not a fan of the nudoom soundtracks, because they sound boring to me for the most part. Also, as to whether anyone has used the auto shotgun: apparently no, and the devs apparently know, because that sonic-rolling imp reskin in the second DLC is immune to most things BUT specifically stated to be vulnerable to the auto shotgun mod and drops shells when dying. (You can practically taste the desperation on the devs' part here.)
